In January of 2015, the Olathe Police Department’s Officer Michael Kern, radio number 704, passed away from a fatal heart attack while preparing for a Presidential escort.  In his memory the annual 704 Blue Run was born and is a tribute to his service and all Olathe Officers that have been tragically lost.   Unfortunately, 2018 saw the unexpected passing of Olathe Police Department Sgt. David Williams. He too will always be remembered for his service and forever a member of this tribute run. Please join us for a beautiful 7.04 mile run or 5K run/walk to kick off your summer! Join us for the first annual Lawrence Public Schools 2 Mile Walk/Run on April 18, 2026! For this first year, race participation is limited to USD497 employees only. We hope to expand the offerings in future years!   The race will kick off at 9:00am, location to be announced in the coming weeks. Dirty Dash is the newest race in the Dirty Trail Series, taking you to a brand-new venue at the Shelterhouse Picnic Area in South Chagrin Reservation of the Cleveland Metroparks. Choose between a 10k (hikers welcome!) or a half marathon. The 35th Annual Breakfast Lions Club Tri-Fest 5K Run/Walk benefiting Habitat for Humanity of Henderson, KY will be on Saturday, April 18, 2026. This race will take place at Central Park downtown by the riverfront and start at 8am rain or shine!  This is a certified 5K race route with medals and awards given out after the race.  Pre-Registration bag includes a 35th Anniversary and 100th Home Limited Edition Tri-Fest 5K shirt, custom bib and swag bag full of additional goodies while supplies last. Please join us for our 9th annual Autism community event, the Autism SpectRUN 5K, at the Elizabethtown Sports Park! All proceeds from this family fun 5K will benefit Camp TESSA of Hardin County. Camp TESSA (Teaching Effective Social Skills to Students with Autism) is a week-long summer day camp provided in Hardin County. Participants engage in various activities to practice social skills, including music, art, mealtime, games, and field trips. Support is provided by multiple community members, teachers, therapists, parents, and peer partners.  Each runner who registers by April 1st  will receive a race t-shirt! T-shirts will not be included in the 9 and under category (unless registered as a paid participant). Inaugural Paris-Bourbon County YMCA Indoor Triathalon! Have you ever wanted to try a triathalon and didn't know where to start?  This is a great opportunity for beginners and even kids to see what they are made of.  It can also be a great tool for experienced athletes to test their training or prepare for the next event.  Join us Saturday, April 18th for a fun day and to challenge yourself in this completely indoor race.  A relay option is also available if you are a parent that wants to compete with their child or a group of two or three people that just want to do one or two events each. Kids ages 7 - 13 will be able to compete but will run the indoor track instead of the treadmill.  Parents/guardians 18 & over must be present at each event.

Cumberland River Behavioral Health's Victims Services Program and Substance Use Disorder Program are teaming up to sponsor this 5k Run/Walk that is more than just another 5k. It is a stand for healing, recovery, and resilience. The Redbud Ride is an annual bicycle ride that starts in beautiful downtown London, KY and stretches throughout the surrounding areas. This ride is a must do for cycling enthusiasts, professionals, century riders and amateurs alike. The Good Fight 5k Run/Walk is a race that will be held on April 18, 2026 at Kereiakes Park in Bowling Green, KY. The event is held in memory of Vernon Long, who was an avid runner who passed from cancer in October 2021. This year, the event is also held in memory of Lacey Poppy, who after a valiant fight against cancer - passed in 2023. All proceeds from this event will be going to Life’s Better Together, Inc. and will be directly donated to support a family where someone is undergoing treatment for cancer. Your participation and support of this event not only helps the  family but shows reverence for all who are battling cancer. Our hope is that through this event, we can help those who are impacted find a community and not feel alone in fighting the good fight of cancer treatment.

The 11th annual Golden Driller Marathon will be held on April 18, 2026. What is the LivSports 24 Hour Adult Hockey Marathon benefiting LivFree? Here’s how it all works - the event is a continuous game with 60 to 90 skaters playing on two teams in 3 rotating groups based on ability with a running score from opening puck drop to the final horn. Each player raises $1000 dollars for the cause. LivFree is a pediatric cancer non-profit organization that provides children and their families with moments of joy to take a break from struggle and enjoy some family time together. 9:00 am.  Enhance your fitness and show your grit on this challenging 5K or 10K course that will carry you through the heart of scenic Mountain City and into the beautiful countryside of Johnson County. This community driven event raises money for underfunded extra curricular activities at Johnson County High School and Middle School. All money raised goes directly to the programs and the kids.

Misti Waldrop, my sister in law, fought a hard battle with lung cancer. In November 2020 Misti joined Jesus. She left behind her amazing family and her 6 year old daughter, McKenzi. We will be hosting a 5K walk/run in her honor. It’ll be $25 a person and it will include a shirt. Please join us in her honor. All proceeds will be donated in honor of Misti.  This will be at the Lake Side Park. Registration will be near the Kids Kingdom Entrance. Help us LIGHT UP THE NIGHT with glow sticks and lanterns.
