Burton Memorial Day 5k is held at Atherton High School. This event started in the mid 1990s and is still going strong today! 5k Run begins promptly after the National Anthem at 8:30am with the walk beginning at 8:33am. Proceeds will be given to the local high school extracurricular groups such as the Bendle Tiger Youth Football, Bentley Robotics, Atherton Theatre Group as well as the Burton VFW Post 2777, Burton Veterans Memorial and the Burton Police Department.

This is a Memorial Day 5k in memory of Coach Steve Snider, a local running coach, beloved by his local community. Come out and run this race and support a good cause. A portion of the race proceeds will be used for scholarships for Greensburg Salem Education General Endowment in memory of Steve Snider and youth and community health and wellness.  The race will start near Sunset Cafe and end at Offutt Field in Greensburg, taking participants through town, both on the 5-Star Trail and on the road. Event Description The name of this event says it all… Because of the Brave!  We love this country and all of us enjoy the freedom of living in the United States of America.  However, this freedom we enjoy came at a price.  On this Memorial Day, come out and join us in an event that truly honors the brave men and women who paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.  Because of the Brave 5K is truly about reflecting on this sacrifice that was made by so many of our heroes.   These men and women carried their American flag and served our country with honor.  What better way to honor them, than to carry an American flag while running/walking a 5K?  As part of this event, each runner/walker must carry a 2’x 3’ American flag during the entire 5K course.  The flag will be affixed to a pole so it will be easy to carry.  The flag and pole together will be light so even children will be able to participate. Raising awareness about T1D  Camp Sweeney's Play for the Day was created 14 years ago by a group of Camp Sweeney camper parents to raise awareness for T1D, or type 1 diabetes. T1D affects 1 in 400 children and can lead to devastating medical complications such as eye disease, kidney disease, and damaged cardiovascular and nervous systems.  However, proper diabetes management can greatly reduce the probability of future complications.  Camp Sweeney provides these children with a motivating support system to overcome these struggles. Raising funds for campers  Half of the children who come to Camp Sweeney need financial aid.  Camp Sweeney's Play for the Day helps raise campership dollars to support those families in need.  Since its inception, Play for the Day has raised over $1.15 million. The Fallen Warrior Foundation is deeply honored to host the 8th annual Sgt David Hierholzer Memorial Day 50k. On Memorial Day, we will embark together as a unit to run the 32-ish miles across Marshall County—from the north county line to the south county line. The group typically averages around 10-10:30 minutes per mile pace stopping every 3-5 miles to regroup. Please understand this run is not a race. It is a journey. Oconee County Memorial Day 5K Join us in downtown Walhalla for a meaningful Memorial Day weekend 5K that supports local veterans and honors those who served.   This race is hosted by Golden Corner Veterans Support Group (GCVSG), a 501(c)(3) made up of members from Oconee County Emergency Services (OCES) in Walhalla, SC.   Proceeds benefit the Oconee County Veterans Council, Inc. (OCVC), a coalition of members from 10 veteran organizations and the Oconee Military Museum at Patriots Hall across Oconee County that meets quarterly at the VA Office in Walhalla. The third annual GTC Memorial Day Mile, renamed this year as GTC Memorial Day - Honor Tower Mile will be held this coming Memorial Day, Monday, May 25, 2026. The event pays tribute to our fallen service members, and to our first responders. The 28th annual Tortoise and Hare 5K is a long-standing favorite 5K in the Lehigh Valley. Each Memorial Day runners gather at Wind Gap Memorial Park to kick-off their holiday celebration.  The rolling course will start near the park and finish up with a great food spread!  Registration includes a short-sleeved shirt if registered by May 8th. This is a Memorial Day 5k in memory of Coach Steve Snider, a local running coach, beloved by his local community. Come out and run this race and support a good cause. A portion of the race proceeds will be used for scholarships for Greensburg Salem Education General Endowment in memory of Steve Snider and youth and community health and wellness.  The race will start near Sunset Cafe and end at Offutt Field in Greensburg, taking participants through town, both on the 5-Star Trail and on the road. Runners and walkers are welcome. The running course is all road, and the walking course is part trail. Sorry, but no pets are allowed at this event.  AWARDS WILL BE GIVEN TO RUNNERS ONLY. Benefiting the Nashville City Cemetery Association's preservation efforts and educational outreach, the 26th Annual Memorial Day Dash will be unique in that you may participate from anywhere, and you won't even have to get up early. In fact, if it is raining, you may even choose to run on a treadmill at your local Y or gym. Mark your calendar for the 52nd Annual University City Memorial Day Run, May 25, 2026 with our traditional schedule of events, a 5K, a 10K and a Fun Run!  The University City Memorial Day Run takes place each Memorial Day in University City, Missouri. Begun in 1974 by a few interested joggers, over the next Fifty-One years it has grown into one of the most popular and largest family races in the St. Louis metropolitan area.     The University City Memorial Day Run provides runners of any level with an exciting and fun experience. The 10K and 5K runs are the main event but there is also a fun run for the whole family. Come join the cadets from Ben Davis High School Marine Corps JROTC in a non-timed 5k moto-run/walk. Before we start, we will have service to honor our fallen service members at 0800. Registration table will be open at 0700 to pick up your t-shirt and challenge coin. You can also purchase items separately as well, however, supplies will be limited. Run is scheduled to start shortly after the ceremony around 0830. A little about our fundraiser, Ben Davis MCJROTC has 3 very competitive team with the program, Drill, Rifle and Raider Teams. Each year, these cadets have earned their way to compete at a National level, and this year they have done just that! However, lack of funding has always been the show stopper, but we hope to make it to Nationals this year with your help!  So what is a moto-run? It is a military style formation run with cadets who will take turns calling motivational cadences from start to finish! You have the option to run with the formation, at your own leisure or jump

Please join us for the 54th running of the UACA Memorial Day Run on Monday, May 25, 2026. This year, we are bringing back an option for a 5-mile run (well, almost, at 4.9 miles).  There will still be the same 5K and 1-mile courses everyone has enjoyed the last few years.  The courses race through the crowd filled and fast streets of Upper Arlington providing a great experience for serious and casual runners alike. All proceeds will benefit the charitable functions of the UACA. Participants will receive an official UACA Memorial Day Run event shirt and an official finisher’s Medal. Awards given to the top finishers following the race. We look forward to another great Memorial Day celebration in Upper Arlington!

All of the proceeds from this 5k will benefit the Denny Carrigan Scholarship Fund. This scholarship is awarded to individuals pursuing a career in education.

The Herrinfesta Road Races has a long history of families and friends coming together on Memorial Day to have fun, to suffer in the heat for a few miles. If you have never ran it before then you should come join us for a really fun time. With one of the fastest courses around, runners can come to Herrin and shoot for a new PR. This is a family friendly event with a few race options. The 10k run, the 5K walk, the Park Avenue Mile, and the kids mile. Ambitious runners can even sign up for both the 10k and the mile.
