A salute to Vets to kick off Veteran's Week and to raise funds for Alamosa's Veterans Memorial Park. Join us for the 5th Annual Veterans Memorial Park Race. 5k and 10k race options are available. The race will once again start and end at the Alamosa Family Recreation Center, 2222 Old Sanford Rd, Alamosa, CO 81101. The 10k race repeats 5k lap twice. Our community is the only city in the nation to follow the old tradition of ringing bells throughout the town in the early morning hours of Veteran’s Day. This race will mimic some of those old traditions to honor our nation's veteran community. We are honored to be part of this event and look forward to the engagement of the families in Loveland. Ride the hidden, unridden, and forbidden San Diego to support pancreatic cancer research!  Cycle through scenic areas of San Diego on November 8th to support pancreatic cancer research in the 12th Annual Jim Krause Memorial Charity Cycling Ride the Point. The ride starts and ends at Liberty Station and includes exclusive routes through Point Loma, Ocean Beach, Mission Bay La Jolla, Torrey Pines, and Sorrento Valley. This ride takes participants through historic neighborhoods and past some of the most scenic areas of San Diego, some that are only open once a year for this event. This race is put on by the Knights of Columbus Council 10232 and Council 17519 of Madison. 100% of the proceeds goes to Madison City Schools. This is part of a nationwide campaign put on by the Knights of Columbus.   Since we support the whole of Madison City Schools, the race begins and ends at the Madison City Stadium next to the Madison City Schools admin building and runs through downtown Madison. This run is in memory of Bob Gurtler, former mayor of the Plains, chemical engineer(rocket scientist) and life long runner. As a member of many running clubs. He mentored many beginning runner, supported the running community, and advocated for the health and well being of all.  The race starts at 8am at Grace Episcopal Church in the Plains, Va. and proceeds through town and down to Hopewell road. It continues to the halfway point and returns on the same course back to the church where it finish.  All proceeds go to the local food pantry, Peas & Grace.

The Noland Trail 50K & Relay gives runners the opportunity to race the ONLY event run on the beautiful Noland Trail in The Mariners’ Museum Park. The 50K will consist of 6 laps on the trail, and a short section of course before and after each trail lap. Relay teams can be made up of 2-6 team members, and take on the 6 laps together. LOWVELO is an annual fundraising event that rallies the community for one great cause – funding lifesaving cancer research at MUSC Hollings Cancer Center, the only National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center in South Carolina. Our goal is to eradicate cancer by supporting research at Hollings that investigates new treatments and promising approaches to finding cures. 100% of every participant-raised dollar from this grassroots event goes directly to cancer research.  Participation is open to all ages for the 7- and 14-mile rides, age 13 and up for the Spin® classes, age 14 and up for the 23- and 50-mile rides and age 16 and up for the 80-mile ride. The BEER & BAGEL OFF-ROAD RACE SERIES is coming back to Yeager’s Farm & Market in Phoenixville, PA. with a new twist.  For 2026, we are introducing two new events making this a 2-day race weekend. The 12th annual Granite City 5K Run/Walk for Veterans | Saturday, November 7, 2026.  The Granite City 5k Run/Walk is to celebrate the service people in our armed forces and raise awareness of the many challenges veterans endure. This event is produced in collaboration with The Barre Partnership, the Sons of the American Legion Squadron #10 and Barre Elks Lodge #1535.

It began with Lt Col Dan Rooney’s flight home from his second tour of duty in Iraq. An F-16 fighter pilot in the Oklahoma Air National Guard, he became painfully aware of the realities families face when a loved one in uniform is fallen or disabled. As his flight landed, the pilot announced they carried the remains of Corporal Brock Bucklin on board. Lt Col Rooney watched as Corporal Bucklin’s twin brother walked somberly alongside the flag-covered casket to meet his family on the tarmac. Among them was the deceased Corporal’s young son, Jacob. Since that night, Lt Col Rooney has committed his life to rallying patriotic Americans and meeting sacrifice with hope through the Folds of Honor. Since 2007, Folds of Honor has provided life-changing scholarships to the spouses and children of fallen or disabled military and first responders. On our watch, those who protect our freedoms and our families will know they are not forgotten.

A History of the MCL/TEL Semper Fi 5K Charity Run for Children The origin of the run was as a fundraiser for the children and families of the Marines and Sailors who had perished in the Marine Barracks Beirut, Lebanon terrorist bombing attack on October 23, 1983. Marine 1stLt Chris Holzworth, having recently reported to the Marine Air Training and Support Group-21 (MATSG-21), Naval Air Station Pensacola, for flight training, presented the idea for the charity run to the CommandingOfficer, Colonel Robert “Bull” Bland, USMC. MATSG-21 adopted the idea and became the first sponsor of the event, initially named The Beirut Relief 10K Run. Colonel Bland assigned 1st Lt Chris Holzworth, who had initiated the idea, as the first Race Director. NAS Pensacola hosted the first run on Armed Forces Day in May 1984 with Brigadier General Joseph Hoar, USMC representing Headquarters Marine Corps and receiving the proceeds of the race. This race is the oldest annual race in Polk County and runs on residential streets and paved running paths through the Lakeland chain of lakes and the historic Lake Morton district, encompassing three lakes during the course. You'll also be able to see Lakeland's iconic swans on Lake Morton.Walkers are welcome at this event, there is a minimum pace requirement of 16:00 min/mile. The race will be a wonderful run in McDonough, GA, Henry County through the Lake Dow and Lake Dow Estates communities. All proceeds from the race will go directly to Mighty Hero Homes. Henry County is the scheduled location for the first Mighty Hero Community construction. All proceeds from this race will go to Mighty Hero Homes Organization. This special event honors our veterans and active-duty service members and is part of the Wisconsin Chilly Willy Winter Run Series. Join hundreds of runners as you make your way through the beautiful Veterans Park in the only race that starts and finishes on Mason Street, right in front of the War Memorial.
