THE CPT DREW RUSSELL Warrior RUN IS GOING TO HAVE A "LIVE" AND VIRTUAL RACE FOR 2026 About This Event: This 5K Run/Walk is in memory of Captain Drew Russell, a WMU ROTC alumni. He was Killed-In-Action in Kandahar Province, Afghanistan on October 8, 2011. As an active member within his community of Scotts, Michigan and a 2004 graduate of Vicksburg High School, he is remembered as a stand-up man who was always looking out for his friends and family with a great sense of humor. After earning his commission as a Second Lieutenant in Armor through Western Michigan University’s ROTC Program, he was stationed at Fort Carson, Colorado to carry out his time as an active duty Armor officer. Captain Russell was posthumously awarded the Bronze Star Medal and the Purple Heart for his actions in battle. He was survived by his mother, Patti, his father, Jim and his brother, James. In Captain Russell’s remembrance, an endowed scholarship was established for Western Michigan University students

2nd Annual Dr. Abram Estrada Legacy 5k Run/Walk Dr. Abram Estrada, a dedicated educator and beloved family man, earned his Doctorate degree from Grand Canyon University. He was a proud husband to Ellie Estrada, father to two daughters, Adanai Estrada and Abrie Estrada, son to Maria Estrada and a loving brother to his three siblings: Joe, Abel, and Arrian Estrada. Dr. Estrada’s passion for education and his community was evident in his impactful roles as Superintendent at Santa Rosa ISD and Principal at Kennedy Middle School. He was deeply respected by colleagues and students alike for his unwavering commitment to fostering growth and learning. Outside of his professional life, Dr. Estrada was a devoted UT Longhorn fan, cheering on his team with enthusiasm and pride. Our Plano Pacers Hall of Fame Run 3K, 8K and Kids K will be held April 18th at 8AM at Windhaven Meadows Park. The Kids K should start at about 9:00AM after the 8K. Our club will induct new members into the Pacer Hall of Fame during the awards presentation. These honorees have been involved in the continued success of the club that is over 40 years old. The Unbound Now Light Up The Dark 5K Presented by Chick Fil A is a fun, family-friendly “glow-in-the-dark” run to raise money and awareness for the anti-human trafficking work of Unbound. The twelfth annual Jog for Jude, held in memory of Jude Zayac who suddenly and tragically passed away on July 23rd, 2014 from S.I.D.S. (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome), is the area's only 5k race raising awareness and funds for S.I.D.S. research. MOORE FOR THE TROOPS THIRD ANNUAL 5K Our focus for 2026 is Mental Health Awareness. Our mission is to bring awareness to Veteran Mental Health and share resources for Veterans. The 5K is being held in honor of Bryan McCauley. Bryan is a Marine Corps veteran, former police officer/detective, and firefighter/EMT with over 14 years in recovery. The Saltillo Jr. Women’s Club (SJWC) is excited to host our 3rd Annual Donut Dash in Saltillo, Mississippi on Saturday, April 18, 2026. This fun community race is more than just a run. It is one of our most important fundraisers supporting two programs that directly serve children in the Saltillo and Guntown school systems. The first program, Blessing Bags, provides weekend food for students who may not have reliable meals when school is not in session. Each week, SJWC volunteers pack backpacks with kid friendly, nonperishable foods including breakfast items, lunches, and snacks that can easily be prepared without adult assistance. Currently, 90 local children receive Blessing Bags every week, and that number continues to fluctuate as families face rising costs and economic challenges. During school breaks, our club also sends home additional food bags to help bridge the gap when school meals are unavailable. The Blessing Bags program costs approximately $1,850 per month, or about $21

Taking place in Tradition Lake located next to the Tradition Master Amenities Center located in the Village at Tradition neighborhood. This event consists of a 600yd swim + 16.2m bike + 5K run   The very popular Tradition Triathlon is back at it’s original location. It will be hosted by the Gulf Coast Running Club. This race course will consist of a 600 yard flat lake swim around the perimeter of Tradition Lake. The 16.2 mile bike course is challenging with a few sharp climbs. The 5K run will be through the Village at Tradition. The 11th annual Golden Driller Marathon will be held on April 18, 2026. The Golden Driller marathon includes a race distance for all levels from 5k to marathon!  All races will be held on the very nice paved trails of Tulsa's Riverparks system along the banks of the Arkansas River.  The race gets it's name from the iconic Golden Driller statue located at EXPO Square in Tulsa.  For more details on this Tulsa icon visit https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golden_Driller.   Each participant will receive a tech shirt with their entry, as well as a great custom finisher medal that features the Golden Driller.  This race is known for it's small size and friendly nature, as well as great post race food and beer for those 21 and over.  This is a great smaller marathon or half for those who want to avoid the crush of giant big city races.   The course is flat and fast, with the exception of one hill that appears on the marathon course.  All other courses are flat.  On-site parking at the

​The Crooked Compass Adventure Trek is part-adventure racing, part-rogaining, and part-walk in the woods! Solos and teams of 2-4 will travel by foot, using pre-plotted, water-resistant AR-style, USGS maps as they locate as many checkpoints as possible within the time allotted. Celebrating Children is a free community event in April highlighting Child Abuse Prevention Month and Month of the Military Child offered by the City of Virginia Beach, GrowSmart and the Department of Parks and Recreation. As part of this event, families and children are encouraged to participate in a Fun Run at Mt. Trashmore Park. After the Fun Run, family resource exhibitors will be on-site with children's activities and information to share, along with entertainment, mascots, and inflatables.
