What is a Tunnel To Towers Run & Walk? The Tunnel to Towers Run & Walk Series was created to honor the heroic life and death of Stephen Siller, a New York City firefighter (FDNY) who lost his life on September 11, 2001 after strapping on his gear and running through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel to the Twin Towers. Honor all of those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001 and support our first responders and military who make extraordinary sacrifices in the line of duty! The second annual Rock Solid 10K, 5K and 1-Miler will take place at Bluebird Park in Isanti, MN for the benefit of The Rock Solid Foundation (TRSF). All three races will take place on the same out and back course, starting at the corner of Isanti Parkway and 3rd Avenue in Bluebird Park. We'll have other family friendly activities, delicious local food, drinks and beer available for purchase.   TRSF is a nonprofit charitable organization that was founded in late 2024 to honor the life and legacy of Jesse Melvin Haugen, who passed away in a tragic canoeing accident on May 18, 2024. Jesse was rock solid in his passion for and dedication to the many roles he played - a family man, outdoorsman, veteran, entrepreneur and servant. Join MSE Racing and Coach Sally Drake for an open water swim session/clinic at beautiful Lake Lou Yaeger in Litchfield, IL.  We will kick off Lake Lou Yaeger Triathlon and packet pickup weekend with an optional swim clinic to help newbies prepare and gain helpful tips for open water swimming and race day strategies. For those with experience, just swim and enjoy! We will have a couple of buoys for use at the clinic session, but not full access to the triathlon swim courses. Hosted by Max Effort Performance, this 5K run and walk raises awareness about addiction and overdose while raising funds to support local agencies and families impacted by substance use. The District Dash 5K Fun Run & Walk has been a great fundraiser for the Fall Mountain Educational Endowment Association (FMEEA) and the board is excited to bring it back in 2025. The Cupcheck Cancer Tournament is a friendly indoor pond hockey style tournament held each year to raise money for Glioblastoma brain cancer research and awareness. It is also a time to honor the life of Kevin Wagner who loved the game of hockey. Join us as we continue to stand beside and support our loved one, Stef Dorner, in her ongoing fight against ocular melanoma. Stef was first diagnosed in March of 2020. In early 2025, her diagnosis progressed to stage 4. This past year brought significant challenges. After five aggressive rounds of Hepzato to treat liver metastasis, Stef also underwent radiation to address metastasis in her lung. As we head into 2026, we gather with Hope in Sight. Stef’s most recent scans show stable tumors with no new growth, a milestone we were deeply thankful for. She continues to fight and is hopeful for a cure. Together, we will walk, gather, and raise awareness for this extremely rare eye cancer, diagnosed in only about 7,000 adults worldwide each year. The North Jersey Masters is offering bus transportation to and from the NYRR Brooklyn Half Marathon.  There are 50 seats available on a first come, first serve basis. Priority registration will be given to members. Cost is $65.00 per person. Discounted rate of $55.00 for NJM members. Member discount is applied at check-out.  Rate will increase to $70.00 on 5/1/2025. There is no discount for a one way trip. Two-day adult sailing classes are offered most weekends from 9 am to 4 pm at Fiddler's Cove Marina. Classes are open to all eligible MWR patrons and sponsored guests. Minimum age requirement is 16 years or older with a parent or guardian.   **A minimum of 6 hours of sail time at the Intermediate level (Catalina Capri 22) is required post Intermediate sailing course.  Class fees per person vary by military affiliation and rank. Dependent fees are calculated at the sponsoring active duty or retiree rate. Pre-registration is required as classes can fill up quickly. Registration includes boat rental, instruction, and textbooks. Students per boat will be kept to the minimum amount possible in order to maximize learning potential, and will range from one to four.
