This will be the 37th year of the Pere Marquette Endurance Trail Run. 7.8 miles of hills and incredible scenery through the park in December. The race is a go regardless of rain, sleet, snow, ice, mud or muck. It's a trail race not a day at the beach. HOWEVER.... should the Park Service close Pere Marquette State Park due to severe inclement weather or other unforeseen cause, Metro Tri Club will cancel the event and offer no refunds or deferments. Since his passing, his family has been able to donate money to Bement High School to provide new uniforms for the girls’ basketball program, new bleachers at the football field, new sound-system in the big gym and 11 chrome books to be used by students. Also, since beginning this scholarship 5K run, we have been able to help 13 student athletes continue their sports careers at the college of their choice. We are looking into purchasing new shot clocks for Walsh Gymnasium for the 2026 basketball season. Mike Walsh was devoted to Bement High School and their athletic programs. He served on the school board for 10 years and was also an active member of the Bement Athletic Booster Association. He volunteered as a coach for girls’ basketball program and played a big part into introducing girls’ softball into Bement High School as well a volunteer assistant coach. For all that Mike did for the school they renamed the gymnasium after him, it is now called Walsh Gymnasium. Every December the school hosts a Mike Walsh Memorial Basketball tournament in his name. Mike got to see all three of his children play college athletics; with your help we are making that possible for other local families. The USOLE December Trail Challenge - 4.5 Miles December 12, 2026 @ 10AM RACE START IS 10AM - Trail running has always been in our USOLE DNA! We were the first running store in Chicago to bring trail racing to the Chicago running community. These trail races are great courses for folks wanting to get off the roads and enjoy some of our beautiful trails, but not have to be an expert trail runner to get to the finish. Our trail races are very laid back and great fun for the entire family, making it fun & easy for all! The USOLE Trail Challenge is great for people of all ages and all abilities looking to change up the running routine and get “off” the roads! Trail Race Location - We will be headed back to the Far Northside of Chicago and Schiller Woods! This is the original USOLE Trail Challenge course and location and we love this place! A great location very close to the city, but has the great trails and scenery of the woods in beautiful Schiller Woods. The trail will be a flatter off road course with crushed limestone, rocks & roots to run over. A nice blend of single and double track will satisfy all levels of trail runners! If we get a little rain, the course will have some mud section which will make it even more fun! Come out and run in our original USOLE Trail Challenge location!

Join us in the challenging Louisiana National Guard Norwegian Foot March on 12 DEC 2026. The Norwegian Foot March originated in 1915 as an endurance test for soldiers in the Norwegian Army. It has since been adopted at several U.S. military installations. Completion demonstrates physical endurance, mental toughness, and military readiness. The march requires participants to complete a 30-kilometer / 18.64-mile course while carrying a rucksack with a dry weight of at least 25 pounds, weighed both before and after finishing. Time requirements for completion vary by age and gender and determine eligibility for the Norwegian Foot March badge. A minimum of three water points will be used along the route. Participants are welcome to carry personal water supply. Please note that participants may only complete one march per calendar year as it pertains to earning a Norwegian Foot March badge. The Tinsel Toes 5k, brought to you by Cereal City Athletics, is a family fun run that weaves through the beautiful Festival of Lights in Downtown Battle Creek. Our focus is on highlighting our beautiful downtown and bringing friends and family together for fitness and festive fun. All proceeds from the event benefit Girls on the Run of Calhoun County. There will be day of registration available at packet pick-up 4-5:15 pm at Full Blast. Participants who register the day of the event will not be guaranteed shirts (they will be available on a first come, first serve basis).

Also each race morning inside the visitor center starting at 7 a.m. Race day details Starting lines will be near the Visitors Center in Forest Park. As with last year’s Series, we do not have a permit this year to use the Visitors Center on race day. While the Visitors Center is open, participants will need to follow its requirements for guests. Portable restrooms will be available in the parking lot across from the Visitors Center. We encourage participants to wait in their vehicles or outside before their start time. Water and safety stations will be set up on the course. Stations will have water and sports drink in cups. Participants will be required to pick up their own drinks at water stations. Participants are encouraged to bring their own water bottle or hydration device. Post-race refreshments will consist of water, sports drink, and pre-packaged products that participants can pick up on their own. Health safety protocols St. Louis Track Club encourages health and safety considerations regarding participants and volunteers. Participants will be required to follow any health and safety mandates that are in place for the City of St. Louis at the time of the race. Foremost, it is important to remember that the roads in Forest Park are open during the races, so walkers and runners should be vigilant throughout their races. Shirts and awards All series participants will receive a race shirt and series commemorative event medal. Shirts for series participants will be distributed at bib pickup. Participants in single races can purchase a shirt during registration. Awards will be given for each series (per gender) in the following age groups: 12 & under; 13-16; 17-19; 20-24; 25-29; 30-34; 35-39; 40-44; 45-49; 50-54; 55-59; 60-64; 65-69; 70-74; 75-79; 80 & over. Your age on December 14 will determine your age for the series, even if you're an individual race entrant. Series awards will be earned by accruing points across a maximum of four races (i.e., your four best races). There will be 5 awards per age/gender group. A runner’s races will be awarded points based on their age/gender group placement using the following scale: 1st – 50 points; 2nd – 45 points; 3rd – 40 points; 4th – 35 points; 5th – 30 points; 6th - 25 points; 7th - 20 points; 8th - 15 points; 9th - 10 points; all finishers receive 5 points. Details on receiving awards will be sent to recipients following the conclusion of the series. Only series registrants are eligible for series awards. For the individual races in each series, the top five runners in each age group by gender receive a ribbon. Results are posted by Start2Finish at the conclusion of each race. Participants may claim these awards by coming to the registration table. Cancellations and weather policy As with any race year, the safety and well-being of everyone is our utmost concern and we will keep all event options within the guidelines of the CDC, the State of Missouri, the City of St. Louis, and the Road Runners Club of America. Races will be held rain, snow, or shine and will not be cancelled except for cases of severe weather or unsafe road/course conditions. Less threatening conditions may cause alterations of the course or race day activities to ensure participant, volunteer, and community safety. The St. Louis Track Club is a nonprofit organization and all net proceeds are used to further the SLTC’s mission in the community. As such, no refunds or credits will be given in case of cancellation due to weather. Charity Shoe Drive We will be collecting your used running and other athletic shoes (cleats included). It doesn't matter what shape they are in, just bring them with you and drop off in the pile near race registration. Money raised from recycling the shoes will go to our Scholarship fund.

The Frosty 5K is jingling its way back and is slated to be held Dec. 12 near the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Montana building in Helena. The course will start and end at the BCBSMT building, while taking people through the Mountain View Meadows community. This is an in-person race, but not to worry, there is a virtual option as well. Give yourself an early present and celebrate the holidays by participating in our Frosty 5K. Registration is only $25 and the race will be capped at 600 people. Beanies This Year! Runners will receive a commemorative race beanie, medal, and race bib on race day as part of their race registration. The beanie design will be released later this fall. Back To Mountain View Meadows! Due to how popular the Frosty 5K has become, we moved the course last year to give people more room to run and provide a single-loop race. Supporting Montana's Health: All registration dollars go to support the Caring Foundation of Montana, which helps provide access to preventive health care services to Montanans. And, if you don't want to brave the elements (odds are it will be cold here in Helena) runners can avoid them and run on a treadmill with the virtual option. Or head outside. It's up to you! The Rutgers Big Chill 5K Run/Walk is a charitable event that has served the Rutgers University-New Brunswick, NJ community since 2003, helping to provide thousands of toys each year to local children. Skateboards, rollerblades, unauthorized bicycles, or other wheeled devices will not be permitted. Note: Sadly, no dogs are permitted. Note: Strollers and baby joggers are permitted. They must start at the back of the pack, and your child must always be secure in the stroller. Can I get a refund, donate my entry, or transfer my entry to someone else? No. The sale and transfer of race entry/bibs are strictly prohibited and will result in disqualification, and any individuals involved will be banned from future events. Inclement Weather Policy: Weather forecasts will be monitored prior to the event, paying special attention to the possibility of heavy rain, thunder and lightning, high winds, and extreme temperatures. If necessary, athletes will be made aware of these predictions on the RunFit website: www.irunfit.org so that participants can properly prepare for severe weather during the race and possible course alterations. Severe weather updates will also be sent to participants via email as necessary. The Race Director will monitor the weather and decide if any action will be taken to modify the race. Possible changes include altering the start time for the race or, in extreme situations, canceling the event. Please listen closely to all public address announcements at the race's starting line. Visible lightning will cause the race to be postponed for a minimum of 15 minutes. Additional sightings will continue to delay the race in 15-minute increments. If extreme heat is predicted, the athletes will be provided extra water before, during, and after the event. The medical team will be alerted that athletes may require additional medical attention during and after the event due to the high temperatures. Medical Support: Medical staff members will be ready to assist you at any time. Radio communications personnel will be positioned at every aid station along the course. The event officials have the right to withdraw any runner from the race who appears distressed or at risk. 2026 Date - December 12th Long Island has a rich and deep running culture. There are multiple events every weekend to choose from. However, runners that enjoy longer race distances or trail events have only a few options to choose from over the course of the entire year. This event will provide an opportunity for those that enjoy ultra or trail running to participate in a unique event. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Long Island Greenbelt Trail Conference, who help maintain the trails on Long Island. A backyard ultra is not a race to see who is the fastest but see who can endure the longest. Participants will run 4.167 miles every hour on the hour, but will be required to drop out if they cannot complete the distance in that time period. The final competitor to be able to complete a full loop will be declared the winner. Bib Pick Up Bib numbers will be assigned at check in. Join us on December 12th along the Cape Fear River Trail (paved trail) for a fun and festive morning! We want to flood the day with running Santas, walking Santas, Santa Paws, and little Santas! This is a non-competitive, non-timed event, meant to bring a little fun to the holiday season! All paces are welcome, as well as strollers. Pets are welcome and encouraged! We don't have any Santa suits for the pups, but we would love to see them dressed up, too! We have added the "1-mile" walk/run/shuffle option as well. The North Carolina State Highway Patrol (NCSHP) proudly presents the Lights & Sirens Race for Hope for Special Olympics North Carolina (SONC). The NCSHP, through their involvement with the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics North Carolina, will host the second ever community fundraising event to feature a 5K run and 1.5-mile fun run at the Charlotte Motor Speedway. All participants will have the unique opportunity to run on the Charlotte Motor Speedway track in support of nearly 53,000 registered SONC athletes and Unified partners. The Open House Youth Shelter is committed to improving the safety and well-being of displaced abused, neglected and vulnerable youth. Children and adolescents ages 6-18 who are in need of a safe place to stay can receive shelter in the 24-hour, 9-bed facility. Open House does more than just meet youths' basic needs for food, clothing, and shelter. Personal growth is encouraged through counseling services, vocational/educational opportunities, life skill building, and recreational activities. All confidential services are provided at no cost to youth and their families, and continue for a period of three months after discharge, to maximize the success of the family reunification plan.

Reindeer Run 5K – Run, Celebrate, and Make a Difference! The Reindeer Run 5K is one of Pittsboro’s favorite holiday traditions! This family-friendly event brings together runners, walkers, families, and community members while raising funds for the Chatham County Partnership for Children’s Physical Activity Grant Program, which helps create more opportunities for people of all ages to stay active and healthy throughout Chatham County. The Chatham County Partnership for Children proudly supports families with children under the age of five through direct family services, coaching and technical assistance for child care providers, and programs that promote healthy family activities across our community. While portions of the race on the Central Carolina Community College campus may look different from previous years, runners will still enjoy the familiar downtown Pittsboro section, a favorite part of the Reindeer Run experience. The Jingle Bell LEAP is an out-and-back 5K Run/Walk beginning at mile 0 of the American Tobacco Trail at Morehead Ave and Blackwell St. This event supports the Latino Educational Achievement Partnership which provides quality bilingual pre-K education and tutoring to elementary and middle school students. Pre-race packet pickup is available at the LEAP School on Friday, Dec. 11 from 4:30-6:30pm. Race day registration and check-in begins at the start area at 7:45am, and the run/walk begins at 9:00am. Street parking is available on Blackwell St. and in the lots off Jackie Robinson Blvd (next to Mellow Mushroom). Water station on course. Bagels and bananas at start and finish. Running for Hope. Running for Recovery. Running for Community. The North Dakota Santa Run has a story rooted in compassion, recovery, and community spirit. Originally founded as the Bismarck Santa Run, the event was born from the vision of Judge David Reich, a longtime North Dakota District Judge who saw firsthand the struggles of those battling addiction. Motivated to make a difference, Judge Reich created Runners Against Destructive Decisions (RADD), a running group that uses movement, friendship, and purpose to support those in active recovery. RADD began on a cold, sleety April morning in 2014 with a simple belief: Running can change your life. It became a supportive community for individuals in recovery, helping them set goals, build strength, and find encouragement on and off the trail. Today, RADD continues to meet every week, offering fellowship, accountability, and the reminder that positive steps — both literal and figurative — can lead to lasting change. Seeking a way to bring the message of recovery into the holiday season, founders Judge Reich and his wife Ann introduced the Santa Run — a 5K event where every participant dons a Santa suit and runs through a winter wonderland of red suits and white beards. The run quickly became a local favorite, filling the streets with joy while shining a light on addiction recovery and the importance of community support. In 2024, the Reich family entrusted the future of the event to the Mandan Progress Organization (MPO), ensuring the Santa Run would continue to thrive and grow as a cherished holiday tradition for both Mandan and Bismarck. Under MPO’s leadership, the North Dakota Santa Run remains deeply committed to its founding mission — raising awareness for addiction recovery and supporting organizations that make a difference in people’s lives. Proceeds from the run will continue to benefit support Hope Manor a recovery-based housing and support program dedicated to helping individuals overcome addiction and rebuild their lives with dignity and hope.
