Have you Herd…  The Milk Run is Back Gather your friends and family and run, jog or “moooove” through the Milk District at the second annual, “The Milk Run 5K” fueled by TG Lee Dairy, Saturday, May 2, 2026. The HOH 5k is the sole fundraiser for the HOH scholarship program. This race is organized by the Northbrook District 28 PTO Council with volunteers from Greenbriar, Meadowbrook, Northbrook Junior High and Westmoor. All proceeds benefit the Homer O. Harvey Scholarship Fund. 5K runners and walkers will start at 8:00 a.m with a group start. We welcome strollers, but NO dogs, bikes or rollerblades please. The lot behind the junior high will be closed from 7:45 - 8:15 a.m. for the race. The race is chip timed for instant results of the race. Runners can see their results after they finish. 48th Annual Lake Hartwell Dam Run

********COURSE/RUN CHANGES for 2026********The Hart County Running Club has announced significant course and distance changes for this year’s event. Due to upcoming floodgate maintenance by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the top of the dam and adjacent roads will be closed periodically throughout 2026. As a result, the course has been modified and will not cross the dam or access Highway 29. This year’s run will be limited to a 4K run/walk, and the 10K option will not be offered.We appreciate your understanding and hope these temporary adjustments will not discourage your participation. This free event is to celebrate the health and wellbeing of Shawnee Mission School District staff and their family members.  *This event is closed to the general public.  All SMSD staff members and their immediate families are invited.  Children 8 years of age and up are allowed to register for the 5K event.  Children under 8 are allowed to participate in the 5K, but must be with an adult at all times while on the race course.  Strollers are welcome. The 11th Annual SUP & RUN 5K  presented by Charles Schwab or Sarasota event will be held at Nathan Benderson Park to benefit RUCK9 (www.RUCK9.com)   The SUP & RUN 5K gives athletes three great races in one to choose from.  5K RUN 5K Stand Up Paddle Board (SUP) OR5K SUP & 5K RUN (There is a start line mat (chip) for the combination SUP & RUN) Athletes participating in the combination SUP & RUN will run the 5K first and then hop on their paddle board for a 5K paddle around Nathan Benderson Park.  The SUP & RUN 5K draws top runners and SUP'ers who compete for cash prizes but it's our not-so-serious athletes who have the most prominent place in the event.   Athletes participating in the SUP portion of the race MUST know how to swim.  If you are not able to swim, you may not participate in the SUP portion.   The SUP & RUN 5K is a family style event.   WALKERS ARE WELCOME and encouraged to attend.   Why choose the SUP & RUN 5K?  Every finisher receives

This popular Sprint Triathlon is celebrating our 6th year in 2026.  Enjoy a safe and scenic race while enjoying the beauty of historic Defuniak Springs located in the Florida panhandle.  Our racers enjoy a 600 meter wet suit friendly swim in one of the world's two circular lakes, a 16 mile bike ride through the rolling hills of the Eucheeanna Valley and finish with a 5k flat run passing by the historic homes of Defuniak Springs. Enjoy pulled pork sandwiches after the race and Celebration Party at the Last Stop Beer Vault complete with a free beer! Big A 50K Trail Race

The Big A 50K Course The course is composed of three 10.35 mile loops starting at the summit of Mount Agamenticus (Big A) and climbing back up the Big A and going over Second Hill and Third Hill and back up the Big A. There are opportunities to cross the finish line at approximately 10 miles and 13 miles (or any multiple of them up to 31 miles/50K). The terrain is mostly single track with some dirt road and ATV-type trails. Footing is technical with plenty of rocks, roots, and elevation changes. Trail running shoes are recommended. The full 50K has approximately 5,787 feet of elevation gain.
