Join us on Memorial Day to celebrate all of the great Americans and their families and supporters who have earned the right to be honored and cherished on Memorial Day each year.  The event will have three timed-races on May 26, 2025. The Half Marathon is on a picturesque and challenging course that showcases the beauty of Laguna Hills and the surrounding cities.   The 5k and 10k runs will tour the streets of Laguna Hills, and offers a distance and challenge for runners of all ages and abilities.  Children can be a part of the event by registering for the Kids Run. *** ALL RACES START AT 7 AM ***

Raising awareness about T1D  Camp Sweeney's Play for the Day was created 14 years ago by a group of Camp Sweeney camper parents to raise awareness for T1D, or type 1 diabetes. T1D affects 1 in 400 children and can lead to devastating medical complications such as eye disease, kidney disease, and damaged cardiovascular and nervous systems.  However, proper diabetes management can greatly reduce the probability of future complications.  Camp Sweeney provides these children with a motivating support system to overcome these struggles. Raising funds for campers  Half of the children who come to Camp Sweeney need financial aid.  Camp Sweeney's Play for the Day helps raise campership dollars to support those families in need.  Since its inception, Play for the Day has raised over $1.15 million. This year's goal is our most ambitious yet at $200,000.  Providing community fellowship  Camp Sweeney's Play for the Day serves as Camp Sweeney's kickstart for the summer. Campers

Each year “Johnny’s Run” is conducted in the memory of Spc. John J. Kovach to benefit charities that help others in need.  Johnny’s life, cut tragically short  , was one marked with a zest for life and service to others.  Johnny’s giving spirit lives on, through and beyond the lives he touched, with the charity raised at the event named in his honor.  This is our 16th annual run and we would love it if you came out and honored Johnny and raised money for a great cause. The Cadillac Rotary Club will host its 28th Annual STRIDE FOR S.T.R.I.V.E. 5k Event on Memorial Day, May 25, hosting hundreds of athletes.  S.T.R.I.V.E. 5k timed participants and student participants will run or walk the course from the east end of Sunset Lane behind the Cadillac Senior Center (across the street from the High School football field) toward Kenwood Park and back along the shoreline of beautiful Lake Cadillac to the finish line at the east end of Sunset Lane behind the Cadillac Senior Center.  Through collaborative efforts by Cadillac Rotarians and other key community members, this event is successfully run each year.

Presented by The Brain Injury Association of Kansas and Greater Kansas City (BIAKS-GKC), the Memorial Day run is celebrating its 39th year. Formerly the Amy Thompson Run for Brain Injury, it is one of the oldest runs in the Kansas City area and attracts close to 1,000 runners and spectators of all ages each year.  The course begins and ends in beautiful Loose Park in Kansas City and goes through some historic neighborhoods surrounding the park.  All particpants receive a finishers medal and compete for age group and overall awards.  Custom event shirts can be added to your registration for an additional $7. About This Event: Join us for the 31st annual Run To Climax!  This is a scenic Memorial Day race with profits going to our local elementary school. Burton Memorial Day 5k is held at Atherton High School. This event started in the mid 1990s and is still going strong today! 5k Run begins promptly after the National Anthem at 8:30am with the walk beginning at 8:33am. This will be a 5K race through the trails of the Norma Johnson Center located outside of Dover Ohio.  Parking for the event, registration, check in, awards ceremony will all take place at the Yellowbrick on 39, an adjoining community business.  Check in and day of registrations for the race will be from 8am to 9:15am.  There will be a table located near the stage and barn at our host venue Yellowbrick on 39.  Racers will walk a short distance to the starting line at the Norma Johnson Center Preservation Kiosk near the yellow barn.  Racers should be at race starting line no later than 9:20am.  The race will begin at 9:30am.  The course will be mostly grass with some mulched, rooted or dirt areas. The terrain will be flat, a few steps, on a grade or up and down hills. The Big Timber Trot 10K and 6K returns on May 25 in Kanawha State Forest for a scenic and challenging trail race directed by the same experienced team that has hosted races in the forest for years. This event is one of two races held annually in the park and reflects our continued commitment to delivering high quality, well organized trail running experiences. Both distances will start and finish at Shelter 6 and guide runners along winding forest roads, steady climbs, and classic West Virginia terrain that is welcoming to newer trail runners while still offering a rewarding challenge for seasoned participants. Race shirts are guaranteed to all runners who register by May 15 at midnight, with remaining extras available first come first served while supplies last.

It's Back!  The 20th Annual Mickler Mile is returning.    The 1 mile race will take place on Monday, May 25th at 7am at the corner of Pope Road and Mickler Road.  This year, Second Wind Timing will provide timing for those that register & donate $25 to ACRR's Youth Running Program.    The donation includes a bib and the famous Mickler Mile T-shirt.   To reserve your bib and shirt please make sure you register by May 1st.   After that date, we cannot guarantee shirt size.  The race will be limited to 100 participants.   Bib and shirt pickup will be available prior to the race beginning at 6:30am at the starting line.   Please be good neighbors and refrain from parking in residents' yard. Summer 2026 Kids Speed & Conditioning TUESDAYS training in Apex is brought to you by Triangle Run Smart Training, presented by Pace Yourself Run Company and The Running PTs.    Class is 8 weeks long, meeting once per week, and is geared toward kids aged 8-14 years old of ALL levels and paces.  The goal of the class is to have fun, get healthy, and work on running speed and overall conditioning. The Mighty Mile is for kids only ages 5 to 14 years old. All runners will receive a T-shirt, Backpack, and a chipped timed accurate mile. Once the runner crosses the finish line they will receive a Mighty Mile Finisher Medal. The race is part of the Michigan Running Foundation Mighty Mile series put on at several locations in Michigan in an effort to encourage our children to run and stay active. A fun Wednesday evening Duathlon at Cycle Werks in Whitehouse, Ohio. This second early season duathlon is perfect to test those transition skills and get ready for multi-sport season. This event is great for experienced athletes as well as those wanting to try their first duathlon. The bike course is flat through the country roads of Whitehouse and the run course is contained on the Wabash-Cannonball Bike Trail. This is a USA Triathlon sanctioned event, and age group standings will be applied and submitted.
