You may walk at any of the events. However, the police and/or volunteers may ask you to move to the sidewalk if you do not finish the race within a certain time for the safety of everyone. Road closes at 11:00 a.m. For how long will the course be open? The route will stay open until 11:00 am. Police, at their discretion, will move you to the sidewalk if need be. Where is the water stop(s)? There will be two water stations for the 10K (Mile 2 and 4) and one water station for the 5K. (Mile 2) Are their restrooms (portable toilets) along the course? Restrooms are available for the 10K just after mile 3. Am I able to bring a stroller to the race? Yes. We ask that any baby strollers start the race at the back of the pack to avoid creating trip hazards for other participants at the start. Note: Your child must always be secured in the stroller. Am I able to bring my dog to the race? No. Loma Colorado Park does not permit dogs. Where can spectators, friends, and family watch the course? Can they be at the start or finish areas? All are welcome to check out the NM Hobbler Gobbler at the start (Loma Colorado Ave., just west of the finish) and finish (Loma Colorado Park). You can be at the different mile markers and water stops. Please be cognizant of traffic and the participants as they run/walk. Please listen to police/security instructions as well. We recommend staying at the finish to see your friends and/or loved ones’ finish under the giant RunFit inflatable! Can I wear headphones on the course? Yes, you can. Please consider keeping the volume low enough to stay aware of your surroundings and any directions or announcements given audibly by race personnel, police, or other runners. Can I run with my GPS device? Yes, participants may wear their GPS watches/devices. However, these items do not count as "second timing devices" and will not be recognized by the event as official times or distances. What is not allowed on the course? For everyone's safety, baby carriers, baby backpacks, inline skates, motorized scooters, bicycles, skateboards, and animals of any kind are prohibited from the course. Note: See information about “dogs”. Strollers and baby joggers are permitted on the 5K course only. Strollers and baby joggers must start at the back of the pack, and your child must always be secured in the stroller. MISCELLANEOUS Where will restrooms be located on race morning? INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY Weather forecasts will be monitored before the event, paying special attention to the possibility of heavy rain, thunder and lightning, high winds, and extreme temperatures. If necessary, athletes will be made aware of these predictions on the RunFit website: www.irunfit.org so that participants can properly prepare for severe weather during the race and possible course alterations. Severe weather updates will also be sent to participants via email as necessary. The Race Director will monitor the weather and decide if any action will be taken to modify the race. Possible changes include altering the start time for the race or, in extreme situations, cancellation of the event. Please listen closely to all public address announcements at the race's starting line. Visible lightning will cause the race to be postponed for a minimum of 15 minutes. Additional sightings will continue to delay the race in 15-minute increments. If extreme heat is predicted, extra water will be provided to the athletes before, during, and after the event. The medical team will be alerted that athletes may require additional medical attention during and after the Safety is our top priority at the NM Hobbler Gobbler Thanksgiving Day Run. We have medical personnel on-site. In the case of an emergency, please find a volunteer in a bright vest or approach any event staff member for assistance. The Race with Grace 10K Why RwG 3.0?The Race with Grace (RwG) 10K was established in 1991 as an outgrowth of the participation of several men in the Spencerport Canal Days races during the mid-1980’s. It had a two-fold purpose, the more important one being a community outreach. Secondarily, it was play on the current Pastor’s name, George Grace, who was a runner. In our inaugural year we had 185 registrants and 171 finishers. Our attendance peaked in 2015 when we celebrated our silver anniversary race with 1245 registrants and 1121 finishers. Over the race’s 31-year existence, a total of approximately 5,000 individuals have participated. Five men remain who have finished every single RwG and ran virtually in 2020. They are Stan Cipira, Bob Dyjak, Dave O’Leary, Ric Perry and Doug Ralph. The race established itself as one of the best races in western NY. It has consistently been named one of NY’s finest races by New England Runner magazine. In addition, it has been recognized as one of the cornerstone races in the Rochester Runner of the Year series. All proceeds, once race expenses are deducted, go to support C.U.R.E. Childhood Cancer Association. With the current race director stepping down due to work and family obligations, no clear choice for a successor, the race’s future appeared to be at crossroads. Thankfully, as the “door” on the race was quickly closing, the Rochester Running Company and Lakeshore Community Church agreed to manage and host this year’s race. Join us on Thanksgiving morning for the 5th annual Cambridge Thanksgiving Turkey Trot 5k. This will be a morning of fun, community fellowship, and exercise! This fast and scenic course will start at the old brick Coila Church on State Route 372 complete with its new addition and increased parking capacity, and head towards the village of Cambridge. You will get to run along Old Coila Road, through portions of downtown, and by the old Cambridge Hotel before heading back down main street and finishing at The Coila Church, where snacks and beverages will be handed out as you finish, along with finish photos and finisher goodies! Course maps will be provided at check-in, route will be clearly marked and controlled by law enforcement to ensure safety. Over the last 4 years, we have been proud to put 100% of registration profit towards the Cambridge Food Pantry, the CVRS (Cambridge Valley Rescue Squad), and the Cambridge Fuel Fund! The 2026 Race is presented by New Paltz Healthy & Nutrition Center and Kniffen Homes.. The Family of New Paltz Turkey Trot is a 5K run and walk held annually Thanksgiving morning to support Family of New Paltz’s Food Pantry and Crisis Services. Family of New Paltz is a crisis intervention center located in the heart of New Paltz since 1975. Family provides a myriad of services, including a 24 hour hotline and new text line, food pantry, counseling, support groups and shelters for adults, adolescents and victims of domestic violence. This year's event will include the famous Mashed Potato Fun Run, which is free for kids 12 and under, and for the more serious runners, our USATF certified 5K course will include chip timed start and finish. As part of the package provided by the chip-timing company, photos of individual runners crossing the finish line will be available for upload at no cost. Age groups this coming year will be in ten-year increments, and medals will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each age group, with separate awards for male and female. The Duck Turkey Trot 5K is an annual charitable run/walk to be held on Thursday November 26, 2026. This event is produced by the Outer Banks Track Club, a local 501 C-3 nonprofit which helps youth runners in Dare County. The race is open to runners and walkers of all abilities and continues the tradition established by the Advice 5K Turkey Trot. Many vacationers and locals remember this race fondly before its retirement in 2021. This event is for vacationers, homeowners, and locals to celebrate the Thanksgiving Day holiday together.
