Celebrate the United States’ 250th Independence Day by running a mile for every year!! Freedom's Foundation is the Blood of the Brave, and its strength is the Spirit of the Free! Now is your opportunity to commit your blood, sweat, and tears as you accept the ultimate challenge to run 250 miles between Memorial Day and Independence Day 2026!  All participants will receive a commemorative event T-shirt and a Finisher's Medal!  Starting Memorial Day 2026, complete 250 miles by July 4, 2026, and celebrate this monumental event.  Finishers will be recognized at the 250th Celebration event on July 4th, 2026, at Harvester Community Church, 2432 Collier Pkwy. Come out and run on Memorial Day morning. This is the same race that use to be the "Freedom Fun Run", but we have changed it to honor the late Jason Michaels who was the race director of this event in the past. The Big Timber Trot 10K and 6K returns on May 25 in Kanawha State Forest for a scenic and challenging trail race directed by the same experienced team that has hosted races in the forest for years. This event is one of two races held annually in the park and reflects our continued commitment to delivering high quality, well organized trail running experiences. For the past 11 years, Lynchburg Road Runners Club and Type 1 Diabetes Experience (T1DE) have hosted this race to provide support for local families living with Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes. It has become a great community and family event. This year the Memorial Day 10k will be hosted by Community Access Network (CAN).  While T1DE is dissolving, Community Access Network, already an area leader in diabetes education and management, will provide for continued support for T1 families in our community. In addition, Community Access Network provides exceptional, comprehensive, quality, and compassionate healthcare to every member of our community.  The Memorial Day 10K is the 7th race in the 2026 Lynchburg Road Runners  Race Series.

The Powisset (pronounced “po-wiss-it”) Farm Trail Run is part of the Barn to Run Trail Race Series and the spring edition of this event takes place Memorial Day, Monday, May 26, 2025 at Powisset Farm in Dover, MA.  The event includes running the trails of Powisset Farm and neighboring Noanet Woodlands and offers 4 race distances to choose from — 8.6, 5.6, 3.1 and 1.5 miles.

This will be a 5K race through the trails of the Norma Johnson Center located outside of Dover Ohio.  Parking for the event, registration, check in, awards ceremony will all take place at the Yellowbrick on 39, an adjoining community business.  Check in and day of registrations for the race will be from 8am to 9:15am.  There will be a table located near the stage and barn at our host venue Yellowbrick on 39.  Racers will walk a short distance to the starting line at the Norma Johnson Center Preservation Kiosk near the yellow barn.  Racers should be at race starting line no later than 9:20am.  The race will begin at 9:30am.  The course will be mostly grass with some mulched, rooted or dirt areas. The terrain will be flat, a few steps, on a grade or up and down hills. Participants will be guaranteed a free t-shirt if registered through mail or online by May 3, 2026.  Those who register after this date will not be guaranteed a free t-shirt.  Overall race winners will be presented an award

Burton Memorial Day 5k is held at Atherton High School. This event started in the mid 1990s and is still going strong today! 5k Run begins promptly after the National Anthem at 8:30am with the walk beginning at 8:33am. Each year “Johnny’s Run” is conducted in the memory of Spc. John J. Kovach to benefit charities that help others in need.  Johnny’s life, cut tragically short  , was one marked with a zest for life and service to others.  Johnny’s giving spirit lives on, through and beyond the lives he touched, with the charity raised at the event named in his honor.  This is our 16th annual run and we would love it if you came out and honored Johnny and raised money for a great cause. The Cadillac Rotary Club will host its 28th Annual STRIDE FOR S.T.R.I.V.E. 5k Event on Memorial Day, May 25, hosting hundreds of athletes.  S.T.R.I.V.E. 5k timed participants and student participants will run or walk the course from the east end of Sunset Lane behind the Cadillac Senior Center (across the street from the High School football field) toward Kenwood Park and back along the shoreline of beautiful Lake Cadillac to the finish line at the east end of Sunset Lane behind the Cadillac Senior Center.  Through collaborative efforts by Cadillac Rotarians and other key community members, this event is successfully run each year.

About This Event: Join us for the 31st annual Run To Climax!  This is a scenic Memorial Day race with profits going to our local elementary school. Your participation helps fund materials and activities provided by the Climax-Scotts PTO. Thank you for your support! Come for the run, stay for more fun! Hang around after the race for the Climax Memorial Day Parade at 10:00, followed by activities at the high school like the classic car show and craft booths. Important Change: Due to the increased amount of activities and traffic, we will be closing streets to ensure the safety of our runners. This means the race will end at 9:00 a.m. and anyone still on the race course will need to move out of traffic's way and continue at their own risk. Presented by The Brain Injury Association of Kansas and Greater Kansas City (BIAKS-GKC), the Memorial Day run is celebrating its 39th year. Formerly the Amy Thompson Run for Brain Injury, it is one of the oldest runs in the Kansas City area and attracts close to 1,000 runners and spectators of all ages each year.  The course begins and ends in beautiful Loose Park in Kansas City and goes through some historic neighborhoods surrounding the park.  All particpants receive a finishers medal and compete for age group and overall awards.  Custom event shirts can be added to your registration for an additional $7.
