The Jackson River Scenic Trail Marathon, Half Marathon, 10k, and 5k

This fun event has something for everyone! The USATF certified course  begins and ends at the Intervale Trail Head of The Jackson River Scenic Trail in Covington, Virginia. The trail follows an old railroad bed of the Chesapeake and Ohio Railway. The course has a smooth crushed gravel surface and is mostly flat with some light hills. The trail follows its namesake river, winding it's way through small communities, cultivated fields, and small patches of woodland. Each year, the 10K Road Race gets the Market Square Day celebration off on the right foot. Myles for a Mission 5K - The mission of the 5k is to raise awareness of childhood drowning prevention.  This race is held to honor the memory of Myles Davis Pope.  Myles tragically passed away just shy of his 2nd birthday due to a drowning accident.  Our mission is to raise money and awareness to prevent and educate others of childhood drownings.  Drowning is the leading cause of death for children ages 1-4, and the second leading cause of unintentional death for children ages 5-14. Children five years old and younger are especially vulnerable, representing 75% of child drowning deaths.  Boys are also more than twice as likely to drown as girls.   All proceeds will be donated to the Myles Davis Pope Memorial Fund. A Nighttime Run/Walk to Benefit Broken Together and the Pontiac Elks Lodge 1019 Veterans Fund Race around the golf course at The Oaks at River's Edge in Pontiac, IL at night in this 5K Run / 1.5 Mile Walk.  There will be a Flag Day ceremony at 7:00pm and the race will start at 9:00pm.  After the race there will be an awards ceremony, including music on the patio.  Food and drinks will be available for purchase. Join us for our third annual Outdoor Adventure Expo 5k & 10k by Great Parks around the beautiful Winton Lake. Enjoy a paved course that brings you around Winton Lake and through nature at Winton Woods. This is a family-friendly run with a little bit of a challenge including some short hills. Returning this year is our 1/10 mile Kids Adventure Dash for children ages 8 and under! Your littlest adventurers will run from the playground to the finish line and will receive their own special prizes. Each runner with receive some Great Parks themed swag as well as a race medal and t-shirt.   Over $2,000 in Tri-State Running Company gift cards will be awarded to the overall top 3 male/female finishers and the top 3 male/female finishers in each age group. Lace Up for Parks, Trails and Open Space at the 1st annual 5K run & Walk.  Adventurously enjoy a a 5K run through the trails at Heritage Park in Homer Glen. The event will be a fun filled, family friendly race for competitive runners, recreational athletes and kids.  The course will be run on the trails  at Heritage Park in Homer Glen.   The course is being developed.  It will be run on the trails at the park and be 5K (3.1 Miles) with multiple laps.  Part of the course may be run on grass too. We also offer a simple kids race (< 10 years old).  Each kid running will get swag too! Our goal is to promote local parks, trails and open space.  Proceeds will benefit the Homer Glen Community in Harmony and Nature a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization.

Established in 2004, this race is open to ages 15 & up is a sprint triathlon consisting of a 400 yard swim in our indoor heated pool, a 15 mile bike ride through beautiful Woodford County and historic downtown Versailles, and a 3.1 mile run on a beautiful and challenging cross-country course.  Our race is great for beginners & experienced triathletes, and many use it as the kick-off to the triathlon season. Kentucky Cryptid Series - Mothman
