Strides for Safety is a family-friendly, timed 5K at Winton Woods organized by Jane Holbrook, a high school junior living with severe food allergies. The event benefits food allergy awareness and advocacy. More than 1 in 13 children and 1 in 10 adults in the U.S. have a food allergy—over 33 million people. A food-allergic reaction sends someone to the emergency room every three minutes. Funds raised through this event support the Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Connection Team (FAACT), an organization dedicated to education and advocacy, while supporting families in Cincinnati and across the country living with life-threatening food allergies. Every 15 minutes a child born is being diagnosed with a congenital heart disease, the # 1 birth defect in children. On average, 40,000 children born are diagnosed with CHD. With the size of a walnut, many newborns undergo open-heart surgeries in the first few days of their life. It is a world-changing and heart-wrenching journey the loved ones of the child must face. There is no cure for it, only a temporary fix. This means these children go numerous heart surgeries during their lifetime. Many do not make it beyond their first year. Needless to say, one of the hardest battles the loved ones fight along with their little heart warrior. 14th Annual Run for the Titan Trail 5K Run/1 Mile Walk/Tot Run

The Running of the Bears

Vestal High School students and staff welcome you to our annual 5k road race for charity.  Proceeds from this race are donated to Team Hopefull: Fighting Prader-Willi Together.  Entry Fee: 1/2 Mile Fun Run (Ages 3-11) - FREE5k Walk or 5k Run: Adults $25.  Students $15   There will be a free half-mile fun run indoors for kids starting at 9:00 a.m. Then walkers start at 9:30 and runners begin the race at 10:00.
