Two-day adult sailing classes are offered most weekends from 9 am to 4 pm at Fiddler's Cove Marina. Classes are open to all eligible MWR patrons and sponsored guests. Minimum age requirement is 16 years or older with a parent or guardian. Class fees per person vary by military affiliation and rank. Dependent fees are calculated at the sponsoring active duty or retiree rate. Pre-registration is required as classes can fill up quickly. Registration includes boat rental, instruction, and textbooks. Students per boat will be kept to the minimum amount possible in order to maximize learning potential and will range from one to four. Number of students per boat is dependent on the boat size, sailing conditions and the skills being developed in the class. Supporting the Imagination Library in Palm Beach County Now in its 5th year, 100% of proceeds from the Run for Reading 5k support Dolly Parton's Imagination Library in Palm Beach County. The Imagination Library mails one book per month, completely free for families, to children from birth through the month of their fifth birthday.  The Palm Beach County Imagination Library is the local program partner of the Imagination Library, and it has gifted more than 35,000 books to children in Palm Beach County. The Run for Reading 5k is family-friendly, and welcomes walkers, runners, strollers, and dogs on leashes. Teams are encouraged, and costumes and themed outfits are also welcome. The 5th Annual Central Florida Heroes 5K will be held at the Tom Fellows Community Center in Davenport. This promises to be a fun event that you can enjoy with your friends and family. The Central Florida Heroes 5K will begin at 7:30 am with much pomp-and-circumstance as we celebrate the heroes among us. We will honor veterans, active military, firefighters, law enforcement officers, first responders, teachers and healthcare professionals as we gather on Veterans Day weekend. St Francis Hospice presents the D.A.S.H In Life 5K on Saturday, November 07, 2026 at 7:30 AM! Join us in honoring Veterans with Devotion Admiration Service and Honor at the DASH in Life 5K benefiting St. Francis Hospice. Together, we will ensure they feel the gratitude of our nation for their service. The unique nature of those who serve in the military is paramount to St. Francis Hospice as we help each Veteran live out their own journey on the Sunset Road the best they can. This DASH honors those whose DASH has overlapped ours. You and your team can run in honor or memory of a Veteran. You can walk, run, march, skip and you can even spirit run the event.
