Miracle Hope 5K Run (Family Fun Run/Walk)

Rocky Mount, VA
This annual event is in memory of Miracle Hope. Miracle was a true warrior! When she was born she was diagnosed with microcephaly cerebral palsy and later in life epilepsy. In her short life she and her family faced many battles. Through it all Miracle showed strength, courage, and love for everyone. She would light up any room she was in and taught many people what true unconditional love is. Miracle went to be with her creator in Heaven in November 2019 and her family and friends fondly remember her wonderful life every day. Miracle's brothers Gabe and Jacob are also able to find some healing in this incredible way to honor her and to give back. This year our event honors her 18th birthday and we are truly excited to celebrate her with our extended family and friends with this event raising money for  a wonderful charity, Healing Strides located at 672 Naff Road in Boones Mill, Virginia. Miracle loved riding the horses as part of her therapy and we were so thankful to be connecte

Waves & Whales 5K Trail Run

Point Arena, CA
The annual Waves & Whales 5K Trail Run‐Walk is held on the Mendocino Coast in Point Arena. Taking full advantage of the location, the run takes place on the Point Arena-Stornetta Unit of the California Coastal National Monument. The course begins behind City Hall in the conifer forest off Highway 1, makes its way to the coast where it follows the bluffs, and then winds back into the pine and cypress forest. Proceeds from the Waves & Whales Trail Run support ACORN Partners in Education’s environmental stewardship program, Students Protecting the Coast, which engages youth in hands‐on learning with a focus on conservation and community outreach. Students Protecting the Coast began during the 2012‐13 school year as part of the local and national campaign to include the Point Arena‐Stornetta Lands in the California Coastal National Monument. Students continue to learn about our coastal landscape and are empowered to use their voice by sharing what they’ve learned with the community
