Run Muskegon's Annual Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot Thursday, November 26th, 2026 Start Time: 9:00 AM Location: Pigeon Hill Brewers Lounge, 895 4th Street, Muskegon, MI 49440 About the Race The Muskegon Turkey Trot has been a community tradition for over a decade. This family-friendly fun run & walk is the perfect way to jumpstart Thanksgiving morning. Get festive, wear a costume and earn that extra slice of pie. Registration Registration is online and will close at 8:45 on Thanksgiving day. We encourage everyone to register before Thanksgiving day. Registration - For each Turkey Trot participant, we request a $10 donation plus a food item from the Kid's Food Basket wish list (see the link below). The kids fun run is FREE and a donation is not necessary. The 5K is not chip-timed but there will be a clock at the finish line. The race will take place no matter what the weather is. Pigeon Hill's parking lot will be closed for the event. Course The start/finish is at Pigeon Hill Brewers Lounge. The route heads west on the Lakeshore Bike Trail toward Adelaide Point. At the halfway point, participants will return back to the Brewers Lounge following the same route in reverse. If you're up to the challenge, there is an optional "Turkey Leg" that will take athletes up and down the Coles Bakery hill. Tackling this leg will add 0.4 miles of distance to your run/walk. Reach the top of the hill to claim your prize. The Turkey Leg is just after the turnaround and volunteers will provide directions. Water Station There will be a water station at the 1.5 mile turnaround. Bathrooms There will be bathrooms outside and inside the Brewers Lounge. None on the 5k course. While we will do our best to use sand or salt to provide a safe start and finish area, the rest of the course will be left up to Mother Nature. We highly recommend bringing Yaktrax or ice spikes for your running shoes! 🚗 Where can I park? Parking is free in downtown Whitefish, and there is a parking garage located at 402 E Second St. Due to the anticipated number of participants, we strongly recommend carpooling if possible! 🏆 Are there awards? As this is primarily a fundraising event, there will be no cash prizes. This will be our 15th consecutive Wattle, and we are excited to offer a Primrose Children's Run, Turkey Leg 100-meter Run, and a 5K Walk/Run. All of this is set for November 26, 2026. Participants in the Turkey Leg 100-meter Run, and 5k Run/Walk will receive a Pumpkin Pie at the Finish. Long-sleeve shirts will also be given out at our early packet pick-up. This race consists of 1 mile walk/run, 5k, and 10k. The races begin at 9am in front of the ambulance building on 3rd street. The pre-registration charge is $30.00 for 13 years old and over and $15.00 for 12 years old and younger. This fee includes a t-shirt while supplies last. There is turkey rice soup afterwards and snacks at the ambulance building. The 5K (3.1 mile) race is a cross-country type race that will take you through our beautiful camp and around our lake. It has a mixture of paved, gravel, and grassy paths. Includes some hills. This year our event will be back to the usual format. We will have to 1/2 Mile Children’s Fun Run which stays on the main campus. The 5k race will follow this and the course will start inside the main part of camp and follow a route that will take runners around the lake and up through the woods of our camp.

The first 150 people to arrive at t-shirt pick up on Thanksgiving Eve will be guaranteed a 2025 Turkey Trot t-shirt. Sizes are first come, first serve. There will be throwback merchandise from past years available as well. We would also appreciate non perishable items for the food pantry at Golisano Children's Hospital. After Race Treat: Apple Cider and Cider Doughnuts from Hackett’s Orchard. Parking: Volunteer Green (near the playground before the bridge). IF THE GROUND IS DRY, feel free to use the lower space before the Round Church. We aim to keep the grass looking beautiful for our local community members. There will be no parking around the loop of the Round Church. Feel free to bring your strollers, but please leave your dogs at home! Port a-Potty: Near the start this year! Prizes: The top finishers of the in-person 5K will be eligible for a prize on the day of the race. We can't wait to see you at the T-TOWN TURKEY TROT! On Thanksgiving morning, join us for a 5K run or walk at 9:00 a.m. We welcome participants of all experience levels and ages! Furry friends on a leash are welcome, too! We are also stroller friendly. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to our local food pantry. Race route below!
