PA Summer Biathlon at Camp Freedom

A Summer Biathlon is Cross Country running combined with Rifle Marksmanship   The 6K running race is divided into three parts:   First: The timing starts with waves of one or two runners leaving the start line every minute and running an approximately 1-mile loop. As you approach the shooting range at the end of the first running loop, you will run into the range, catching your breath, lie down in the prone position and pick up an easy to use .22 caliber target rifle. You shoot 5 shots at 4.5-inch metal knock down targets 33 meters away. For each missed target you are required to run a 70-meter penalty loop after the shooting stop. If course conditions do not permit a penalty loop, 25 seconds will be added to the runners overall time for each target missed.      Second: After this first shooting stop, you run out of the range and run the same 1-mile loop again. ENDURE- Last Man Standing

ENDURE – Last Man Standing is a Long Island endurance running event using a Last Man Standing format. Runners complete a fixed 4.2-mile loop every hour, on the hour. Finish the loop within the hour, and you earn the chance to start again. Miss the cutoff or decide you’re done, and your race ends. The event continues until one runner remains or the event time window concludes. To amp things up, every few hours we will lower the time cut-off.  The course will use designated park trails and/or park roads with a centralized start and finish area and aid station. Join us on Saturday, May 30 at 6:00 pm for the Clifton Caboose 5K and 1-Mile Fun RunThe start/finish line is just a few feet from the Triangle (the intersection of Clifton, Newman and Main Streets); near the Barn located at 7139 Main Street, Clifton, VA 20124Both the 1-Mile Fun Run and the 5k begin in the turn-of-the-century town of Clifton, VA. The scenic course winds down a gently rolling country road, across a creek, and past a horse or two, then back to the start line.
