Welcome to the BAT 5 Miler at the breathtaking Rocky Fork State Park! Whether you're chasing a personal record or taking in the scenic beauty of East Tennessee, this out-and-back course offers a simple, rewarding, and challenging run. 🏃 Course Overview The BAT 5 Miler is a straightforward 2.5-mile out-and-back course along the paved road winding through Rocky Fork State Park. You will start at the park entrance area, head 2.5 miles steadily uphill, make the turnaround, and enjoy a fast, coasting descent all the way back to the finish line. Distance: 5 (ish) Miles Terrain: Paved park road (gradual incline on the way up, fast downhill on the way back) Location: Rocky Fork State Park, Flag Pond, TN ⚠️ Important Race Details & Safety Traffic Notice: The park road will remain open to vehicular traffic during the race. Please stay to the side of the road, remain aware of your surroundings, and yield to incoming vehicles. ⏱️ Start Times Prompt Start: The main race begins promptly at 11:00 AM. Early Start (10:00 AM): If you anticipate running/walking a pace slower than 13:00 min/mile, please take advantage of the 10:00 AM early start to ensure full course support and an accurate finish time. 💧 Aid Station There is one aid station located near Mile 2. Because this is an out-and-back course, you will pass this same station again shortly after making your turnaround (around Mile 3). Hydration is available, but carrying a personal handheld bottle or hydration vest is always encouraged!
