The Annual Strawberry Festival 5k/8k race started by the late Mrs. Judy Christopher to inspire those in our community to run/walk to be healthy. Robert J. Aaron Memorial Mighty Montauk Triathlon /Aquabike and Sprint

Founded in 1982 by the late Robert J. Aaron.   CELEBRATING 45 YEARS....... Long considered one of the east end season openers, the RJA Memorial is one of the longest, continuous triathlons on Long Island!  We will be celebrating our 45th anniversary this year.  Since Robert's death in 2002, the race has been used as a fund raiser for pancreatic Cancer Research, supporting the Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer. The  Olympic race consists of a 1-mile swim, 20-mile bike and 6.2 miles run. The Aquabike consists of the 1-mile swim and 20-mile bike. The recently added Sprint triathlon consists of a 1/2-mile swim, 14-mile bike and 3.8-mile run. The Olympic race/Aquabike  goes off at 7:30am and the Sprint follows at approximately 8 am. Join Big Island Road Runners on Saturday June 13, 2026 starting at 7:00 am for the Holo Kahakai Fun Run. We will mark out 3 distances- 5k, 10k and ½ marathon. This event starts at the ocean front Kahakai Park in Pahoa. You will run/walk through the dappled sunlight under the canopy of old growth mango and lauhala trees along scenic Old Govt Beach Rd! Those running the ½ marathon will run to HWY 132 then up the Hwy about 1 mile before turning around and coming back the same way. Meet at Kahakai Park in Pahoa – Run starts at 7:00 AM sharp. Event ends at 10:30 AM. Directions: From HWY 130 take Kahakai Blvd which is just past the Pahoa Roundabout. Follow to the very end where you will run into the park. Self-serve Aid Stations will be provided but bring your own hydration in case it is hot😊 Water and Snacks at the end.  Free to BIRR members, $10 donation for non-members. If you are a BIRR Member the $10 donation will be dropped from your registration.

2026 Keweenaw Chain Drive Festival

Hancock, MI
The Keweenaw Chain Drive Festival is back as a Poker Run in 2026! For riders, there will be the option of a short, long, and adventure route. Once again, the short and long courses are open for runners to sign up as well! Each route will have multiple poker chip stations at random locations. Riders and runners will collect a chip from each location and submit them to find out their poker hand.  The best poker hand will win various prize packages!  The ride/run is free to enter.  If you would like to make a donation to the trails, you can do so during the registration process or at any time by clicking the Donation button at the top of this page.  All proceeds from the donations will go to supporting the Maasto Hiihto/Churning Rapids and Swedetown trails.    Be on the lookout for some new additions to the courses and bonuses from sponsors this year!   Please note that this year's event is self-supported.  There may be pop-up aid stations. The Grand Ledge Education Foundation Comet Chase 5k will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2026 in Grand Ledge, Michigan.
