CWU ROTC Norwegian Foot March

The Norwegian Foot March is a Norwegian military traditional event where soldiers ruck 30km with a minimum of 25lbs (dry weight) rucks on their back within a designated time according to age and gender. This event will be held by Central Washington Army ROTC at the John Wayne Trailhead going through the night of May 1st into May 2nd, participants who complete the event within time will receive an official Norwegian Foot March badge and certificate. Participants may be military or civilian so long as they are above 18 with appropriate attire and ruck. Attire for military personnel is their respected uniform according to regulation. Civilians are permitted to wear a long sleeve shirt, cargo/tactical pants, and boots appropriate for ruck marches. Both are required to bring a ruck with 25lbs dry weight and a headlamp with red lens capability (the light on the headlamp shines red). Kaylan's Warrior Fun Run is held in honor of Kaylan Haywood. She was diagnosed with DIPG (Diffused Intrusive Pontine Glioma) a brain tumor in the brain stem. She was an active, fun loving, caring 11 yr old full of life. Her wish was for our Ohana to be there for other Ohana's effected by DIPG and Childhood Brain Cancer. So we founded Kaylan Strong's Fight Like A Warrior Foundation to help Ohana's here in Hawaii. Kaylan's Warrior Fun Run is here to raise money for these Ohana's to help financially through the hardest time in their life. 5th Annual Recovery Awareness Walk & 5K

Now in its 5th year, our annual Recovery Awareness Walk will be continuing our 5k Walk/Fun Run options!  This event is spearheaded by the Shawano Menominee Resiliency Coalition to help bring awareness and support to those living in and working towards RECOVERY from addiction and mental health struggles in our local communities!  In the first two years, the Recovery Celebration & Awareness Walk was able to help raise funds to open the Shawano Recovery Center and the Greater Shawano area's first Women's Recovery Residence!  In the third year, funds were utilized to open a new recovery center, Rise Wellness, which is in the development phases of hiring an executive director and offering additional activities and programming to our local communities. Join us for the 4th Annual 5k and 1 mile run/walk to raise funds for the Angel of Hope Statue and Memorial Garden! The race begins at the future location of our Angel of Hope Statue and Memorial Garden, in the open lot across the street from St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Teutopolis. Registration begins at 7:00 AM, and the race starts at 8:00 AM. All Children 12 and under can register for $5 - price will change at checkout for these youth registrations. The registration fee for participants 13 and older is $25 until April 25th; the price will then increase to $30. Participants can register on the morning of the event, however, we strongly encourage participants to register before the event.
