We're excited to present the 11th Annual Dirty Spokes Iron Hill 7.5/3.8 Mile Trail Running Race! This is great double track off-road running experience. The race will start in the open field (next to the gravel parking lot). The Iron Hill Trail System is a very fast, flowing trail system along the shoreline of Lake Allatoona. If you are headed out to pre-run, we're Running this One in a "Counter-Clockwise Direction". This is the 2nd fastest course of the series! The Daffodil race has been a staple for the Nevada County community for many, many years. Offering a 5K and a 10K, the routes travel through the quaint little town of Penn Valley and across the green rolling hills on country roads. The 5K travels along the edge of Western Gateway Park, past the dog park, and finally to the park and ride for a quick turnaround for a return to the finish. The 10K begins the same as the 5K, but will take a detour through the park before heading to the park and ride. During the return, the 10K turns right and weaves through the rural countryside of Penn Valley before racing back to the finish.  Penn Valley is known for its daffodils and green grass, and if the timing is right, runners will get to see both. April lends towards cooler temps, so runners can experience energy from the springtime air and community. On Dec 26, 2018 this unfortunate statistic affected Adam Holten, his family, extended family, friends and the community. We lost a very good person to suicide. Adam affected many people’s lives with his presence, his smile, his laughter, his handshakes and his ability to reach out and lift other people up.   Since his passing we have created a non profit organization: Strides for Adam. A low-key, low-frills event run entirely on the beautiful Virginia Creeper Trail in Abingdon, Virginia.  Amenities are minimal but all participants receive a race memento.  Awards are presented to the top finisher, male and female and to the top (1) finisher in the following age groups, male and female:  29-under, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80+. Our course is pleasantly scenic.  The race starts and finishes on the Virginia Creeper Trail near the Abingdon Trailhead which is at the junction of Green Springs Road and the Virginia Creeper Trail, in Abingdon, Virginia.  The race is run on the Virginia Creeper Trail, a former railroad bed.  The Trail is flat to gentle grade, with a soft running surface (plus the occasional wooden trestle).  The course is two out-and-back segments on the Trail.  The first turnaround is approximately 1 mile south of the Alvarado Station Trailhead, the second turnaround is approximately .1 miles south of the Abingdon Trailhead, and the third turnaro

🐾 3rd Annual Avenir 5K Fun Run/Walk Benefiting K9s for Warriors       Join us for the 3rd Annual Avenir 5K Fun Run/Walk on Sunday, March 15, 2026, in the beautiful community of Avenir, Palm Beach Gardens, as we come together for fitness, fun, and an incredible cause.   This uplifting community event benefits K9s for Warriors, a national nonprofit dedicated to pairing rescue dogs with military veterans suffering from PTSD, TBI, and military sexual trauma. Together, they help save lives, one veteran and one dog at a time.   Whether you’re a seasoned runner, casual jogger, or prefer a relaxed walk with friends and family, this event is for everyone. The 28th Annual Lavaman Triathlon consists of a 1.5K Swim, 40K Bike and a 10K Run. The Duathlon consists of a 1k run, 40k bike and 10k run. The Aquabike consists of a 1.5k swim and 40k bike. Lavaman takes place in beautiful Anaeho’omalu Bay, the Queen Ka'ahumanu Highway and on the grounds of the Waikoloa Beach Resort on the Big Island of Hawaii, with a beautiful beach finish and the "best party in triathlon.
