In the fight against cancer, silence is the last thing we need. The American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Glynn County event will be held in downtown Brunswick on Friday, May 8th.  The Relay For Life movement features community events that offer an inspiring opportunity to honor cancer survivors, remember those who have had cancer, and raise money to help end cancer. This year we’re excited to be adding a 5k run to the list of community events!   The 5k run will start at 6:30pm and wind through historic downtown Brunswick.  All runners will receive a tshirt and medal.  Event will be timed and results posted.   5k Runners are invited to join us before the race to cheer on our survivors as they take the symbolic Survivor Lap.  Know a survivor?  Please invite them to walk.  Stick around afterward to enjoy the festivities of our BLOCKPARTY, featuring live music by the incredible South of Savannah Band, yummy food trucks, and fun family activities. The Dead Carp has changed the long run from a 20K to a 10 Mile to celebrate Queen City Running Company's 10 years of being in business. Welcome to the Traverse City Trail Running Festival! Northern Michigan’s premier celebration of off-road running, this event takes you through the stunning Pere Marquette Forest along a variety of singletrack and wide doubletrack trails. The MP Strength & Performance Ruck Walk for Mental Health is an untimed 2-mile community walk focused on mental health awareness, movement, and community connection. The Newbsanity Mud Gauntlet course is consistently nominated as one of the top permanent obstacles courses in the nation. The 2026 Memphis in May Triathlon and AquaBike Division. On Saturday, May 9, 2026 The Memphis In May Olympic Triathlon will be held at again at Shelby Farms Park.  The 1.5K Swim will take place in Hyde Lake, The 40K Bike Route will take you around the park and the surrounding area.  The 10K Run will be on several of Shelby Farms paved trails.  The Memphis In May Triathlon packet pick up and all of the festivities will be at Shelby Farms Hyde Lake. The Mid South Rehab and UMMC Grenada Rehabilitation 5K Run and Walk benefits the UMMC Grenada Patient Needs Fund. This fund assists patients and families with various needs during a medical crisis.  All money raised for the UMMC Grenada Patient Needs Fund stays in Grenada. We're excited to continue to bring you this popular clinic for women and non-binary individuals with options beginner, intermediate, advanced, and adaptive riders. For 2026, we are holding the clinic over two days. Day 1, Saturday May 9, will offer all levels from Beginner to Advanced Tech Descending. Day 2, Sunday May 10, will the same clinics as Sat. plus Intro to Air. The clinic is hosted at Marshall Mountain; beginner and intermediate riders will start in the morning with some skills at the base area with some coffee and snacks--and will head onto the trails after lunch to work on using those skills on single track. The Donut Dash 4K run/walk and Mini Donut kids run will be held Saturday, May 9, 2026. Event proceeds support the Foundation for Winona Area Public Schools and its Forging a Future fundraising campaign, benefitting the Industrial Technology Program at WAPS.The timed 4K (2.5-mile) course is mostly on grass around the scenic property at Winona Senior High School. The Shawangunk Runners, with support from the Kiernan Farm/Bruynswick Winery in Gardiner, NY, is hosting  it's second annual 6k (3.8-mile) cross-country run for the benefit of the Ulster County SPCA animal shelter. Animal shelters are in dire need as the number of animals under their care rises.  The farm and winery are beautiful at the foot of the Shawanguk Ridge.  Come run and support the mission of the UCSPCA, listen to music, and have a glass of wine or a beer. The UCSPCA will be there for a meet and greet with some of the shelter animals. We will also have some free dashes for the youngest children. No outside alcohol is allowed. There are overall awards and awards for the top three in all standard 10-year age groups. The day of registration ($35) begins at 9 am, and the race begins at 10 am.
