Shake off winter and charge into spring at the Eklutna Lake IceBreaker Run, a lakeside trail race that delivers all the beauty, and all the chaos, of Alaska in March. Set along the frozen shoreline of Eklutna Lake, this out-and-back adventure offers 10-mile and 20-mile courses on one of Chugach State Park’s most scenic corridors.   Runners will stride (or crunch, or slide) across the lakeside trail as it winds alongside the frozen water of Eklutna Lake. And since we all know March in Alaska refuses to pick a season, you can expect a full sampler of winter conditions: packed snow, punchy snow, ice sheets, mashed-potato mush, muddy patches, unexpected sunshine, maybe even that perfect “winter glow” light that makes you forget your toes are cold for exactly half a second. Texas Canyon Trail Run The Amerind Museum presents the 13th Annual Texas Canyon Trail Run. Run competitively or walk the scenic 5K or 10K courses in this awe-inspiring region. Texas Canyon is marked by spectacular rock formations, including balancing boulders, and trails crisscrossing through open fields of yucca, ocotillo, a variety of cacti, and scattered trees that dot the terrain. Because a marathon, a 10K or even a 5K may be too great a distance for some, members of the Downtown Visalia Kiwanis will offer a "Point 5K - The Race for The Rest of Us." The race will begin at 10am on March 21, 2026, Saturday, at Mooney Grove Park (next to Tulare County Museum) in Visalia. Registration will begin at 9am. An aid station (sponsored by Denny's restaurant) at the halfway mark is there to fill needs for a donut hole break, coffee, or juice. The 38th Annual Whale Run & Walk for 2026!Fort Bragg, Ca is a small, picturesque city on the Pacific Ocean, nestled between sandy beaches and the redwood forest. We are the home of the world famous Glass Beach! Every year there is a huge Whale Festival on the 3rd weekend of March, and Saturday morning the Whale Run kicks it off! NEW COURSE--This run starts and finishes at the Simsbury Farms Park in Simsbury CT. This public facility is located in the west end of Simsbury in a residential area. The course begins and ends in the parking lot and is all roads through local neighborhoods with minimal traffic. All roads will be open. The many small "rolling hills" have a total elevation of 159ft. It will be well marked with course monitors at key intersections. This is a free event but consider a donation so that we can cover costs of these grass root events for you! Take the Leap at Walnut Beach! Join the brave, warm-hearted souls who will Leap for Literacy. Leapers from around the area are invited to run, jump or dive into the chilly waters at Walnut Beach to help raise money to support Literacy Volunteers of Southern Connecticut.
