Annual Holiday Hustle 5k! Great way to burn off some of the holiday "extra" that is so easy to find. 8:30 am raceday registration, 9:30 am start. Start and Finish by the park office off John St at Commons Park in Angola.

LOCATION – NEW FOR 2025: Flushing High School – 5039 Deland Rd, Flushing, MI 48433 Due to the closing of the old YMCA and ongoing challenges securing a new downtown course in 2025, this year’s event will be held on the Riverbend Striders’ Flushing course, with the aim to return to flint in 2026. Both the Run and Walk will start and finish at Flushing High School and wind through a Flushing neighborhood. There is not an 8K Run this year. COURSE: A 100% paved, accurately measured (not certified) course through a Flushing neighborhood and surrounding streets. Mile markers will be placed as weather permits. ENTRY FEES: Event WITH Hoody Adults (Over 18): $35 Students: $30 Late Registration (After 12/19): Add $5 Adults Late: $40 Students Late: $35 Event No Hoody / Medal Only On or Before December 19: $25 Late Registration: $30 Riverbend Striders Members: Deduct $2 from the pre-registration fee only. The Pineland Striders are pleased to invite you to the fifth anniversary of South Jersey's most cherished Boxing Day tradition (trust us, we did a poll; we narrowly beat out the second-place response "what's Boxing Day?"), the Boxing Day 5K! Because we're inarguably good at calendar, we deliberately scheduled this massive fifth-year bonanza for a Saturday, so you have no possible excuse not to come out and join us! Proceeds from this year's race will be donated to Cedar Run Wildlife Refuge, an environmental non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation of New Jersey’s wildlife and habitats through education, conservation, and rehabilitation. The overall mission of Cedar Run is to serve as a community resource on the importance of protecting and enhancing healthy ecosystems for all. If you're not able to join us for the race, you can still make a donation to this worthy organization. The event features a USATF-sanctioned, chip-timed 5K and FREE Kids' Fun Run. Participants in the 5K will receive our customary high-quality swag item. Our swag is unique, one-size-fits-all, and definitely not a t-shirt. Check in closer to race day for the official swag reveal! We're also continuing a longstanding Pineland Striders Boxing Day tradition: the regifting raffle! Got some presents for Christmas (or any other winter holiday that falls on or before December 25) that aren't quite your style? Bring them along! After the race, we'll have a wide variety of donated gifts. In a randomly-selected order, runners will be invited to pick a free gift. While we appreciate gift donations, they are not required, and every participant will be invited to select a gift (unless/until we run out), even if they don't bring one. Gifts do not need to be running-related at all; we will accept ANYTHING!* The 5K course uses residential roads surrounding Signal HILL Elementary School. It's not called Signal HILL randomly! The roads are not closed to traffic, but there is generally very little this time of day. Still, please be mindful and aware of your surroundings. There is a small section of the course that goes off-road (it's a grass-covered field, which is flat and not at all technical). The course will be marked with cones and chalk arrows, and volunteers will be stationed at tricky turns to make sure you don't wander off-course. Because this is a winter race, there will be NO on-course hydration; if you will need water during the race, plan to bring your own. Strollers are allowed, but due to USATF rules, dogs are not permitted in the race. The 5K will have about a 90-minute time cutoff, so run-walkers and walkers are welcome. That said, in the event that we do experience significant snowfall, we may be forced to cancel. Unfortunately, the majority of race expenses must be paid up-front (that's why we have to charge an entry fee), so we will not be able to issue refunds for cancellation. We appreciate that losing a race registration fee is frustrating, so if we are forced to cancel, we will ensure that all pre-registered runners receive their race swag and will make every effort to offer registered runners a deferral or discount to another Pineland Striders race (while we have you here, feel free to mark off Saturday, June 26, 2027 on your calendar! That'll be our annual Independence Day 5K/10K!). Perry County Road Runners will host the 42nd edition of the Last Mile on December 27th 2025. Its a 5 mile race that starts at the Duncannon Fire Hall at Cumberland and High St. It goes through the scenic hillside outside town and finishes by the Fire Hall. The Plano Pacers Holiday Hustle 3K, 8K and Kids K runs will be held Dec 26th at 8AM at Windhaven Meadows Park. The Kids K should start at about 9:00am. Members with chips do not need to check in or register online, just bring your chip to the event and run. Members who recently joined, or have not already picked up their chip can pick their chips up at the Membership table on race day (before 7:30 AM). New members can sign-up or existing members can renew online here. Guest preregistration is available online here. Pre-registered guests can pick up a bib before 7:30AM in the registration area on race day. The Kid's K is free and open to all kids. No need to register in advance.
