Dallas Wellness Events is a local initiative focused on bringing the Dallas community together through fitness, wellness, and social connection. Our goal is to highlight and create accessible, community-centered events that encourage people to move, connect, and support local businesses while prioritizing health and well-being. First launched in April 2010, the Sisters Network Inc. Stop the Silence National African American Breast Cancer 5K Walk/Run is the first and only national breast cancer walk hosted by a black-led organization for black women. The walk is hosted in April to draw attention to National Minority Health Awareness month. Over the last 15 years, more than 4,000 participants from around the United States travel to Houston, Texas annually to honor and celebrate black women diagnosed with breast cancer. A portion of the funds raised from the Stop the Silence walk benefits Sisters Network Inc. Karen E. Jackson Breast Cancer Assistance Program (BCAP). The national program pays for 3D mammograms for uninsured women and provides financial assistance to breast cancer survivors who are currently in treatment.

The 29th Annual Victory Over Violence Walk/Run takes place Saturday April 18, 2026.  This USATF certified 5K Walk/Run and a 1K Fun Run starts at Trinity Park Duck Pond near downtown Fort Worth and winds through Trinity Park. T-shirt, food, beverages, a huge children’s area and more are included. Benefits the anti-violence programs of The Women’s Center of Tarrant County. The Women's Center serves over 100,000 each year by inspiring and empowering women, men and children to overcome violence, crisis and poverty.

Misti Waldrop, my sister in law, fought a hard battle with lung cancer. In November 2020 Misti joined Jesus. She left behind her amazing family and her 6 year old daughter, McKenzi. We will be hosting a 5K walk/run in her honor. It’ll be $25 a person and it will include a shirt. Please join us in her honor. All proceeds will be donated in honor of Misti.  This will be at the Lake Side Park. Registration will be near the Kids Kingdom Entrance. Help us LIGHT UP THE NIGHT with glow sticks and lanterns.

The 35th Annual Wildflower Trails 5K will be held on April 18, 2026!  After 35 years, we've learned a thing or two about life and here's the thing... LIFE'S MESSY, RUN WITH IT! So run (or walk) your way through this course that does not disappoint and take in the beauty of the northeast Texas spring wildflowers!!!  The race includes chip timing with RFID tags, race bibs and, as always, each participant receives a race t-shirt. The first 50 to register will receive a swag bag full of sponsorship items and other goodies. Saturday, April 18, 2025. This incredible natural area (now known as LLELA) was originally wild and beautiful, full of an endless number of native species. But the area around it became urbanized and the city moved in on it. LLELA was tamed, eventually being surrounded by suburbia (the city, and thousands of people and noise). Now, LLELA, University of North Texas, and the City of Lewisville are working to bring back the wild. Reclaiming it, protecting it, and making beautiful experiences possible for generations to come.  As they work daily to restore and replenish the native plant, tree, and animal life, they are bringing the natural environment back full circle. We invite you to come take part in that process, and enjoy these special trails and eco-systems, while showing your support for LLELA’s great work! This year, we're calling all champions to assemble where one of Colorado's favorite trails joins one of its most glorious parks, and support the vital mission of Adaptive Adventures. All course swill send athletes on a heroic journey, following the winding Big Dry Creek Trail southwest, with the half marathon course offering magnificent views of Standley Lake against the epic backdrop of the Front Range. Please join the Durango Running Club for the inaugural Earth Day 5K! The race will be on 04/18/26 at 8:30 AM at Rotary Park in Durango. Runners and walkers will go north on the Animas River Trail from Rotary Park, and will run or walk 1.55 miles north to just before 32nd Street. Participants will then turn around and finish at Rotary park. Please note this will be a Zero Waste event. Participants are encouraged to carry their own water.  This event is a fun run/walk format, and there will be no chip timing or prizes. All proceeds from the race will go to benefit Compañeros.
