The Indian Trail 5K Run, Kids Mile, & Non-Competitive 5K Walk is located on the grounds of Mississinewa High School in Gas City, IN. Then it’s time to lace up, hit the trail and celebrate the community spirit that helped make this project possible. A Trail Years in the Making The vision for Logan’s trail system took shape through the 2022 Iowa’s Living Roadways Community Visioning process, where surveys, focus groups, steering committee meetings and public open houses consistently identified safer walking and biking connections, especially a safe route to Logan-Magnolia Schools, as a community priority. The resulting plan proposed a broader trail network shaped by existing walking patterns, community destinations, and public input. From there, the work shifted from vision to implementation. The community began prioritizing projects, pursuing grants, building partnerships and planning improvements in phases, exactly as envisioned in the 2022 plan. Over the next few years, multiple grant applications, significant funding from the Iowa Department of Transportation, and impressive local support through private donations steadily moved the trail from an idea on paper to the project now under construction. Phase 1 is the first major step in that larger vision, and this Turkey Trot is our chance to celebrate how far we’ve come while continuing to dream about Logan’s future. The Coach Yantis 5K Turkey Trot is held the Saturday morning before Thanksgiving in memoriam of Brad Yantis by contributing to his MNU endowment scholarship, The American Cancer Society-Hope Lodge KC and the Olathe Public Schools grants via a local community partner. The fields are inspected before race day, but this isn't pavement. Ruts, tire tracks, holes, mud, uneven ground, and other naturally occurring changes in the terrain cannot all be prevented. Trail shoes are not required, but older shoes you don't mind getting dirty are highly recommended, especially if rain has fallen during the week leading up to the race. THE ROWS OF HELL There's a reason you have to earn your way into this one. The Rows of Hell takes Machete 7 runners through the middle of an uncut sugarcane field, weaving down rows and across rough, uneven terrain. The terrain is not level, and conditions can range from dry and hard-packed to extremely muddy. Depending on the height and condition of the cane, runners may want to wear a lightweight long-sleeve shirt and/or running pants. Sugarcane leaves can scratch exposed skin. You've been warned. LATE REGISTRATION & SHIRTS Registering within two weeks of race day? Unfortunately, we do not own a magic crystal ball, so we cannot accurately predict shirt sizes for late registrations. Enjoy the start of the holiday season with a 5K race to celebrate Silver Bells in the City, Lansing's signature event. Participants will be able to run/walk the 5K marked course in downtown Lansing. Welcome to the inaugural Midwest Ultra Trail Classic, a true single-track trail running experience held at Knob Noster State Park in Knob Noster, Missouri. Whether you're looking to tackle your first trail race or your next ultramarathon, the Midwest Ultra Trail Classic offers a distance for every runner. Participants can choose from 10K, 20K, 30K, 40K, or 50K distances, all taking place on the scenic and challenging Opossum Hollow Trail. The course consists of a 10K loop featuring technical single-track terrain from start to finish. Expect winding forest trails, rolling hills, roots, rocks, creek crossings, and approximately 550 feet of elevation gain per loop. Each additional distance simply adds another loop, allowing runners to enjoy the same fully supported course throughout the day. Kick off the holiday season in true St. Louis style at the Winterfest 5K, returning for its sixth year at Gateway Arch National Park. The Winterfest 5K is the only official run/walk that goes through and supports Gateway Arch National Park's official nonprofit conservancy, giving you a chance to experience the Arch grounds like never before. While you run or walk, you'll take in stunning views of Downtown St. Louis, the Old Courthouse, and the iconic Gateway Arch. Directly after the race, our seven-week long Winterfest celebration will kick off in Kiener Plaza with ice skating, s'mores stations, heated igloos, and so much more. When three deep male/female come in from a certain distance, we will announce the winners. The plaques are always hand made you by a local artist, and you will cherish your award and want to sleep with every night. All finishers will receive an awesome hand made medal that you will wear with pride! Parking Valley of Fire State Park charges $10 a car (local) $15 a car (out of state) for parking/per day. Please have cash with you on race day or pay at packet pick-up. There will also be overflow parking over a half mile before the main staging area on left. If you are running the 13.1m, 10k or 5k, more than likely you will be directed here. Wildlife, plant life, and some history The desert may look a little barren at first take, but there are bighorn sheep, desert tortoise, Black-tailed jackrabbit, skunk, antelope, coyote, bobcat, ect.. There are also many species of lizards and snakes that live in this desert oasis. Keep a lookout also for the various plant life. There are Yucca plants, Creosote, Desert Paintbriss, Prickly Pear cactus and ect.. Absolutely stunning so bring your camera! Also, just in the canyons is 'Mouse’s Tank’. It was named after an alleged Southern Paiute Indian renegade named ‘Little Mouse’ who hid out there in the 1890’s. He was accused of gunning down two prospectors and many other crimes. Mouse was never found but they believe they found his watering hole, 'Mouse's Tank'. Volunteers All volunteers will receive a $15 credit per hour toward a future race! The 7th Annual Survivor Day 5K will take place on November 21, 2026 in person at 5 Wanamaker Municipal Complex, Island Heights, NJ 08732. Register by November 1st to ensure you get to pick your T-shirt size! After November 1st, we cannot guarantee your size. Survivor Day was designated by the U.S. Congress as a day when those affected by suicide can join together for healing and support. It was designated the Saturday before Thanksgiving, as the holidays are often a difficult time for suicide loss survivors. For the 7th year in a row we are asking all of our family and friends to come together in unity to run or walk a 5K in memory of Christian Schenk and in support of all those mourning his loss the week before his birthday. This year, we will also be honoring James “Jimmy” Fera. Jimmy was a man who wore many hats in his lifetime. He was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA. He was a valued Boiler Maker at Local 154, served in the Army Reserves, lived in San Diego for a little while, and then finally settled in Toms River, New Jersey with his beautiful wife for almost 25 years. Jimmy became “Mr. Mom”, his favorite title, and was a stay-at-home / part-time working dad to his two kids. Jimmy worked hard, but loved harder. He was the ultimate husband, brother, dad, uncle, cousin and friend to those in his life. He loved lifting weights, telling dad jokes, celebrating holidays with family, and he gave the best hugs. Jimmy was a huge teddy bear. He was fierce and he was strong with an unforgettable spirit. In 2018, at age 68, after being diagnosed with tinnitus post surgery, he ultimately lost his life to mental illness and suicide. His infectious smile, laughter, strength, and love live on in the hearts and memories of everyone who knew him. The anniversary of these deaths are stark reminders of the lasting effects that loss and grief have on surviving families as well as the importance of bringing communities together to support one another.

Registration begins at 8 am. The race starts at 9:00 am Run 5k or walk 1 mile to help us raise $75,000 for the Addiction Recovery Ministries at America’s Keswick. Runners will appreciate the flatness of the course however please be mindful of the large rocks and tree roots during the wooded portions of the race. Runners will follow the orange trail marked by ribbon and course marshals. The course will start by taking you around our beautiful campus, traveling around our lower lake with a wide path of rocks and gravel. Runners will continue to follow the orange trail markers leading them into a more narrow trail area of the Pine Barrens through the woods. This will take them around the upper lake, eventually leading them back out through the woods to get to the finish line on pavement. There will be water stations and volunteers placed at certain course points to help direct runners as needed.
