The 5th Annual Cake by the Lake 5K and One Mile Cakewalk will take place on Saturday, April 4, 2026 on the Withlacoochee State Trail! Both events start at Liberty Park in Inverness. 5K Runners will take off as the sun rises over the lake, with "5 K Race Walkers" starting just three minutes behind them.  Another 3 minutes later, the 1-mile walkers will enter the fray. That number is projected to rise to 12.9 million by 2040. Parkinson’s is a chronic, progressive, and complex multi-system disorder with no known cure. While often classified as a movement disorder, it affects much more than just physical movement, impacting mental, emotional, and autonomic functions as well. The half marathon will be on the Mahaska County Recreation Trail all around Oskaloosa with a little bit of the running on the streets.  UPDATE: The race will begin by the new Lacey Complex Stadium. This will allow for more parking and better central location for the meet. We will follow the path down and around the city of Oskaloosa. The course is hilly, but full of a lot of beautiful scenery. The race will begin and end by the community stadium for your convenience.  The Mahaska County Sheriff's Reserves will be hosting our third Pot of Gold Shared Half Marathon and 5K. Proceeds go towards a scholarship for a male and female runner, and the rest of the funds will go to support other reserve funding projects for Mahaska County. Genessee Valley Ultra is a 2.5 mile trail loop at Genessee Valley Outdoor Learning Center in Parkton, MD. Runners have 24, 12, or 6 hours to complete as many loops as possible. Awards will be presented to the overall winner in each category. This will be a chip timed event. In the event of a tie for number of loops overall time will be used to determine the winner.   -The race will begin at 9AM on Saturday March 28th with a mass start.  6 hour runners must have all laps completed by 3PM on Saturday March 28th. 12 hour runners must have all laps completed by 9PM on Saturday March 29th. 24 hour runners must complete their final lap by 9AM on Sunday March 29th. Any loop completed after a races cut off will not count towards a runners overall total.   - Runners will be required to begin carrying/running with a headlamp starting one hour before sunset.   - Primary race nutrition is the responsibility of the runner. SALISBURY, MARYLAND 8 is great!!! 8 years of running the RunSBY Events!  Come celebrate with us on Saturday, April 4th, 2026!  Join us in 2026 for a flat and FAST marathon and half marathon course!  Our BQ percentage is tremendous, so this could be your chance to qualify for a major!! Our Marathon and Half Marathon courses share the same course for the first 10.8 miles before splitting off to finish out their courses.
