Join us for the 4th Annual 5k and 1 mile run/walk to raise funds for the Angel of Hope Statue and Memorial Garden! The race begins at the future location of our Angel of Hope Statue and Memorial Garden, in the open lot across the street from St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Teutopolis. Registration begins at 7:00 AM, and the race starts at 8:00 AM. All Children 12 and under can register for $5 - price will change at checkout for these youth registrations. The registration fee for participants 13 and older is $25 until April 25th; the price will then increase to $30. Participants can register on the morning of the event, however, we strongly encourage participants to register before the event. Our 5th annual, fun, local, hometown 5k race to help "Raise the Bar" for all Springport running athletes. This event will be run entirely in the town of Springport around a 2 lap road and trail course. There will be ample opportunities for spectators to cheer on all the athletes.  We will again start and finish at the Springport Bible Church this year. This change will help make less foot traffic on sidewalk on M-99 in front of the tavern and hopefully give us some more room. Our event is still GROWING!!! The ¾ Minus Cykeltur is a gravel grinder consisting of a 52-mile route on asphalt and gravel roads and a 75-mile route on asphalt, gravel, and some dirt singletrack trail. The 3/4 Minus starts and finishes on Oak Street adjacent to Matchwood Brewing Company and is followed by a party and award ceremony at Matchwood Brewing with food, drink, and live music. Jardine Elementary is hosting a 5K walk/run through the neighborhood in honor and support of our Instructional Coach, Dr. Bridget Stegman. She was diagnosed with ALS, and proceeds for the event will go toward the ALS Association, Mid-America Chapter. In 4 years we have raised $19,850 from Steps for Stegman. The 5K will take participants through the neighborhood around Jardine Elementary. Parking is available in the West and South parking lots. The event will start on the East side of the building.   All registrants will receive an event T-shirt, if registration is completed by April 4th. The Samurai Sprint 5K and Dojo Dash Fun Run is a fundraiser held by Budokan Newton Martial Arts and Sensei's Samurai. We are excited to announce our 2nd Annual Samurai Sprint 5K and Dojo Dash Fun Run for charity. We are excited to be hosting this event, again, in Downtown Newton. All proceeds from this event go to fund the newly created William Alden Elliott Memorial Scholarship, in honor of Alden Elliott, who was killed in the line of duty on April 29, 2024. Alden Elliott was a graduate of Newton-Conover High School and a United States Marine. He worked for NC Department of Adult Correction with the Special Operations and Intelligence Unit.  Alden was a Task Force Officer with the U.S. Marshals Service, Carolinas Regional Fugitive Task Force.
