Welcome to the Annual Sayville Fire Department 5K Run\Walk.  This is a well-organized, fun event for competitive runners as well as casual runners/walkers and their supportive friends.  This race is a part of the Sayville Summer Series hosted by Sayville Running Company.  All monies go to Sayville Fire Department. It’s a great way to begin your Saturday morning as well as a great race to start your new running lifestyle. The 5K run/walk starts at 9:00 am. The kids will enjoy doing the Fun Run which starts at 8:30 a.m.  On the day of the event, we will be selling tickets for our Auction.

Run for the Ages 5k is a fundraiser for community programs that benefit individuals our local kids and seniors. All proceeds from the race will go to Big, Brothers, Big Sisters of the Southern Adirondacks and the Glens Falls Senior Center. Our annual 5k race will take place on June 13, 2026! If you are unable to attend in person, we are offering a virtual option again for this year. Myles for a Mission 5K - The mission of the 5k is to raise awareness of childhood drowning prevention.  This race is held to honor the memory of Myles Davis Pope.  Myles tragically passed away just shy of his 2nd birthday due to a drowning accident.  Our mission is to raise money and awareness to prevent and educate others of childhood drownings.  Drowning is the leading cause of death for children ages 1-4, and the second leading cause of unintentional death for children ages 5-14. Children five years old and younger are especially vulnerable, representing 75% of child drowning deaths.  Boys are also more than twice as likely to drown as girls.   All proceeds will be donated to the Myles Davis Pope Memorial Fund. This fun event has something for everyone! The USATF certified course  begins and ends at the Intervale Trail Head of The Jackson River Scenic Trail in Covington, Virginia. The trail follows an old railroad bed of the Chesapeake and Ohio Railway. The course has a smooth crushed gravel surface and is mostly flat with some light hills. The trail follows its namesake river, winding it's way through small communities, cultivated fields, and small patches of woodland. Can you go the distance?  Come prove it in this "last-person standing" race. Every 15 minutes, participants will start a 1-mile road/sidewalk segment. If you make it back to the start/finish line before the next 15 minute horn goes off, you are still alive and go for another segment, if not, your race is over. How long can you endure?  This year's 4th Annual race features a point-to-point route starting at Zanesville Middle School and run along the paved and partially shaded Joe's Run Trail. The turnaround point is 1 mile away from the starting line. Three routes, two county tours, one result: a painfully fun, must-do biking experience destined to find its way onto your June calendar for years to come. 2026 marks the 23rd Horribly Hilly Hundreds. Commonly referred to as the "Suffer fest of the Year" and "The Toughest One-Day Challenge Ride in the Midwest" is not to be missed by serious riders anywhere. Since 2003, Horribly Hilly participants have enjoyed a day of riding that results in an awe-inspiring accumulation of 10,000 feet of elevation gain in the Driftless Area of Wisconsin. Growing in popularity each year, although not a lotter anymore the Horribly Hilly registration has reached capacity each year months prior to the event. This race is a fundraiser supporting the Mambarare Water Supply Project led by the Engineers Without Borders – Philadelphia Professional Chapter, whose members volunteer their engineering skills to partner with communities around the world to design and implement sustainable infrastructure projects. A 16-mile loop from Park City Mountain Resort (7,000′) to the top of Jupiter Peak (10,000′) and back down. The Gravel Unravel Experience Gravel Unravel is an endurance gravel bicycling series on the Olympic Peninsula of Washington State. Join us for Bigfoot's Backyard Bash! Runners will get a shirt and finisher medal. This is a low key, fun vibe event. Runners can start anytime between 8am and noon. You can run 1 five mile loop or multiple. There will be no timing and no top awards. We will have aid station snacks at the loop start/finish area.  We loved the vibe of GTR this year and decided we needed a summer version.  This event is limited to 250 runners.  The shirt cutoff is June 1.
