The Gabriel Lee Friedline Memorial Run is a 5k run/walk around the Lake Shore Trail at Shawnee State Park in Bedford, PA.  The race date is Sunday, May 24th.  Registration begins at 9:00am and the Race start will begin at 10:00am at Pavilion No. 7. This will be a walking and running event.  This year we will still have the tot race for children 6 and under to participate in! All our welcome to come and  remember our son Gabriel who passed from SIDs in October of 2012 at three months old.  Stick around after the run for the awards ceremony and post race drinks and food.  The proceeds from the race will be used to help family's cover final expenses for unexpected deaths of babies and young children in the community.  It is important we give back to our community and the people that have helped us along the way!

We work across the United States, educating and inspiring individuals to register as organ, eye, and tissue donors. Alongside this, we work to show the world what is made possible due to the gift of life through giving recipients, donors, and supporters a platform to make the impossible possible post-transplant. The foundation was started in 2003 by an Olympic Bronze Medalist after a liver transplant saved his life. Chris received his transplant in 2000 thanks to the courageous decision made by the donor and their family. The Lake Region Run has been the lakes area premier event since 2007. The beautiful scenery of the Fergus Falls area, the variety of race lengths, and ideal temperates in early June make the race a perfect fit for the casual runner/walker to the serious competitor who wants to tackle the challenging hills of the 10-mile course.  Trophies will be awarded to the top overall male and female while top three finishers in each age division will receive an award. Be a part of history -- this is the longest continuously run road race in Colorado!  Since 1978, the Narrow Gauge 10 Mile Run has been one of Durango's oldest Memorial Day traditions. This year, we're back at beautiful Santa Rita Park along the Animas River. We are excited to announce our beneficiaries of the races this year are The Fort Lewis College and Durango High School Track and Cross Country Teams as well as The Liberty School and Animas High School. The 10 Miler will climb from the river trail up to Fort Lewis College with the best views of the La Plata Mountains then past Hillcrest Golf course. It will be a mix of sidewalk, dirt and paved road as well as singletrack trails  The descent will take runners back to the east side of the Animas River to the Rivergate Bridge then north along the river trail back to the start/finish.  For a change of pace the 5K race heads south  from Santa Rita Park crosses over the Animas River and continues south along the eastern banks of

Join this family-friendly 5K and run through Bakersfield Breakfast Rotary’s annual Thousand Flags Memorial Day weekend display. This awe-inspiring annual event showcases over 1,000 American flags on display at The Park at River Walk to honor those we have lost. There will be a 5K course and a one-mile memorial walk. The 5K course winds its way through the scenic flag adorned park and down the multi-use trail adjacent to the park, and is suitable for both runners and walkers. Proceeds will support the Thousand Flags event and other Bakersfield Breakfast Rotary community projects. The events will be timed and awards will be given for the top three 5K finishers in each category. Register by May 3rd, 2026 to ensure you receive a Thousand Flags T-shirt. The 14th Annual Theresa Borgia 5K Run/Walk & Children's Fun Run will be held Sunday, May 24, 2025, 9:30am at the Lackawanna Heritage Trail on Olive Street. Theresa Borgia was a long-time member of the JCC of Scranton. She was a tireless advocate for breast cancer awareness and a well-known volunteer for the annual Komen Race for the Cure. Her initial diagnosis was in 1997, and after years in remission she was back in treatment in 2006. In November of 2010, Theresa lost her thirteen-year fight with breast cancer. All proceeds go to Colony Cats -- an all-volunteer, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose primary mission is to address cat overpopulation in central Ohio through public awareness and spay/neuter efforts. Since 2002, their organization has facilitated spay/neuter of nearly 33,000 cats and dogs and placed more than 23,000 pets in homes. Through Colony Cats' humane, non-lethal programs, homeless cats can have the decent, healthy quality of life they deserve and better co-exist with their feline and human neighbors.
