The Delaware Turkey Trot is a family friendly 5k run/walk, with a 1.5 mile run/walk option. There is also a little Gobbler race for ages 8 and under as well as a virtual option. It is held on Thanksgiving morning behind the Delaware County Library, main Delaware branch. Each person receives a draw string bag, long sleeve shirt, finisher medal, and individual dessert. The pantry servers more than 5,000 families and provides enough groceries to prepare more than 150,000 meals each year. Through Healthy Bodies Health Minds, the Zanesville Noon Rotary works with local Schools and organizations to help address food insecurity among Children. During the summer of 2026, Rotary provided 200 meals bags for low-income children help bridge the gap in the summer meal programs around the 4th of July. The 5K Course will start at 8:30 am and is $25 for adults, $10 for students age 6-18, and free for kids 0-5 with a paid adult. Event route is on public sidewalks along streets with vehicle traffic and does cross commercial driveways. Walkers are allowed on the 5-K course, we ask that you consider congregating towards the rear of the starting area to allow runners plenty of space to get started. The 1-mile Fun Run/Walk will start at 8:40 am and is $10 for adults, $5 for students age 6-18, and free for kids 0-5 with a paid adult. The ORRC Turkey Trot at the Oregon Zoo is a multi-generational family event. Runners and walkers of all abilities love the 5K, untimed out-and-back course. The event starts at The Oregon Zoo by the Forestry Center and the Max station, then goes out toward the International Rose Garden, and finishes inside The Oregon Zoo at the Elephant Plaza. The Tot Trot (children 0- 4 years old) and the Gobble Gallop (for children between 5 and 10 years old) events follow the 5K at the Elephant plaza inside the zoo. Every entrant in the 5K and kids events receive an awesome beanie hat and chocolate turkey. There will be no shirts this year, but we are bringing back medals for all finishers. They are back at it this year organizing a feast for families in need. Each Thanksgiving, they cook and deliver full meals to over 200 families, many of them were at least partially sponsored by generous Run’ucopia runners. To sponsor a family’s full meal, it is $35. Or please consider just the turkey at $20, or just the sides for $10. The on-line registration form lets you donate any level you feel able to give. The Chester County Turkey Trot is celebrating its 25th year and there's still nothing better than spending time with friends and family on Thanksgiving Day! We are excited to bring the community together once again for a fun social event and a great cause! Did you know that this race has helped to raise funds for childhood cancer research since 2012? Get a festive start to YOUR Thanksgiving morning at the Chester County Turkey Trot 5k Run/1mile Walk and help children facing a cancer diagnosis (through sponsorships and donations) through Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF). The previous race beneficiary, Cure4Cam Childhood Cancer Foundation, has transitioned to The Cure4Cam Hero Fund through ALSF. Come be part of the largest public 5K in Butler County. Run or walk on this flat & fast USATF certified 5K course. This run supports the work of the Nazareth Branch of River Crossing YMCA and is an example of how we bring people, families, and communities together to live healthier lives-- while having a ton of fun!
