Join The Great Root Movement at Erwin Park — Cutlass Challenge Last Person Standing event. The format is simple: one 4-mile loop every hour, on the hour. Keep showing up. Last one moving wins. Entry is $45 plus a $1 ante for every loop you start. The pot grows with every loop — and the last person standing takes it all. Cutlass is the flattest and fastest section of Erwin Park with only about 20 feet of gain per loop. This isn't about speed. It's about who refuses to stop. A whiteboard will be on-site at the start — runners check in and log each completed loop as they come through. As a bonus, we'll be giving away a few free race entries to our October Love Never Ends Trail Run. Our friend Katie Durst will be onsite as our photographer.  Water and ice will be provided on-site. Runners are responsible for their own fuel and nutrition. Bring a chair, cooler, and canopy to set up camp between loops — sharing canopies with friends is encouraged. About: The 21st Annual Run For The Children 10K/5K/1K Fun Run benefiting Virginia's House-Dr. Goodall's House will be held Saturday, April 25, 2026, at the downtown Square in Graham, Texas.  The 10K and 5K courses will take you through the heart of the downtown Square past the old Courthouse arch and around town. Rylen earned his angel wings on June 5, 2017, at only 13.5 months old, after a battle with Bacterial Meningitis. Little but Mighty, Rylen did not leave this earth untouched. Thanks to the medical advances in organ donation, Rylen was able to save 5 lives. We remember Rylen with everything ORANGE, a color of happiness! Our Mission at The Smilin' Rylen Foundation is to raise awareness about organ donation and to assist families in crisis. The 18th Annual Park to Park Half Marathon will take place on Saturday, April 25, 2026.  The point-to-point course takes its' runners from the town of Stuarts Draft, on a scenic trek; down country roads, past farmland and streams, and into the quaint city of Waynesboro, Virginia where the course ends in Ridgeview Park, along the South River. 32nd Annual Run the Tunnel is a 3.8ish Mile Road/Trail footrace hosted by the State of Franklin Track Club and the Scott County Chamber of Commerce, held at the beautiful Natural Tunnel State Park in Duffield, VA Run the Tunnel is part of the State of Franklin Track Club's King & Queen and Trail Series competitions. Awards will be given to the male and female winners in the following categories:  Overall, Masters, Grandmasters, and Senior Grandmasters.  Awards will also be given (three deep) for both male and female in the following age groups:  19 & Under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80 & Above. Awards are not traditional trophies or medals but items base on the race "theme of the year."  For example, the theme for 2025 was "Don't worry, you've got this 'in the bag' and overall and age-group winners received a handmade zippered shoe bag with the SFTC logo.  The 2026 race theme will be announced after the first of the year. This 5k walk/run aims to raise funds for the Elizabeth “Betty” Walton endowment so that more students can benefit from her memorial scholarship annually. Elizabeth “Betty” Walton had a profoundly inspirational and impactful career as an Intelligence Analyst. Her work ethic, intellect, persona, and dedication to protecting the nation were unparalleled. It is with great sadness that Betty lost her battle with cancer in 2018. In her memory, JMU Intelligence Analysis (IA) professor and husband of Betty, Dr. Tim Walton, established an annual scholarship. Each year, the scholarship is awarded to a highly motivated IA student from an underrepresented population within the IA program, following in Betty’s footsteps. Get some miles in at this family-friendly run/walk! Timed events: 5K, 10K or 1 mile options that will take you through Historic Downtown Cape Charles, overlooking the Chesapeake Bay. Start times will be STAGGERED for the 1 Mile (9:00 AM), 10K (9:15 AM) and 5K (9:30 AM). All events require registration and include a t-shirt, timed event,  post-run-party with music, kids' activities, snacks, and a finisher medal (4th in a series of 4). Participants can opt to participate in the color zone and be sprayed with bright, fun, harmless, and environmentally safe colors. This color zone will be available for all events: 10k, 5k, and 1 mile. Nearly all of the park’s 2,000 acres will be on display, as the course hits every corner on a unique and challenging loop. Rolling hills will have you climbing wooded ridges, traversing lakeside trails, and descending through groves of hemlock. The Western Region 5K Walk/Run is a signature community event within the Make Moves Against Breast Cancer (MMABC) statewide campaign. Held on the scenic Huckleberry Trail in Blacksburg, this event brings together individuals, families, and local organizations to make moves in the fight against breast cancer. Serving as both a regional fundraiser and a model for future community-led MMABC walks across Virginia, this event blends accessibility, physical activity, and community spirit with meaningful local impact. Participants of all ages and abilities are invited to move at their own pace while supporting breast cancer awareness and programs. Registrants will create a personal fundraising page and are encouraged to raise $300 individually or $500 to $1,000 as a team.
