Get Down to the Loose Caboose 2026

The 10k and 5k will take place on the 8 Mile Creek Trail in Paragould, Arkansas. In the United States, a person dies by suicide every 12.3 minutes. That is 132 people per day and half a million people per year. Luzerne County made up 54 of those deaths in 2024. It is also the leading cause of death among young people aged 10-24. To address some of these statistics, the Friends of Rachel Club is excited to announce our 2nd Annual Suicide Prevention and Awareness Race. This event is a pivotal part of our mission to raise awareness about suicide prevention, promote mental health, and foster a supportive community for those affected by suicide. We are currently offering a 9.88K (in reference to the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline number), 5K, 1 Mile Memory Walk/Run and Kid’s Fun Run. Although event day is being held at the Hazleton Area High School Track & Field, runners registered for the 5K and 9.88K will not run their respective races around the track but the Hazleton Area High School campus and nearby. Welcome to the Blazer Dash! This is a community event that includes a 5K Run and 2 Mile Walk. Also included is a fun 1/4 mile Kid's Dash for children (10 and under) that will begin after the 5K Run / 2 Mile Walk. Detective Mike Doty Memorial Run

Detective Michael “Mike” Doty, who served the York County community for 12 years, was one of four deputies shot searching for a domestic violence suspect in York on January 16, 2018. A day later he passed away. He was an investigator with the York County Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Enforcement Unit and was the Law Enforcement Officer Narcan (LEON) Program coordinator for the sheriff’s office. He was also a member of the YCSO SWAT Entry Team, as well as an associate advisor for the York County Explorer Post 1786. Your participation in this race will directly benefit Keystone Substance Abuse Services. The Columbia Gorge Running Club invites runners and walkers of all ages and abilities to embark on the 16th annual Ridge Run 10-Miler. This point-to-point race goes up and over the scenic ridge between the towns of Carson and Stevenson, WA. It's a stout climb in both directions - so much so that Backwoods Brewing (in Carson) named a delicious oatmeal stout after this event. Where:The 2026 event starts at the Fairgrounds in Stevenson and ends at Backwoods in Carson. This is a point-to-point race, so you can either park at the Backwoods Cabins in Carson and carpool to the start in Stevenson, or find a ride back to the start after finishing.  There is not a shuttle to the start (or finish), so you will need to coordinate your own ride. It is highly recommended that you meet at the Backwoods Cabins in Carson (there is a large parking area just past the pub across Wind River Hwy that will have a parking sign) at 8am and carpool from there to the start. This race is traditionally held in Skamokawa, WA around The Julia Butler Hansen National Wildlife Refuge which is home to the Columbia Whitetail Deer. The Julia Butler Hansen National Wildlife Refuge, in addition to protecting endangered deer is also a wintering area for waterfowl on the Pacific flyway. This race is sponsored by Wahkiakum 4-H Leaders Council. The Washington State University 4-H Youth Development Program is a county-based program with educational support from the University. Tim's House 5K Run/Walk for Mental Health

Tim's House for First Responders was founded in 2018 by Meaghan Valesky, who lost her father to suicide. He was a firefighter and paramedic who fought the silent battle of mental health. Since his passing, Meaghan has been working tirelessly to put an end to the stigma and lower the suicide rate. Through the various fundraisers that the organization does each year, Tim's House gives ALL money back to the first responder to help cover medication, hospitalizations, mental health evaluations, bills, and so much more.  For Mental Health Awareness Month, Tim's House will be doing their very first 5K Run/Walk. This race will be taking place in Jamestown, PA. Registration begins at 6am going until 8am and the race starts at 8:30am. We cannot do all we do without your help. This years 100 mile relay will be held on May 16, 2026. Once registration closes, a list of starting times will be sent out so participants can see what time they will run. The Vision Miles2Meals was created to fight hunger in our local community. By coming together as a community in a fun way, we can give back to our own areas and combat local issues. How It Works Obviously an unusual race format will come with some confusion in regards to sign ups. Here's how it works...
