P.A.C.E. Races for Youth Athletic Scholarships

Warren County Parks and Recreation is hosting the 3rd Annual P.A.C.E. Marathon and Half Marathon in 2026! PACE stands for Parks and Community Events, and the goal of this race is to have people experience these two communities. This year's race will feature the communities of Smiths Grove and Oakland, a truly beautiful section of Warren County, KY. All marathon and half marathon participants will receive a shirt, and marathon and half marathon finishers will receive a unique medal that features these two communities. This is a rural route that will have you oohing and aahing as you run.  Early packet pick-up for ALL races will be available Friday, May 8th from 6:00-9:00pm at Ed Spear Park. Please arrive to check in and pick-up your bib and t-shirt no later than 6:15 am on Saturday if you are unable to pick up on Friday. BOTH Half and Full marathon will begin at 7:00am. Known for its fast corners and spectator-friendly layout, this event challenges racers to combine speed, tactics, and endurance in a tight, thrilling loop through the heart of Bismarck.   We’re keeping the extended 1.2-mile lap distance — offering racers more chances for attacks, strategy, and recovery. Ultimate Raider Challenge

DescriptionThe Ultimate Raider Challenge is hosted by the Grant Co HS JROTC and is a dynamic physical fitness competition designed to test teams and individual competitors’ endurance, speed, and agility, and teams' overall teamwork. The event is one continuous race that begins with a 1-mile run to assess cardiovascular stamina and set the tone for the day.  The 1-mile run will end at the 1st Obstacle Course Obstacle.  Competitors then tackle an approximately 1.5-mile obstacle course, navigating through a variety of physical challenges that test strength, coordination, and mental toughness. After the last obstacle, participants continue directly to the football field to sprint through a shuttle run, emphasizing quick bursts of speed, strength, stamina, agility, and precise movement. Starved Rock Country Marathon

Back for a 12th year, the 2026 Starved Rock Country Marathon and Half Marathon, 5K and now 10K  have become the "must do" events of the running community in central Illinois. The Marathon course will again encompass the scenery of the Illinois River, the neighborhoods of Ottawa, and the rolling landscapes in and around Starved Rock State Park. Runners will be inspired by the scenery of rolling country hills and natural rock formations tucked into heavily wooded areas created by the Illinois River thousands of years ago.
