Come join us for a fun filled morning at Rocky Mount Academy! There will be a 5K Color Run as well as a Fun Run. In addition to these events, there will be Food Trucks and a Kids Zone. Vantage Career Center is thrilled to announce its 2nd annual Vantage 5K event, a fun and engaging race designed to bring the community together while supporting a great cause. All proceeds raised and charitable contributions collected will be used to benefit the “NOAC Geared to HEAR Fund” which was created by local Doctorate of Audiology students in order to provide hearing aids and hearing healthcare for an Akron community member in need. The NOAC Geared to HEAR fund covers the entire cost of a new set of hearing aids and all of the associated care that this community member would need in relation to their hearing in one year.

The RC & MoonPie Presidential Downhill Mile returns as a fast, fun, and uniquely Southern tradition... a one mile downhill with a sweet (and slightly chaotic) twist. Participants will gather on the sidewalk outside the President’s House, where they’ll be sent off by a very special guest. At the start line, runners will eat their first MoonPie before getting sent down Highway 93 by the iconic Death Valley Cannon. At the halfway mark near Sikes Hall, they’ll tackle another MoonPie and an ice-cold cola before making their final push to the finish line. The reward? One last cola and a celebration waiting at the Esso Club. The race honors former Clemson President R.C. Edwards and his wife, Louise “MoonPie” Edwards. Join us to honor longtime Coach Merrill Morgan Join the Seashore Striders for the 4th 5k Run & a 1 mile walk as we honor longtime Colonel Richardson High School Coach Merrill Morgan.  The former boys’ head basketball coach, Morgan, had 505 career victories, earned 485 of those over his 38 seasons at Colonel. He led Colonel to the state finals in 1976, and reached the state semifinals in 1973, 1976, 1990 and 1995.  In the fall of 1967 to joined Caroline County's Colonel Richardson High School where he served as a guidance counselor from 1967-2004; varsity boy's basketball coach from 1967-2005; and assistant girl's track coach in the 1970s. He excelled in all positions, as he encouraged and assisted both athletes and non-athletes, boys and girls, to be the best they could be. The Light Up the Night 5K is more than just a race—it’s a chance for the community to come together in support of one of its own. Join us as we Light Up the Night for Captain Shane Henson, a dedicated member of the Dawson County Sheriff’s Office who has faithfully served the community for more than 30 years. Captain Henson, a pillar of the Dawson County community, was involved in a serious automobile accident over the weekend of March 6–8, 2026. He has already undergone one extensive surgery and is currently undergoing a second surgery at the time this event is being announced. To support the Henson family during this life-altering time, the Dawson County Parks and Recreation Department invites the entire community to come out for the Light Up the Night 5K. Whether you run, walk, or simply come out to show your support, this event is an opportunity for friends, neighbors, and supporters to stand together and help lift up the Henson family. The Crawfish 5K will kick off the amazing Crawfish Festival on Pensacola Beach!
