The Run Happy 50k (and other "happy" distances) event will take place on May 2, 2026 at Potato Creek State Park Nature Center in North Liberty, Indiana. Back by popular demand! Union Academy High School Student Council and the Varsity Cross Country team are partnering up with the UA Foundation to put on UA’s first ever Cardinal Color Run. Our color run is a 5-kilometer race where participants are covered in colored powder while running, walking, or jogging. This will be our third Annual Soggy Bottoms Backyard Ultra, a day to test yourself on a farmland trail loop with scenic views, rolling hills, and South Mountain in the distance. The Samurai Sprint 5K and Dojo Dash Fun Run is a fundraiser held by Budokan Newton Martial Arts and Sensei's Samurai. We are excited to announce our 2nd Annual Samurai Sprint 5K and Dojo Dash Fun Run for charity. We are excited to be hosting this event, again, in Downtown Newton. All proceeds from this event go to fund the newly created William Alden Elliott Memorial Scholarship, in honor of Alden Elliott, who was killed in the line of duty on April 29, 2024. Alden Elliott was a graduate of Newton-Conover High School and a United States Marine. He worked for NC Department of Adult Correction with the Special Operations and Intelligence Unit.  Alden was a Task Force Officer with the U.S. Marshals Service, Carolinas Regional Fugitive Task Force. He was tragically killed in the line of duty on April 29, 2024 in Charlotte, North Carolina while attempting to serve a felony warrant.  Alden wholeheartedly supported his son Theo's involvement in martial arts here at Budokan Newton.  Ou

The Batesville Day 10K Race began in 1979 and winds through beautiful Virginia hills and orchards on paved roads. Awards are given to the top finishers. Staged out of beautiful Smith Mountain Lake State Park this triathlon classic has clear water, mountain views and fun courses. The swim features a sandy beach start and a crisp, clear lake. The bike and run courses are rolling, but not too challenging. This is a great race if you are just starting out in the sport, or have been racing for 20 years. Bridging two communities together, the Fox Heritage Run is a unique and rewarding 8K running/walking event that winds along the Fox River and over the beautiful Nelson Family Heritage Crossing. The 13.1-mile half marathon course starts at 8:00 am featuring rolling hills and the beautiful Enola Low Grade Rail Trail. Half Marathon finishers will receive a commemorative medal.  The 10K/5K run/walk will have a cannon start at 9:00am/9:05am. A free kids fun run will occur at 9:45am. Refreshments and inflatables will be on hand to round out our family fun morning.

The Rotary Club of Somerset will host its Fifth Annual Walk-Run-Ride Event on Saturday, May 2, 2026, along the Great Allegheny Passage in Rockwood (Mile 43.8). Participants can choose from a 5K Walk, 5K Run, 10K Run, or 24-mile bike ride while supporting local community projects. The race will begin at 9am and there will be a separate start for each the ride, run, and walk. The race will be out and back style with turn around markers along the trail including support teams. New for 2026, businesses are encouraged to register Workplace Teams, with the top three teams earning the chance to direct a portion of event proceeds to a Somerset County nonprofit of their choice ($300 for first place, $200 for second, and $100 for third).
