In January of 2015, the Olathe Police Department’s Officer Michael Kern, radio number 704, passed away from a fatal heart attack while preparing for a Presidential escort.  In his memory the annual 704 Blue Run was born and is a tribute to his service and all Olathe Officers that have been tragically lost.   Unfortunately, 2018 saw the unexpected passing of Olathe Police Department Sgt. David Williams. He too will always be remembered for his service and forever a member of this tribute run. Please join us for a beautiful 7.04 mile run or 5K run/walk to kick off your summer! Breakfast Lions Club 35th Annual Tri-Fest 5K

Please join us for our 9th annual Autism community event, the Autism SpectRUN 5K, at the Elizabethtown Sports Park! All proceeds from this family fun 5K will benefit Camp TESSA of Hardin County. Camp TESSA (Teaching Effective Social Skills to Students with Autism) is a week-long summer day camp provided in Hardin County. Participants engage in various activities to practice social skills, including music, art, mealtime, games, and field trips. The event is held in memory of Vernon Long, who was an avid runner who passed from cancer in October 2021. This year, the event is also held in memory of Lacey Poppy, who after a valiant fight against cancer - passed in 2023. All proceeds from this event will be going to Life’s Better Together, Inc. and will be directly donated to support a family where someone is undergoing treatment for cancer. Misti Waldrop, my sister in law, fought a hard battle with lung cancer. In November 2020 Misti joined Jesus. She left behind her amazing family and her 6 year old daughter, McKenzi.
