Food for Others Tysons 5K & Fun Run

Tysons, VA
There are over 1.2 million people in the DMV region who identify as food insecure. In Fairfax County, there are over 105,000 people who are food insecure alone. With this being one of the most affluent areas in the nation, this news is shocking. Due to the lingering effects of COVID and the impact of inflation, food banks and pantries around the region are seeing the demand for services drastically increase. We need your support now more than ever.  The Food for Others Tysons 5K & Fun Run on Saturday, September 26th brings together the local community for a morning spent raising awareness around food insecurity here in NOVA. What makes this race incredibly unique is that after the race, all participants and volunteers will have the opportunity to write inspirational messages that will be shared with students participating in our Power Pack Program that provides weekend meal packs to over 3,900 students EACH week throughout the school year.  LOCATION: PenFed Plaza at Tysons Corner C

2026 Mogadishu Mile 10K/5K/Fun Run (Ranger Memorial Triad)

El Paso, TX
On 3–4 Oct 1993 U.S. Army Rangers of the 3rd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, as part of Task Force Ranger, fast-roped into the city of Mogadishu, Somalia to capture key lieutenants of warlord Mohamed Farrah Aidid. What began as a short raid quickly escalated when Somali militia shot down two Black Hawk helicopters with RPGs. Rangers fought through intense urban combat, securing the target buildings, defending the crash sites, and protecting wounded comrades while surrounded by determined enemy forces throughout the night. Despite heavy casualties and relentless attacks, the Rangers held their ground until a relief column fought its way into the city, after which many Rangers ran under fire to reach the armored vehicles in what became known as the Mogadishu Mile. Their courage and sacrifice in one of the most intense urban battles in modern U.S. military history demonstrated the same warrior spirit that defines the Rangers today: RANGERS LEAD THE WAY! The Mogadishu Mile Run honors that
