The Sheyenne High School Track & Field Team is proud to host the 10th Annual Greg Grooters Memorial Run on the streets of West Fargo on Saturday, May 9, 2026.Greg Grooters passed away in 2016 after battling cancer. He was a dedicated teacher, coach, and administrator within West Fargo Public Schools. As the first principal of Sheyenne High School, Greg took great pride in establishing the school and building traditions that continue to shape its culture today.Greg was also an avid runner and passionate supporter of track and cross country. He participated in countless road races and coached the West Fargo and Moorhead High School track and cross country teams to State Championships. This walk is to bring awareness to those that have died due to substance use disorder, those that are still struggling and our unsheltered population.  Feel free to bring a sign to carry on this walk or a pair of shoes that you would like to carry to represent your loved one. Ohio CAN/Newark Homeless Outreach strives to educate, embrace and empower those whose lives are affected by substance use disorder and their families. This annual event began with the mission to raise awareness and support for veterans and military families, while also fostering a sense of community and pride for those who have sacrificed for our freedom. Continuing the tradition will be the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation. The Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation is the Nation’s oldest and largest provider of need-based scholarships to military children, with particular attention given to those whose parent has been killed or wounded in combat, or who have demonstrated financial need. A backyard-style run-til-you-stop ultra race at Kate Furbish Preserve East in Brunswick, ME. Join us for a long, fun, hard day of running on coastal Maine trails on May 9, 2026! Sample some of the finest single and double track Buttermilk Mountain (elevation 121ft) has to offer. Nutrition: not provided. PFAS: guaranteed. Stoke: High. What is a backyard race? Run a 4.17 mile lap on the same course every hour on the hour. If you don't finish a loop within the hour, you are out of the race. 12 hour cutoff time for a maximum of 50 miles of running. The race is open to all experience levels! Run as many or a few loops as you like.
