Cockaponsett Trails to a Cure

Choose between a 4 or 9 mile trail race in the Cockaponsett State Forest in Chester, CT.  The 4 miler is the first part of the 9 mile course. The course consists of roots, rocks, muddy sections and several hills. The first 1/2 mile is on a road which helps spread the runners out prior to the start of the trails.   Water stations are at miles 2, 4, 6 and 7.   NO RACE DAY REGISTRATION.  Bib pick up opens at 8 am.  Race starts at 9 am.   Please note if you have out of state plates, the park requires you to pay a parking fee. Where the Pavement Ends Trail Races are set for Sunday, September 20, 2026                             You can do one loop of the course or do two loops for a “Pavement Double”!   The race starts and ends at Lake Windwing ballfields in Ridgefield, CT. The 4.25-mile course (single loop) begins at 7:30 AM, and the 8-miler (approximate double loop) begins at 7:00 AM. The course runs through the Hemlock Hills/Pine Mountain open space areas. It's technical, rocky, and sublime. If you are not an experienced trail runner, we recommend choosing the 4.25-mile course.   This race is part of the Trail Mix Series—Westchester-Fairfield Trail Mix Series: a series of seven trail races. Something new and exciting is coming to Rochester NY on Sunday, September 20, 2026 as we will offer the inaugural Countdown to ONE! challenge. This unique challenge is for those dedicated runners that like to push themselves a bit more than others. As a Countdown to ONE participant you will run as many single miles as you can based on the time requirements for each. The course is a 1 mile loop. The start/finish for each mile is the same.  All participants receive a finisher medal. Here's how it works... Each mile must be completed in less than the required time to advance to the next mile.  If you fail to complete any of the miles in the allotted time you're out of the competition.  The first mile must be completed in 15 minutes or under, the second mile must be completed in 13 minutes or less, 3rd mile in 11 minutes or less, 4th mile in 10 minutes or less. Sadly, while serving in the Marines, he was killed by a roadside bomb in Afghanistan. Matt graduated from Christopher Newport University with a degree in Management Information Systems, and holds an additional degree in Network Security from ECPI. A down-to-the-bone runner and a people person, Matt sees RunSignup as the perfect opportunity for him to use his experience in both technology and customer service. Twilight Trot and Sunset Stroll -- In Support of Covenant Ability Network of Minnesota

Join us for the second annual Twilight Trot 5k and Sunset Stroll 1 mile walk! An event presented by Covenant Ability Network of Minnesota, featuring a 5k run out and back on the beautiful lake walk along Lake Superior, a 1-mile stroll heading towards the aerial lift bridge.
