Miles for Missions is an annual 1 Mile Fun Run and 5k with all proceeds going to support youth and their summer Mission Trip!  We are moving back to town!  With the growth of our run the last couple of years, parking has become more of an issue for our run.  We are so thankful that we have been able to partner with Spartan Fitness for the start and finish of our race.  This year we will move back to town to the church for the start and finish.  It will be at First Baptist Church, 404 Church St. Columbia LA 71418.  We are also going to have a family day following the race!  We will have food and lots of fun for the entire family.  This is an officially timed race. 1 Mile Fun Run will begin at 8:00 sharp.  5k will begin at 8:30 AM.    We do print extra shirts and purchase extra medals for race day but sizes are not guaranteed.  Everyone receives a finisher medal.  There is an overall prize for 1st place in Men's and Women's.  There is a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place medal for each age c

The money raised from the Rat Race will now go right back to BR athletics in attempts to improve our athletic facilities, keep highly qualified coaching staff, provide equipment for our athletes, provide an athletic trainer at all home events as well as help cover the cost for opportunities for our athletes to improve their skills and abilities outside the typical season.  This is a fundraising event so in efforts to keep cost low this will not be a chipped event. Runners will all have a BIB and the race will be timed. There are opportunities for individuals to get involved that are not interested in running too, check our sponsorship donations :). This is the sixth annual "Run For Her Life" virtual/in-person 5K, Half-Marathon, and Kid's Fun Run! The Phoenix Phase Initiative is an Iowa-based 501(c)3 non-profit dedicated to helping women who have been sexually trafficked around the world. These women are rarely given a chance to escape and, when they do get the chance, they RUN for it! The Phoenix Phase Initiative is there so they have a place to run to where they can be accepted, receive counseling, and learn job skills so they can break the cycle and create new lives for themselves and their children. Thumb Coast Ultra & Relay – April 25, 2026 Thumb Coast Ultra & Relay is a one-of-a-kind spring ultramarathon in Michigan’s Thumb. On Saturday, April 25, 2026, runners and ruckers will take on the challenge of racing from Lake Huron in Harbor Beach to Saginaw Bay in Caseville in the 50 Mile division—or team up with friends for the 50 Mile Relay. This is a 5k run and 1 mile dog walk to benefit the Humane Society of Calloway County. The 1 mile dog walk will be inside the Murray State Arboretum on the paved path. April is Amputee Awareness Month.  May 2026 will mark 5 years that I have been an amputee.  This event was created to raise awareness and support two groups that are important to me.  When I was in high school, I was a member of the track and cross-country teams.  Before my accident, I enjoyed running as a stress reliever and for exercise.  Working with kids is another passion of mine.  Nothing was going to stop me from getting back to teaching even after becoming an amputee.  Camp No-Limits is a camp for children who deal with being an amputee (https://www.nolimitsfoundation.org/). Feed ME 5k Walk to End Hunger Join us on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at 9 am in Capitol Park (YMCA side) as we walk to end hunger in Maine! Distance: A 3-mile walk on the Kennebec Valley Rail Trail. Richwood, Louisiana— On April 25, 2026, Kount Teens 2 Mentor will be hosting “Community Lupus Awareness Walk.” which is a fundraiser event in support for Lupus Awareness Month. The “Walk A Mile In Our Shoes” will be a family fun-filled event with impactful information for all who attend. The event will kick off with a 2K walk or ride followed by live music and a guest survivor testimony. Our goal is to advocate awareness, show support, and bring recognition to the many lupus warriors in our community living with this mysterious disease.  Registration begins at 7:00 am. The Hill's Great Rover Road Run (GRRR) is an annual 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run that promotes health and wellness amongst people and their four-legged friends all while raising money for the LSU Veterinary Teaching Hospital's Good Samaritan Fund. The Run for Jude 5K honors the memory of Jude Jawhar, who bravely battled Osteosarcoma for four years before passing away at the age of 18. Join us on Saturday, April 25, 2026, for a fun run- in color!  This is a run/walk for everyone!  1-101, we've got a spot for you! Take a lap around the field, run the mile, or run the 5k...it's totally up to you! Each registered participant will receive the Color Run t-shirt and a pair of sunglasses (let's protect those eyes from the sun AND the color powder!)!  These items will be available AT the run, during check in time. We recommend arriving 10-15 mins prior to the start of the race, to allow time to check in.   For those who may be unfamiliar with a color run, this is a fun run in which volunteers will toss colored powder on you while you run or walk by. It is a good idea to wear clothing that you don't mind getting dirty and getting color powder on...including your shoes!! The powder is simply colored cornstarch, so it should easily wash out. Can you complete a 5K before the Lawrence Community Orchestra string quartet finishes playing Beethoven's Opus 59, No. 3? Find out at this fun event supporting the orchestra and celebrating music and healthiness. Runners and walkers of all ages will start and finish in the Southwind Regal movie theatre parking lot. The route will cover a segment of the Lawrence Loop.
