US Road Running Races US Road Running races are built for runners and walkers who like friendly, low-pressure race days with just enough competition to keep things exciting. Our events are local, welcoming, and easy to jump into, whether you are chasing a PR, collecting another themed medal, working toward series points, or just getting outside with good people. Most races are small enough to feel personal but organized enough to feel official. You can expect a clear course, helpful race staff, finisher medals, results, and a relaxed community feel. Bring your fast shoes, your steady walking pace, your favorite running buddy, or your best “I signed up for this on purpose” smile. We will be glad to see you at the start line. A quick race-day note: because many US Road Running events are small local races, we normally have one or two staff members at each race. Since the course will be presented entirely online, participants are not required to live in/near or travel to the course city. REMINDER: You can take this online course from any location and from any time zone. You do not have to live in the Eastern Time Zone of the U.S. Day One includes topics such as principles of coaching, building a periodized training program, understanding exercise physiology for coaching, and running form. After Day One, you will be asked to sketch out training plans based on the Case Studies introduced. This informal, ungraded "homework" assignment asks you to apply materials from Day One to prepare for Day Two's group work. Day Two includes the business of coaching, sports psychology, nutrition for coaching, recognizing injuries and prevention, environmental factors that affect running performance, and building training programs as a group activity. Online Course Overview: The course will be team taught by RRCA coaching education instructors. Registration is limited to 35 participants to encourage a positive, interactive learning experience. Full attendance and participation is required during the course in order to complete the certification process. While every cohort receives the same curriculum, every cohort has a different dynamic, so the schedule may be modified to suit the specific needs of the weekend program. FedEx will ship the hard-copy course book directly to the U.S. mailing address listed in a participant's registration at no additional charge the week before the course. *The address you enter during registration must be able to accept FedEx shipments.* International participants will be contacted individually by email to discuss delivery options. Course participants will receive multiple pre-course emails from our Director of Coaching Education, Randy Accetta, with important information and reminders. Please read these emails! Instructors will email a link to participants to join the Zoom classroom several days before the course takes place. Course participants will need a computer, tablet, or phone with video and audio capabilities on a reliable internet connection. Participants should set up in a quiet space to avoid distractions and disruptions from others. Instructors will use both the audio and video functions, and will use the screen share feature to display the course slides. There will be opportunities for both written and spoken discussion and Q&A during the course. There will be small-group work on program development in breakout Zoom rooms. Instructors will take attendance at various points during both course days. The Zoom course may be recorded for the RRCA's use. A participant's course registration and attendance indicate understanding and agreement that all photos and videos will become the property of the RRCA. As part of the certification process, prospective coaches must provide proof of current CPR and First Aid certifications within 60 days after the course. The RRCA is accepting CPR and First Aid certifications that are completed online, in person, or in a hybrid format. The post-course exam will follow standard online exam protocols, in which participants are required to take the open-book exam without assistance from others. Prospective coaches will have 30 days after the course to complete the online exam. A score of 85/100 or better is required for certification. Waitlist Procedure: If a course has reached capacity, a prospective participant may register for that course's waitlist. The prospective participant will receive an email if space becomes available and will have 24 hours to complete the online registration process before the space is offered to the next person on the waitlist. Cancellation and Refund Policy: Participants may request withdrawal from a course and partial refund in the amount of $300 ($350 - $50 cancellation fee) up to 14 days before the course date. No refunds will be issued for withdrawals requested less than two weeks before a course. Email coaching@rrca.org to submit a cancellation request. Participants MAY NOT sell or give their spot to another person if they cannot attend the course. Transfers to different course cohorts are not permitted. A participant must first request withdrawal from the original course, and then re-register for the new course, if space permits.

Join us for the 6th ANNUAL Timberneck Turkey Trot 5k Run/Walk Fundraiser, hosted by the Fairfield Foundation. Run or walk this scenic, flat, paved 3.1-mile loop course at Machicomoco State Park in Gloucester, Virginia. Water will be available at the start/finish line, as well as as the halfway point of the race route. Public restrooms will also be available near the race finish. All race proceeds help fund the restoration of the Timberneck House, the c.1793 Catlett family home overlooking the York River in Machicomoco State Park. HELP US CROSS THE RESTORATION FINISH LINE! Beautiful progress has been made and we are getting close to the end of the project! The Timberneck House will soon become a place for learning, lodging, and exploring Virginia's Middle Peninsula. The Virginia's Blue Ridge Triple Crown challenge is back with an amazing medal and more options! We're excited to invite runners from all over the country to Virginia's Blue Ridge for the area's three biggest half marathons and 10K/8K races. There's also a Triple Crown option for the shorter races, dubbed the "Triple Crown Sprint Series." These series show who the most dedicated runners are by rewarding those that finish the three races with some serious bling!

Here's the story behind this race: Bradlee LaMontagne's life was cut way too short at the age of 21 on December 10, 2020. He was tragically killed by a negligent boat driver in Cozumel, Mexico. He was a Junior at Johns Hopkins and also the Captain of the wrestling team. He loved wrestling. He started wrestling in elementary school with Great Neck Wrestling Club and continued on until college. He was two time captain of the Cox Wrestling team and a state finalist and two time state placer, region champion, and had over 120 varsity wins. He was an NCAA All American Scholar at Johns Hopkins placing in the region. Bradlee has 4 siblings and many family and friends. He was loving, kind, passionate and hard working. He had the kind of energy and positivity that would fill the room and bring a smile to everyone around them. He will be forever missed and loved. One Thanksgiving of note, 2019, Bradlee wanted to enjoy Thanksgiving just like everyone else. Except when you're a wrestler, as some of you know, wrestlers cut weight so it's not as easy to just eat and lay around like most of us get to do. Around the holidays it's pretty torturous especially when everyone is eating until their buttons pop off. Well, Brad wanted to eat and eat big, so he did what anyone would do, he ran 15.04 miles Thanksgiving morning😳!! Let me say it again, 15.04 MILES JUST TO EAT💪 That is BRADASS! Let me preface this by saying, this is not 15 miles and it's not Thanksgiving morning. But it is 6.2 miles and is in Seashore State Park (or First Landing as it is now called), similar to where he ran. I think he would be proud of all of us, if we could do half of what he did (or a little less than half) to raise money for wrestlers' scholarships and to celebrate his life and legacy. Join the Town of Vinton's Veterans Outreach Committee as we celebrate Veterans Day with the 3rd Annual Ruck March through Town of Vinton Saturday, November 21st, from 8:30 am to Noon. During this Ruck March, we will honor our Past Veterans, celebrate our Current Veterans, and mentor our Future Veterans. The starting and ending points are the Town of Vinton Municipal Building 311 S Pollard St, Vinton, VA. Participants will march four (4) miles through town. All the proceeds will go to support Feeding Southwest. We will also have refreshments on-site. All participants registering by October 16th are guaranteed a t-shirt. This is a fun fitness team-building event. This is a Rucking event, so ZERO running is involved...We start as a Unit and End as a Unit. Tiger Trot Color Run and 5K – Saturday November 21, 2026 Get ready for one of Scottsville’s favorite traditions. The Tiger Trot Color Run and 5K is happening on Saturday November 21st starting by the library in downtown Scottsville. This family-friendly event includes a 1-mile kids color run and a 5K run or walk open to all ages and fitness levels. At the finish line, participants can choose to run through the optional color celebration or cross the line clean. Raid the Rock is Arkansas's longest running adventure race. We've been around since 2001! Get ready for a new adventure this year, we are changing some things up and getting back to our urban roots! Get your team together and come get your Adventure On!! There will be two course options: an 4 hour sprint course and a 12 hour full adventure course. Each course will require advanced navigation (orienteering). You can find more information in the drop-down menu of the Race Information tab at www.raidtherock.com. Stay tuned for updates for each race. Each race will include trekking/running, mountain biking, paddling, and if the location allows, a ropes section. All of these disciplines are done while navigating through the entire course with a compass and map. Teams may sign up in the following categories: 3 or 4 person male, female, or co-ed; 2 person male, female, or co-ed; and solo. Solo racers must submit a race "resume" to register.
