NOM-York’s 5K was created to raise funds to support our mission – to provide awareness, education and support to those affected by substance use disorder and addiction – as well as to provide a gathering opportunity for the recovery community. At our event, we remember those we have lost to addiction and honor those fighting for recovery.  Our 5K is not like others. It is not a highly competitive event. Although we do our best, we sometimes start the race a little late, and we have hiccups along the way. If you are a serious runner, this may not be the event for you.

Death by 5k is coming back to Waterloo for year 4! Think you have what it takes to finish the Death by 5k challenge? Taking place at beautiful George Wyth State Park, Death by 5k requires participants to run (or walk) ten 5ks over 24 hours, starting each 5k 2.5 hours apart. (8 am, 1030 am, 1 pm, 330 pm, 6 pm, 830 pm, 11 pm, 130 am, 4 am, 630 am) Race HQ will be the Canfield Shelter and the course will be an out and back on the Cedar Valley Lakes Trail (paved) There will be 5 meals, each including hot food, served over the course of the event. Meal times will be 830a, 130p, 630p, 1130p, and 420a. There will also be plenty of snack food and drinks available throughout the event. You will not go hungry or thirsty at a RunStrong Event Participants can spend time between 5ks in a camping tent, hammock, under a pop up tent, or in their vehicles. The annual Tulip Festival Road Race in Orange City, Iowa is a mainstay on the third weekend of May each year. The 2026 edition will feature a scenic Orange City route starting and ending downtown with the last stretch along the Tulip lined Central Avenue from Northwestern College, past the historic courthouse, and through the Dutch architecture and festival features while finishing next to the Windmill in Windmill Park. We will feature a 5k run/walk and a 1 mile fun walk. Both events will start at 8:05 am on May 16th on Arizona Avenue near the park.  Dutch finisher awards as well as overall and age group awards will be given.  The race will be chip timed with a gun start. Participants can expect a t-shirt, fun race experience, and treats at the finish line.

Tim's House for First Responders was founded in 2018 by Meaghan Valesky, who lost her father to suicide. He was a firefighter and paramedic who fought the silent battle of mental health. Since his passing, Meaghan has been working tirelessly to put an end to the stigma and lower the suicide rate. Through the various fundraisers that the organization does each year, Tim's House gives ALL money back to the first responder to help cover medication, hospitalizations, mental health evaluations, bills, and so much more.  For Mental Health Awareness Month, Tim's House will be doing their very first 5K Run/Walk. The Be The One race is a family - friendly event created to bring the community together in support of our veterans and those struggling around us. What began as a passion to serve our nation has grown into a space where neighbors, friends, and families can unite to honor the lives of veterans, share their stories, and remember those who lost their battle to suicide.  Suicide is a major - yet preventable - crisis in the United States, with a devastating impact on the veteran community. Veterans comprise nearly a quarter of suicide deaths nationwide. It is estimated that between 17 and 22 veterans or service members take their lives each day. These are not just statistics - they represent fathers, mothers, sons, daughters, and friends.  This event is more than a race - it's a community experience. Participants are encouraged to check in on one another, strengthen bonds, and build new friendships while celebrating the courage and sacrifice of U.S. service members and veterans. By com

“Rooster Days” – A Local Tradition In the Spring of 1931, there was a thriving poultry industry on the farms and acreage surrounding Broken Arrow.  Secretary-Manager of the chamber at that time, Leo S. Wortman, came up with the idea of establishing a special day for farmers to bring to market their excess roosters.  On that first Rooster Day, about 5,000 pounds of roosters, more than two tons, were sold here. There were prizes for the best rooster, the biggest, noisiest, etc.  A highlight of the day was a sound system, which played music noisily all day. People gathered to visit and to enjoy each other’s company. Even though the rooster has just about disappeared, we still celebrate annually in what has come to be the oldest festival in Oklahoma known as Rooster Days. The Rooster Days Run presented by TTCU Federal Credit Union is an annual 5k and Fun Run that coincides with the Rooster Days Festival.    The races start and finish at the festival and are run along Main Street in downtow

Miles for Messiah 5K & Breakfast is our annual event that benefits the youth programs at our church. The 5K course starts near PVCC and finishes at the Family Life Center where a delicious breakfast will be served to all runners. Breakfast plates are also available for any spectators for a small fee &/or donation. The race course is a figure 9 with a loop off of Doggett Road and small inclines. This is a charity run/walk held in memory of Christopher Mang who passed away in May of 2018. Chris was a longtime participant in the Skagit County Special Olympics Program and more recently volunteered at a number of Northwest Endurance Events running events. Known for his big personality, Chris was driven by a love for the many people in his life and a passion for helping others – He was a friend to everyone he met. He loved music and movie trivia and enjoyed karaoke with friends. The Mang/Glesne family and the Skagit Valley Family YMCA have partnered to establish the Christopher Mang Memorial Fund. The Sgt. Bret D. Isenhower Memorial 5K is an annual event held in Seminole, Oklahoma, to honor the memory of Sergeant Bret D. Isenhower, who was killed in action in Afghanistan on September 9, 2011. The event features a 5K run and a 1-mile fun run, with all proceeds supporting the Sgt. Bret D. Isenhower Memorial Scholarship established at East Central University. She is a self published author of two books that promote confidence, movement, and positive self image among young readers. 21st Annual Dolphin Dash 5K   This is our 21st Annual Dolphin Dash, in which we are raising money for Abby's Legacy Foundation. Abby’s Legacy Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that supports childhood cancer patients through research, care, and love. All money raised from our Winter Carnival, Casholas, and this race will go to this charity.   You may both register and pay for the race on this page. All registrations include a T-shirt designed by an Ocean Lakes student along with a race bag. The cost of the race will be $35, and on race day will increase to $40 (and you will fill out a paper registration form). If the race is cancelled due to inclement weather, it will NOT be rescheduled, and there will be NO REFUNDS. If the race is rescheduled due to other reasons, door prizes will be sent out through a drawing.   Registration on race day will begin at 8:30 AM. When & Where: The 5k run starts at 9:00 am at the Warren County Health & Human Services Complex (the former 15th Street School; same location as in previous years!) inFront Royal, Virginia. Race day registration and check- in begin at 8:00 am in the east parking lot. Benefits Warren County Special Olympics. Course: A measured 5k (3.1 mile) route on paved roads through the northwestern part of Front Royal and the grounds of Randolph-Macon Academy. Mile 1 is downhill or flat; mile 2 is mostly uphill; and the final 1.1 miles are rolling. Awards: For the top three men & women overall and the top three in the following age groups: 14 & under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, and 60 & over. Welcome Runners! Come join us for another Fun Day on the streets of the constantly changing landscape of the City of Flowery Branch on May16th at 9am. We are excited to announce that we are an official qualifier for the "Atlanta Journal-Constitution Peachtree Road Race" and your results will be available on the Atlanta Track Club's web page. We will have race packets, T-Shirts and Awards Ceremony once again this year. T-Shirts will be guaranteed to participants who sign up by April 24th. Come Run Like It's Recess at this fun filled, inter-generational family event, benefiting ALL CHUH Schools. Run or walk the 5K course that loops through the heart of beautiful Cleveland Heights.  Stay around after the race for refreshments, entertainment, and the Kid’s Fun Run around the High School track.  Online registration is $30 for adults, $20 for children (14 yrs and younger) and Kids' Fun Run is free. Please join us this year for our 14th annual running of the Race for Case. Race for Case is a community-oriented event benefiting all students of Case CLC. Profits from the event have helped us build our permanent greenhouse on school grounds and fund a set of digital microscopes, a VR system, and school events. Help us continue our tradition of successfully funding projects that provide our students with equipment and opportunities many APS students miss out on. RACE INFO: Join us Saturday, May 16 at 7 am for the Guernsey County Crossroads Marathon. This is a continuation of our Spring Race that has taken place since 2018, but now it has a new name and a new race, the inaugural Crossroads Marathon. This event is meant to showcase historic downtown Cambridge, Ohio and The Great Guernsey Trail and will consist of a marathon, a half-marathon and a 5k distance. This will be Chip timed race with timing services provided by Muskingum Multisports. Starting line will be on Southgate Parkway next to the trailhead located at 134 Southgate Pkwy Cambridge, Ohio.  Proceeds raised at this event will support the Guernsey County Community Development’s (CDC) Great Guernsey Trail and The Cambridge Area Chamber of Commerce.
