Waldenwoods Turkey Trot - Hartland Area Project Fundraiser

This gorgeous trail race benefits the Hartland Area Project, 10am Sunday, November 1st, 2026.  The race trail winds around Lake Walden with a start and finish at Waldenwoods Resort & Conference Center, the crown jewel of Livingston County (established in 1924).  Registration is $30 until Oct 20th, $35 until Nov 2nd, and $40 day of race. Dan Healy Memorial 5K

SCPO DANIEL R. HEALY Senior Chief Petty Officer Daniel R. Healy, US Navy SEAL, BUD/S Class 176, SEAL Delivery Vehicle Team One, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, was born on July 17, 1968 in Exeter, NH and KIA in the Hindu Kush mountains of Kunar Province, Afghanistan on June 28, 2005 during Operation Red Wings. SCPO Healy was lost when the MH-47 helicopter he was aboard on a rescue mission was shot down when going to the aid of a team of four SEALs on a reconnaissance mission who were embroiled in a battle with a larger force of the Taliban.  When word got back to base about their plight, their fellow SEALs went into action filling two helicopters to go to their aid.  Due to his rank as a Senior Chief Petty Officer, Dan Healy did not have to go on that mission, but he insisted.  Taking men off of the lead helicopter SCPO Healy told the others “Those are my men and my face is going to be the first one they see”. For his actions, SCPO Healy was posthumously awarded the Bronze Star with Combat “V” f

This chip timed 10k starts and finishes at the Putnam County Junior High School located at 13183 N 350th Ave, McNabb, IL 61335. It is an out and back 10k on nicely paved county roads surrounded by beautiful country scenery. It is possible to see deer, turkey, and eagles while running. The course is a mix of hills and flat areas. Water stations will be available on the course. Strollers and walkers welcome, but please no headphones. There will be volunteers at each mile marker and intersection for traffic control, but the course will be open to local traffic. Emergency crew coverage available. There is a two-hour time limit on the course. Post-race food and beverages provided. Race sweatshirt guaranteed to all participants who are pre-registered by October 11th, 2026. 38th Annual Prospect Park Fall Duathlon

Race Start Time and Location: Here we are at the last race of our 2026 season! On 11/1, we are back in Brooklyn one last time for our Prospect Park Fall Duathlon! This is the perfect way to end our 2026 season with beautiful Fall weather and foliage throughout the park. As is tradition, we will have our post race BBQ as well, so bring your appetite. Just like our April edition of the race, you are running the entire outer loop of the park in your 2nd run, all 3.3 miles with 140ft elevation gain! Here is what you can expect on race day. At 7:30 am the race will start in Lincoln Field by the triangle grass area by the Well House Dr (E Lake Dr and Lincoln Rd entrance). Run #1 beginning at 7:30 am is a fast loop around the park’s inner circle. Athletes will set out along East Dr and make a left through Center Dr, where you will cut across the park, exiting west side. With little gain in elevation you’ll head around Prospect Park Lake where you will pick up speed as you head in for the bike

The FISM immediately became the largest skate race in Florida; and of the largest in the nation. A History of the MCL/TEL Semper Fi 5K Charity Run for Children The origin of the run was as a fundraiser for the children and families of the Marines and Sailors who had perished in the Marine Barracks Beirut, Lebanon terrorist bombing attack on October 23, 1983. Marine 1stLt Chris Holzworth, having recently reported to the Marine Air Training and Support Group-21 (MATSG-21), Naval Air Station Pensacola, for flight training, presented the idea for the charity run to the CommandingOfficer, Colonel Robert “Bull” Bland, USMC. MATSG-21 adopted the idea and became the first sponsor of the event, initially named The Beirut Relief 10K Run. Colonel Bland assigned 1st Lt Chris Holzworth, who had initiated the idea, as the first Race Director. NAS Pensacola hosted the first run on Armed Forces Day in May 1984 with Brigadier General Joseph Hoar, USMC representing Headquarters Marine Corps and receiving the proceeds of the race.
