Run Friends Run 5k is a race through the beautiful 54-acre campus of Friends Meeting School (FMS) and the surrounding neighborhood. The chip-timed 5k is part cross-country (on campus) and part road race. The pet-friendly, 1-mile, untimed, fun run takes place on campus. Coordinated by FMS parent volunteers, this event celebrates the benefits of physical exercise and community, and it raises money to support the school’s academic programs and staff.

This is a chip timing practice race. FSRC Race Services uses these low key events to test new and updated timing software and give team members a chance to learn and practice in a non-critical environment. YOU can help by joining us. We're limiting this to 40 participants, so don't delay. We will have a waiting list, so if you register and find you cannot make it, please let us know so someone on the wait list can be added. This year, AdvocaSAY invites you to take the next step with us as we come together for our 2nd Annual 5K Walk/Run: “Moving for Change.” Moving for Change represents our commitment to turning advocacy into meaningful action. Route Layout (Overview) The 3.5 mile course is a loop, starting and ending at the Hoxie School. The course follows paved public roads, a designated campground road, and the Cape Cod Canal bike path. 🟢 Start/Finish Area – Ella F. Hoxie School Start line and finish arch located in front of the Hoxie School. ➡️ Segment 1: Williston Road to Scusset Beach Road Runners leave the Hoxie, turn right on Williston Road. Proceed north on Williston, then turn right onto Scusset Beach Road. Runners will stay to the right shoulder. Volunteers with signs will be placed at intersections. ➡️ Segment 2: Scusset Beach Road to Campground Follow Scusset Beach Road to the entrance of Scusset Beach Campground. Runners will enter and continue through the internal paved road loop. ➡️ Segment 3: Campground to Canal Path Runners exit the campground via the footpath and transition onto the Cape Cod Canal Bike Path. The route turns right onto the canal path, heading toward the Sagamore Bridge. ➡️ Segment 4: Canal Path to Williston Road Runners remain on the canal path until reaching the footpath connector to Williston Road. Course turns right back onto Williston Road for the final stretch. 🔁 Finish Line: Return to Hoxie School Runners head back up Williston Road and turn right to finish where they started.

Last fall, friends, families, and community members came together once again to support the Turkey Trot 5k Run/Walk for runners of all experience by showing up to run, walk, or cheer. We were able to raise $4117.37 with funds split between two local food pantries in the Orange and Athol Area! It's hard to believe that this will be our 3rd year putting on this amazing event in hopes of continuing our mission of battling food insecurity in our area. This is an out and back run on FLAT roads that are mostly paved. Those running the 10k will get some hard-packed gravel road for a stretch. Both the 5k and 10k routes begin the track of St Peter Lutheran School (behind the church) and head north along Raucholz Rd. The 5k turns around between Frost and Dice Roads. The 10k turns right on Pangborn and turns around short of N Fordney Rd before heading back. Both routes will turn right on Lunney Rd in front of St Peter Lutheran School before turning into the parking lot of St Peter Lutheran Church and ending a jaunt around the track to the finish line. REFUND AND TRANSFER POLICY We completely understand that plans change and athletes will sometimes be unable to compete in an event they've signed up for. We also understand that registering for one of our events is a financial investment in that race. We accept your registration funds with the full intention of putting on the promised event with the listed amenities and we use your registration funds to pay for the necessary items and services needed to host the event. With that in mind, refunds will not be provided for this event unless the event is cancelled for reasons within our control. The following are examples (but not limited to) of reasons an event might be canceled that are NOT within our control: Dangerous weather; natural disasters; pandemics; acts of terrorism; local emergencies; government mandates; and any situation creating a threat to safety of participants, volunteers, staff or bystanders. Baby joggers are allowed on both the 10k and 5k course, though we ask that participants remain to the rear of the pack at start and remain considerate of other participants. Regular strollers may be used for the 5k run/walk, but again we would ask that participants pushing strollers remain to the rear of the pack at start of the race. What does “USATF Sanctioning” mean? It means that organizers have followed a process with USA Track & Field that requires creation of a safety plan and purchase of outstanding insurance covering participants, volunteers, sponsors, partners and organizers of the event. It also means that your race results will be official for scoring purposes (assuming you track that sort of thing). What happens if the event is cancelled? Will I receive a refund? If the race is cancelled for reasons Organizers can control then we will work diligently to provide a refund or transfer of registration to another event. However, cancellation due to government regulations, extreme weather or local emergency is not controlled by organizers and is not reason for reimbursement. We WILL however, attempt to push start of the race back in 30-minute increments until the emergency dissipates and it is deemed safe to race. Please read Refund and Transfer Policy above.

Ridgeland Recreation and Parks is hosting a fundraising bike ride to support the Children’s of Mississippi Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders. Freedom Isn't Free - Earn Every Mile Salute Red White & Blue will start and finish in Hattiesburg, Mississippi at Camp Shelby in front of the Mississippi Armed Forces Museum (Building, 850 Forrest Ave W, Hattiesburg, MS 39407). Athletes can choose to run or walk the challenging 11 mile course, the 11K course, or the 5K course. All three courses will be on paved roads. All finishers will earn a medallion/medal. Schedule of events: The race starts this Saturday, Nov. 8th at 8:00 am in front of the Mississippi Armed Forces Museum, 850 Forrest Ave W, Hattiesburg, MS 39407. Here is the race day schedule: 6:30-7:30 am packet pick up 7:35 am group photo of all the participants in front of the museum where it has MS Armed Forces Museum letters on the building 7:40-7:45am all distances line up at the starting line (fast runners up front, then party pace runners, and lastly all walkers. ENTERING CAMP SHELBY: Getting on base at Camp Shelby will be easy for our athletes. YOUR bib number is your entrance into the SOUTH GATE. If you have family and friends coming with you and riding in the same car, they will be able to enter by YOU showing your bib number at the gate. If they are coming separately, they will need to stop at the visitor center, which is a small brown building to the right before entering the gate. They must show a valid ID and get vetted by the visitor center. Then and only then will they be able to enter Camp Shelby. The guard at the gate will direct you towards the parking area along with volunteers stationed on the roads. The parking lot is about a 5 minute walk to the start line so plan accordingly. Finish Line Party: The Finisher's party is on the parade field at the finish line. We will be grilling hamburgers and hot dogs for our athletes and have chips and an array of beverages. There will be a POP UP bar compliments of Southern Beverage will alcoholic beverages. YOU MUST BE 21 to drink the adult beverages. Family and friends are welcome to enjoy the finisher's party with you. However, the food and beverages are just for the athletes so make sure your family plans accordingly. Additional Information: The parade field is a BIG open grass field so please feel free to bring a towel, blanket, or chair. *The museum is free to all including friends and family and will open at 9:00 am. **Please note, we will be marking courses, manning packet pick ups, and setting up for race day starting Wednesday, Nov. 5th so if you have a questions PLEASE REFER TO THE WEBSITE or PHONE A FRIEND. This race supports the Mississippi Youth ChalleNGe Academy at Camp Shelby. The Youth Challenge Program is a program for at-risk youth run by the National Guard of the United States (which is why the NG in ChalleNGe is either: Capitalized, Italicized, Bolded or all of the above), which consists of Youth ChalleNGe Academies (known as YCA's) in each participating state. The stated mission of the Youth Challenge Program is "to intervene in and reclaim the lives of at-risk youth to produce program graduates with the values, skills, education and self-discipline necessary to succeed as adults." The program accepts 16- to 18-year-old male and female high school dropouts who are drug-free and not in trouble with the law. The program lasts for 17½ months. The first 5½ months are part of the quasi-military Residential Phase. The last 12 months are part of the Post-Residential Phase. Most participants will earn their GED or a high school diploma by the end of their Residential Phase. US Road Running Races US Road Running races are built for runners and walkers who like friendly, low-pressure race days with just enough competition to keep things exciting. Join us for the 11th Annual Veterans Day 5K at Soldier's Memorial in Downtown St. Louis on Saturday, November 7, 2026! We welcome wheelchairs, strollers, and dogs on the race path, too! All proceeds from the event go to St. Patrick Center, a ministry of Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of St. Louis, where their purpose is to transform lives through sustainable housing, employment, and healthcare. Last year, because of the generous contributions of our donors, sponsors, and volunteers, the agency assisted 4,223 clients total, of which 813 were Veterans. St. Patrick Center was able to connect 89 veterans with jobs and place 743 veterans and their families in permanent housing. All because of the support of our donors, sponsors and volunteers, several programs are dedicated solely to helping Veterans and their families get back on their feet. Through their contributions, Project HERO, in partnership with the Missouri Department of Mental Health and the U.S. Veterans Administration, is able to work with Veterans to improve their overall quality of life through mental health counseling, transportation access, and employment services. This program is housed at Freedom Place, a 50-unit apartment complex reserved for male Veterans experiencing homelessness along with substance abuse disorders and/or mental health issues. Due to these efforts, the St. Louis community becomes a better place for everyone to live and work because of the lives transformed through sustainable housing, employment, and healthcare. As part of our Veterans Day 5K Run/Walk this year, we are including an option for you to participate in our Fundraiser to End Veteran Homelessness. They love their family time together, including anything related to soccer and traveling to various destinations, cherishing every memory they make along the way. In April of 2023, Jean and Brian noticed their son Nolan was experiencing ongoing GI issues, which were originally diagnosed as Celiac. When the symptoms did not subside, they sought further testing at CHOP to determine a more accurate diagnosis, and in late May 2023 received information that no parent is prepared to receive…Nolan had a tumor at the base of his brain known as ependymoma. Doctors were able to operate immediately and remove the tumor, with multiple rounds of radiation to follow. Due to the location of the tumor, Nolan’s speech, vision, and balance were affected. Still, with time and physical/occupational therapy, he was able to improve. For the foreseeable future, Nolan would receive routine scans and testing to monitor his condition. In October of 2025, after 2.5 years of clean scans, Nolan started experiencing new symptoms. Following testing, results showed that a brain tumor had returned to a different location, as well as tumors around the spine. When ependymoma returns and shows presence in the spine it becomes difficult to treat, but Nolan is a fighter. He has had surgery to remove as much of the tumor as possible, received chemo treatments, and is participating in a clinical trial with various medications used to attack cancer cells. Nolan is taking everything in stride and continues to impress all of those around him with his courage and strength. Nolan is currently ready to begin middle school as a 6th grader. He loves playing sports, including soccer, flag football, and kickball - just to name a few – in addition to playing Dungeons and Dragons and Roblox with his friends. Nolan is very outgoing, strong, and certainly resilient. Whatever Nolan is doing, he is thoughtful in his approach and always brings great energy and enthusiasm. Please help us support Nolan and the O’Brien family so they can focus on getting Nolan back to his energic, life-loving self. With your help, we hope to soften the financial burden for their family and bring some much needed love and light into their lives during this very difficult time.

Audubon Community Nature Center's Wild 5k run/walk is back! Fall is a great time to experience Audubon’s trails. The run/walk course takes participants through shady hemlock forests, over boardwalks, past fields, and back to the Nature Center. Audubon’s trail system is in a glacial valley, which makes the trail exceptionally flat. The course starts out on a 12-foot-wide maintenance road before narrowing to 6-foot-wide trails further on. The course is well-marked with white arrows. Come run, walk, stroll, or saunter to support Audubon. This year, money raised in the Wild 5k will support care for our Animal Ambassadors, including our three birds-of-prey.

The Saratoga County Veterans Service Agency and Board of Supervisors invites you to the 14th Annual Saratoga County Veterans Trust Fund 5K Race and children’s Fun Run. We have a great location and course which is relatively flat and fast. It begins at Fort Hardy Park in Schuylerville and traverses the historic tow path north and across the canal to Hudson Crossing Park. Following a gentle loop around the Hudson Crossing Park field the course then enters the nature path along the Hudson River. The return is again on the tow path ending with refreshments and ceremonies at a Fort Hardy Park. All runners receive a great runner tee shirt**, refreshments, and hamburgers and hotdogs after the race provided by the Saratoga County American Legion Posts. *There will be a shorter distance kids fun run directly following the 5k. HISTORY: The 5k running course takes you past the Champlain Canal Lock C5 in the Hudson Cross Park. In 1777, British General John Burgoyne led several thousand British and German soldiers across the river at this location to engage American forces on his quest south to conquer Albany. To cross the river, soldiers lashed together a number of flat-bottomed wooden crafts to form a floating “Bridge of Boats,” and then marched across. The resulting Battles of Saratoga are considered to be sparks that precipitated a turning point in the war and to eventual victory for the Americans. We are excited to join with the Saratoga County 250th Commission to celebrate this historic site, and the commemorate the 250th Anniversary of the Battles at Saratoga, "America's Turning Point". The Saratoga County 250th American Revolution Commission consists of 13 official members (in honor of the 13 original colonies) tasked with planning and organizing all ceremonies, events, activities and celebrations recognizing the 250th Anniversary of the American Revolution in Saratoga County. Veterans 4K XC Race The Northport Running Club presents the 46th Annual Veterans Day 4K Cross Country Race. The race will be held at the Veterans Administration Medical Center Golf Course, 79 Middleville Road, Northport NY! There will be a timed and untimed 5K option, as well as an untimed 1-mile fun run and a virtual event option for people that can't make it the day of the race. The 1- mile fun run starts at 5:30pm and the 5K starts at 6:15pm. Registration will open the afternoon of the race at 4:15pm.
