Licking Memorial Health Systems exists to improve the health of the community. The objective of the “For Your Health” 5K Run/Walk & 1 Mile Fun Walk is to offer a community event that encourages a healthy lifestyle.

Welcome to the 51st Limestone 5K! One of the oldest races in the southern half of the state, the Limestone 5K Run/Walk road race has a long history of producing challenging competition and fast times. The course begins and ends at Parkview Track, touring a flat residential neighborhood. The spectators are treated to the final quarter-mile, which takes place on the track.  Kick it in, this is a PR course!

The Love Never Ends 5k run/walk is being held in remembrance of all the babies gone too soon. This event has been established in loving memory of our son, Conner. Our hope and mission is to honor the memory of all babies and offer love and support to their grieving families All proceeds and donations will be given to the non profit organization Love, Lucas.  This organization provides emotional  financial, and spiritual support to families grieving infant or pregnancy loss.  Love, Lucas initially and primarily extends financial relief to grieving parents for the memorial services of their beloved child.  https://lovelucas.org/

Join us in Culver, a strong patriotic community where the American flag flies proudly all year long on many front porches, for the Waves of Freedom 5k run and walk along the shores of beautiful Lake Maxinkuckee. The third annual Tristan Calvin 5k scholarship run will be on the Owen Valley xc course in memory of his many activities with the school.  Tristan, as a Senior at Owen Valley had his life cut short during a traffic accident on July 20th, 2023. Tristan never met a stranger and was giving to a fault.  His parents are starting this scholarship in his name to keep that giving spirit alive.  Please consider a donation in his name and bringing your family and friends out to walk or run with us in his memory. Registration will open at 6:45am with the race starting at 8:00am.  Awards will be awarded to the top running and walking individuals as well as runner age group winners.

Run, Walk, and Roll: Women of the ELCA 5K for Raising up Healthy Women and Girls The Women of the ELCA Triennial Gathering takes place every three years and gathers 1000 women leaders, participants, and newcomers for four days of worship, inspiring speakers, workshops, service projects, and more! The Tri in July is a sprint triathlon benefitting the Richard Kane YMCA Scholarship program. Your challenge will begin with a 400m pool swim. Next, you'll hop on your bike for a scenic 12-mile ride. Finally, you'll complete a mostly shaded 5k run on our city's beautiful Pathfinder Parkway. HOW REGISTRATION WORKS The event is comprised of 24, 1-hour games in a row and is open to men's and women's teams of all ages and abilities. The Tom Schreiber Memorial 5K and 1 Mile celebrates Tom's lasting impact on the lives he touched. Tom served as the track and cross-country coach for over twenty years, first at Alliance High School (Alliance, OH) and then at Valley Forge High School in Parma Heights, Ohio. The proceeds from this event will be used to create a scholarship in Tom's name and be awarded to a senior track or cross-country runner from the Parma City School District. The 5K and 1-mile events will each be chip-timed. Runners and walkers of all levels are welcome to participate. You can register for both distances, and your times will be combined to determine rankings for the combo category. The 5K course will feature split points at every mile and live participant tracking via The Last Mile mobile APP.  The 1-mile course features a split at the half-mile mark. Participate in one or all of the STRIDE run/walk events! Taking place in some of Salem’s most loved parks and held once a month on a Saturday morning, May-September. Strollers and dogs on a leash are welcome! Maps are emailed to participants after 5 p.m. on Friday, the night before the event. Bibs are available for pick up at/on the day of the event. For this event, bibs are available at the picnic shelter off parking lot 3. This course is in Minto-Brown Island Park on hard trail surfaces.

Sign up for the 19th annual Dr. Bender 5K Classic! This year's race again has in-person and virtual options for participation. Those who wish to participate in person can do so on the morning of Saturday, July 18th, at Canal Winchester High School. Race morning will consist of our traditionally fast and competitive 5K race, as well as separate Girls and Boys 1 Mile Fun Runs (suggested for ages 12 & under). A virtual 5K event will also be available for those who are not able or choose not to participate in the in-person race. The race is held on the beautiful Spring Creek trail with wildflowers and Aspen trees next to bubbling Spring Creek. The 9.5 mile race is run on an up and down scenic loop on primitive trail, two track, single track and briefly on forest service road. This course gains ~1,750 ft. in the first 4 miles with most of that being from mile 2-4. This section of the race takes the runner up unimproved rocky and narrow single track and over several large downed trees before it descends on a smooth rolling downhill trail. The 5K race is an out and back on the beautiful Spring Creek trail on rolling two track and single track. Come out for a great day of running, a prize drawing and an even better post-race meal made by Freshies. This race is held in memory of Patty Brenner Hagberg who was struck and killed by a truck along the lower part of the trail in 1991. This race should remind all of us the importance of sharing multi-purpose use trails.

For those that have never competed in my events they take place at Guthrie Lake - this is a no wake lake that only allows boats to troll. This is a family friendly 5K Run/Walk event in honor of Ryan French. Ryan was a resident of Thompson and a student in the Ag-Ed Program at Killingly High School. Ryan was also an avid runner on the KHS Cross Country and Track Teams.
