Play It Forward Spring Running Clinics

Durham, NC
Play it Forward, an inclusive initiative to promote physical fitness, teamwork, and community engagement, particularly for underprivileged youth in the Durham public school system. This free program will be accessible to all children aged 5-13, regardless of financial background, addressing the inequities of traditional “pay to play” sports. The program will include two winter sessions and more in the spring where children participate in a structured running clinic that teaches running basics, warm-ups and cool-downs, pacing, and essential life skills like goal-setting. Each child will set a personal running goal and participate in milestone challenges, culminating in a fundraiser race to celebrate their achievements. We aim to serve three distinct groups: underprivileged youth, children with disabilities, and those facing barriers to sports participation. We'll provide t-shirts to foster team spirit and unity. Breathe Strong: Break the Stigma

Columbus, OH
Breathe Strong 5K is more than a run or walk—it’s a movement to honor lives touched by lung cancer and to fight for a future with earlier detection, better treatments, and stronger support. Lung cancer remains one of the leading causes of cancer-related deaths and often shows little to no warning until it has progressed, making awareness and education lifesaving. At the event, we will provide critical information about lung cancer risks, warning signs, screening, and information on support resources for patients and families. All proceeds from the Breathe Strong 5K will directly support lung cancer research and family support groups through a donation to the Blue Beautiful Skies Fund for Lung Cancer research at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center- The James. Donations help fund breakthroughs, offer hope, and remind everyone that they don't face this disease alone. Together, we walk to remember, to educate, and to help every breath count. McKirdy Micro Race Series: MicrOTQ

Valley Cottage, NY
A Race Series Designed by Runners, for RunnersIn 2021 we created the McKirdy Micro Marathon series to help athletes run a personal best and qualify for the Boston Marathon or beyond. At the time, we were just coming out of the COVID-19 pandemic where opportunities to run fast times were limited and motivation to continue training was difficult with no races on the calendar. In 2023, we took the same concept and applied it at an elite level, hosting a race for athletes targeting the USATF Olympic Trials Qualifying Standard (OTQ) or the Olympic Standard. Many “on the cusp” athletes find they have limited options for races that are both fast and will provide the support they need to run their best.Athletes from all over the world came to participate in a small localized race with the potential for massive impact. When the day was done: 48 athletes ran under the 2:18:00/2:37:00 OTQ StandardMore OTQs came from our race than any other race in 2023Our race produced 2 Olympians69% of the fin
