Shoaff Park Long Mile Kid Race

We are excited to announce The Getting Miles Athletic Club's first annual Fort Wayne Park Race Series! Participants age 12 and under are eligible to compete in this race series.  The Shoaff Park Long Mile, the first race of the series, is a1,5 mile loop on the paved recreation trail in Shoaff Park. Make sure you arrive early to find a good parking spot, warm up, use the restrooms and pick up your race bib. Series participants need to return their race bibs to the packet pickup station in order to receive points for the race. You will use the same race bib for all the events. Runners will receive a race decal to put on their bib at the finish line.  Be sure to return your race bib to packet pickup after you finish the race. We are celebrating our 20th year of the Charity Chase Half Marathon!!!! The Charity Chase Half Marathon is a rewarding run for those up for the challenge.  Hickory is in the foothills of North Carolina and the race course winds around the city with elevation changes that will require some effort.  You will have run up and down the equivalent of a sixty-story building before you finish but don't be scared off!  We have participants that run/walk and runners as young as seven and as old as seventy.   The Charity Chase 5k will take participants through the downtown area of Hickory.  Charity Chase Half Marathon will start at 7:30 AM.  Charity Chase 5K will start at 7:00 AM.   Our Charity volunteer groups help make Charity Chase Half Marathon run smoothly.  There will be over 300 volunteers at the start/finish and along the race course to cheer you on, provide water, Gatorade & GU.  They may even entertain you along the way!  Hickory's Police Department will be at every controll

Springfest 5K Run/2 Mile Walk

The race will be run partly on a city street and mostly on an asphalt trail. It will start and finish on N 5th Street just north of the YMCA, at the intersection with N 6th Avenue. We will be using the north parking lot of the YMCA. There is also plenty of parking across Kennedy Drive at Meadowview Center. Restrooms will be available at the YMCA. Participants need to wear their bib numbers on the front and have them visible when entering the start area and when coming to the finish line. If you sign up for the walk, you must walk the entire distance. No running, no sprinting to the finish line. Bottled water and pre-wrapped snacks such as granola bars and bananas will be available at the finish. All participants will receive a finisher’s award. Welcome to the registration page for the MCRRC YOUTH RUNNING SERIES! This site will be used to register for and track the participation of MCRRC members who are aged 17 and under, participating in our non-competitive, non-timed youth races specifically designated as part of the year-long low-key race series. IMPORTANT NOTES: MCRRC membership is REQUIRED for a runner to receive a Youth Running Series award; however, participation is open to all.Registration is required for each participating child, in each youth series race.You may register your child for more than one race at a time.PARENTS: You do NOT need to register for the Youth Running Series runs if you would like to accompany your child!If your child does NOT participate in a race that you signed them up for, please contact office@mcrrc.org to have the registration removed so it does not count toward your child's Youth Running Series for the year. She passed away in 2019 and a scholarship was created in her honor. She was a tremendous supporter of the tourism and hospitality program at FHSU. She supported a scholarship and made many connections across the state creating opportunities for students and moving forward many tourism initiatives.
