The Cauley Creek Park 5K features a flat, fast, rubberized course—perfect for runners of all levels. Participants of all ages are encouraged to join, and medals will be awarded to winners in each age bracket. The Christ Church 5K is also an official Northside Hospital Peachtree Road Race qualified event! Runners of the Christ Church 5K will be able to use their times to qualify for the Northside Hospital Peachtree Road Race once completed. Two-day adult sailing classes are offered most weekends from 9 am to 4 pm at Fiddler's Cove Marina. Classes are open to all eligible MWR patrons and sponsored guests. Minimum age requirement is 16 years or older with a parent or guardian. Class fees per person vary by military affiliation and rank. Dependent fees are calculated at the sponsoring active duty or retiree rate. Pre-registration is required as classes can fill up quickly. Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department is hosting a 5K suicide awareness and prevention walk/run.  Our mission is to bring law enforcement personnel, family, and friends together and raise awareness of the support and resources that are available to those who struggle with suicidal thoughts.  It is important to break the stigma so that people do not suffer in silence and get the support they deserve because we are "Better together"! Saturday, April 18, 2025. This incredible natural area (now known as LLELA) was originally wild and beautiful, full of an endless number of native species. But the area around it became urbanized and the city moved in on it. LLELA was tamed, eventually being surrounded by suburbia (the city, and thousands of people and noise). Now, LLELA, University of North Texas, and the City of Lewisville are working to bring back the wild. Reclaiming it, protecting it, and making beautiful experiences possible for generations to come.  As they work daily to restore and replenish the native plant, tree, and animal life, they are bringing the natural environment back full circle. We invite you to come take part in that process, and enjoy these special trails and eco-systems, while showing your support for LLELA’s great work! So run (or walk) your way through this course that does not disappoint and take in the beauty of the northeast Texas spring wildflowers!!!  The race includes chip timing with RFID tags, race bibs and, as always, each participant receives a race t-shirt. The first 50 to register will receive a swag bag full of sponsorship items and other goodies. Misti Waldrop, my sister in law, fought a hard battle with lung cancer. In November 2020 Misti joined Jesus. She left behind her amazing family and her 6 year old daughter, McKenzi. We will be hosting a 5K walk/run in her honor. It’ll be $25 a person and it will include a shirt. Please join us in her honor. The 29th Annual Victory Over Violence Walk/Run takes place Saturday April 18, 2026.  This USATF certified 5K Walk/Run and a 1K Fun Run starts at Trinity Park Duck Pond near downtown Fort Worth and winds through Trinity Park. T-shirt, food, beverages, a huge children’s area and more are included. Benefits the anti-violence programs of The Women’s Center of Tarrant County. The Women's Center serves over 100,000 each year by inspiring and empowering women, men and children to overcome violence, crisis and poverty.

First launched in April 2010, the Sisters Network Inc. Stop the Silence National African American Breast Cancer 5K Walk/Run is the first and only national breast cancer walk hosted by a black-led organization for black women. The walk is hosted in April to draw attention to National Minority Health Awareness month. Over the last 15 years, more than 4,000 participants from around the United States travel to Houston, Texas annually to honor and celebrate black women diagnosed with breast cancer. A portion of the funds raised from the Stop the Silence walk benefits Sisters Network Inc. Karen E. Jackson Breast Cancer Assistance Program (BCAP). The national program pays for 3D mammograms for uninsured women and provides financial assistance to breast cancer survivors who are currently in treatment.
