A salute to Vets to kick off Veteran's Week and to raise funds for Alamosa's Veterans Memorial Park. Join us for the 5th Annual Veterans Memorial Park Race. 5k and 10k race options are available. The race will once again start and end at the Alamosa Family Recreation Center, 2222 Old Sanford Rd, Alamosa, CO 81101. The 10k race repeats 5k lap twice. The race route is to be determined and will be posted as soon as it's finalized. Food, drinks, and an awards ceremony will follow the race. Walkers, runners, and strollers are welcome!. Our community is the only city in the nation to follow the old tradition of ringing bells throughout the town in the early morning hours of Veteran’s Day. This race will mimic some of those old traditions to honor our nation's veteran community. We are honored to be part of this event and look forward to the engagement of the families in Loveland. Ride the hidden, unridden, and forbidden San Diego to support pancreatic cancer research!  Cycle through scenic areas of San Diego on November 8th to support pancreatic cancer research in the 12th Annual Jim Krause Memorial Charity Cycling Ride the Point. The ride starts and ends at Liberty Station and includes exclusive routes through Point Loma, Ocean Beach, Mission Bay La Jolla, Torrey Pines, and Sorrento Valley. This ride takes participants through historic neighborhoods and past some of the most scenic areas of San Diego, some that are only open once a year for this event. This race is put on by the Knights of Columbus Council 10232 and Council 17519 of Madison. 100% of the proceeds goes to Madison City Schools. This is part of a nationwide campaign put on by the Knights of Columbus.   Since we support the whole of Madison City Schools, the race begins and ends at the Madison City Stadium next to the Madison City Schools admin building and runs through downtown Madison. D.C. has over 500 homeless veterans living on the streets or temporary housing facilities. During the winter months, these veterans face extreme cold out in the elements and have no where to turn for support and a hot meal. The Feed a Veteran 5K on Saturday, November 7, 2026 is a fun 3.1 mile road race on an enclosure golf car path of Old Hickory Golf Course in Woodbridge, VA. The race is organized with community partners to raise money and provide hot food and winter survival kits for the homeless veterans in DC and provide suicide prevention programs for veterans. What makes this race incredibly unique is that after the race, all participants and volunteers will have the opportunity to assemble sandwiches and soup that will be delivered to these homeless veterans the afternoon after the race! The Mayodan Lions Club will host “Strides for Diabetes Awareness, 5K and 1 mile fun run” to raise funds and awareness in our local community. The concept is simple, run or walk a 5K course and 100% of the proceeds from our fundraising will aid diabetes camp, low boxes, and donations to Rockingham County School nurses to assist diabetic students. The Beaufort Lions Club is pleased to announce our 8th Annual Beaufort Bridge Run 5K Race and 1+ Mile Dog Strut on November 7, 2026, with the course going on and over the two bridges in Beaufort. These events are the only ones to feature both Beaufort bridges – the high-rise Gallants Channel (Grayden Paul) Bridge and the Turner Street Bridge. With this run/walk event, the Beaufort Lions Club will be starting our 2nd decade of fundraising road races. The Scott Sterrett Memorial Race Weekend returns on Saturday, November 7th, 2026. We are continuing the traditions you love: 5K, 10K, scenic Half Marathon, Hero Bibs, and incredible race swag! Scott Sterrett was a reserve officer for the City of Cedar Falls beginning in May of 2005. Scott was a member of Nazareth Lutheran Church.  He was an avid runner participating in 23 marathons total, the Boston Marathon twice, and the Chicago and Dallas Marathons multiple times.  In addition to his passion for running, Scott had a passion for being a reserve officer with the Cedar Falls Police Department and serving his community. In 2018, Scott passed away after a fight with pancreatic cancer. This event is dedicated to Scott. A portion of the proceeds from the event will be put into a scholarship for local seniors who plan to pursue a career as a first responder. Our goal for this event is to continue to build a strong relationship between the community and those that serve us every day.
