The Anchorage Running Club's season kickoff event features a 5K and 2.5K race on the trails at Russian Jack Park. Your Anchorage Running Club membership gives you 100% discount on this race, nonmembers pay $25. Join us for this fun race event where the course may have patches of snow left on it in some areas which makes it slightly different and a bit challenging.  Post race there is an award ceremony to give out Over All and Age Group awards as well as snacks, water, and Gatorade.

Ketchikan's first half marathon will **hopefully** return to its traditional route this year, beginning at Rotary Beach and ending at Potlach Park!  Runners, walkers and relay teams will begin at Rotary Beach (Bugge's Beach) and follow Tongass Highway along the water side, 13.1 miles and finish at Potlatch Park.  There is currently no major construction scheduled for Tongass Highway, so we are planning for the half marathon to follow the traditional coastal route along the highway from Rotary Beach, through beautiful downtown Ketchikan and ending north of town at Potlach Park. HOWEVER, construction activities are subject to change, and may disrupt the route again this year. If the route changes we will notify runners and walkers as soon as we are aware of changes. We appreciate your flexibility and understanding. Rest assured that regardless of Ketchikan construction, we will have a beautiful 13.1 mile Southeast Alaskan course with ocean and Totem views.    The event is open to

Stride for Sight Olympia Host Lions Club is hosting the second annual "Stride for Sight." This event offers 5k, 10k, and 1-mile options that are open to all ages and abilities. Course begins at Horizons Elementary and continues onto the Chehalis Western Trail. Our 5k and 10k courses are USATF Certified. Walkers, runners, and wheelchair rollers, are all welcome. The last Saturday of April each spring, over 10,000 Badgers descend downtown State Street to kick off the Crazylegs Classic. Not surprisingly, the idea for this event was hatched in late 1981 by three Badger loyalists at a campus bar. The three, Tom Grantham, Ken Sparks, and Rich Backus, wanted to raise money to support UW Athletics. As admirers of then- Athletic Director Elroy Hirsch, they asked his permission to name it the "Crazylegs Run" in his honor. The first race in 1982 attracted 1,525 runners and raised $9,500. The event grew in popularity and the walk was added in 1987 with 676 walkers the first year. The event has grown substantially reaching a record high of 20,415 in 2010. Since the inaugural race 43 years ago, it has attracted over 354,000 runners and walkers. Who We Are: Healthy Kids Running Series is a five (5) week running program in the spring and fall for kids Pre-K through 8th grade. Each HKRS Series takes place once a week and offers age-appropriate running events including the 50 & 75 yard dashes, the 1/4 mile, the 1/2 mile and the 1 mile run. Kids will earn points for each race they complete based on their finish. The Freedom Run 5K/10K is hosted annually by Georgia Southern University's Army ROTC program. The GlenVegas Gambler is at Lake Glendale Recreation Area. You can expect flow, chunky rocks and roots, lung and leg burning climbs and some of the fastest downhills in all of the Shawnee! These trails have been hand tuned and are maintained by members of the Shawnee Mountain Bike Association and other volunteers. These are the first trails to be designated for MTB use in the Shawnee National Forest and are some of the best riding we have in our area.. All proceeds from this race will support future trail building and maintenance by the Shawnee Mountain Bike Association.  Registration opens January 5th!
