ABOUT THIS EVENT The 10th Annual Bobcats Turkey Trot 5K is an event organized by the Beaver Bobcats Girls Basketball program. There are two options for this 5K. (1) A chip timed Run/Walk, (2) untimed Fun Run/Walk. Timing provided by Wolf Creek Race Management. General Info: The 11th Annual Grove City Area Federal Credit Union Grateful Gallop will take place on Thanksgiving morning at 9:00 AM in Grove City, PA. The race starts on Greenwood Drive and travels along the Hunter Farm bike path. The Grateful Gallop 5k supports the Grove City Community Food Pantry! The Kiski Valley Turkey Trot 5K Race and 1Mile Fun Run is a community event for the whole family to enjoy this Thanksgiving! This race is for the serious or the casual runners or walkers of all ages. It has become a great family outing to attend before the family gathering for a holiday feast. We are offering an on-site race that is digitally timed by Miles for Smiles on our 5K certified out and back course at Kunkle Park, Apollo PA. In-Person 5K Race and 1Mile Fun Run The 5K in-person race begins at 9am and departs and ends at Kunkle Park, Apollo PA. The 5K is digitally timed and all race awards will be given at the closing ceremony which begins when most runners complete the course. You must be present to receive awards! The 1Mile Fun Run takes place within the park and starts shortly after the 5K. The 1Mile is not a timed event. Snacks and water will be provided. Running in Honor of Officer Brian Gregg This event is being held in memory of Officer Brian Gregg, a dedicated member of the Newtown Borough Police Department who tragically lost his life in the line of duty on September 29, 2005. Officer Gregg had just begun serving full-time when he was fatally shot while on duty in the emergency department at St. Mary Medical Center. Born in Bristol and raised in Levittown, Officer Gregg was a graduate of Bucks County Community College and Ferris State University. Before joining the force, he owned a contracting business and later pursued his passion for public service through law enforcement. He was known for his courage, compassion, and commitment to protecting his community. Brian left behind his loving wife, Kella Ann Kneubuehl Gregg, and was the devoted father of Kyle Gregg. This year marks 20 years since his passing, a solemn milestone that reminds us not only of his sacrifice but of the enduring legacy he left behind. To this day, Officer Gregg’s name lives on through Brian S. Gregg Memorial Park and the Officer Brian S. Gregg Memorial Bypass, a section of the Newtown Bypass dedicated in his memory—and now, through this new annual tradition Supporting the Bucks County Heroes Scholarship Fund Proceeds from the race will benefit the Bucks County Heroes Scholarship Fund, which provides educational scholarships to the children of local first responders—law enforcement, firefighters, EMS personnel, and correctional officers—who have been killed or permanently disabled in the line of duty. Friends and family who do not meet the above requirements may run as guests. First guest runners, male and female, will receive separate prizes. They cannot run as a team and will not count in the team scoring. The Course The course is 5 and 5/8 miles over hilly terrain. Starting at Malta Boat Club on Kelly Drive, the runners go outbound on Kelly to Brewery Hill, turn right and go up and over Girard Avenue bridge, then right onto Lansdowne Avenue. Just past Sweetbriar cutoff, the course turns right and starts the true “cross country” segment: from here the race is over grassy surface. Runners go to Meade Monument, then follow the cyclone fence to the Pagoda entrance gate, cross thru the service entrance to Belmont Plateau, up the hill to Belmont Mansion, and return by way of Brewery Hill, down Kelly Drive to Malta. Rules Points for team trophies will be scored only by the first five finishers from each club for men's teams and the first three finishers from each club for women's teams. Only those eligible in accordance with the Eligibility Rules will be permitted to run in the race. Anyone running with the wrong number (or someone else’s number) will be disqualified and their team (club) will be assessed an additional 25 points. Gobble for good at the Y's annual Thanksgiving Day family tradition in the greater Philadelphia area, the Gobble Wobble 5K! This race is one of the Greater Philadelphia YMCA's biggest fundraisers of the year, and helps us offer financial assistance to families who need access to affordable child care, youth programs, swim lessons, and so much more. Each year, the Newport County YMCA hosts the annual Pie Run on Thanksgiving Day. The 17th annual Running of the Turkeys through downtown York will take place Thanksgiving morning on November 26 with a start time of 8am. First Presbyterian and Trinity United Methodist churches will host the event. Running of the Turkeys was founded in 2010 by local runners and church members wanting to bring a family-friendly Thanksgiving run to York’s historic downtown and to give runners an opportunity to give back to their community. Runners can drop off non perishable items to donate to PATH during packet pick up on Wednesday, November 25 or on the morning of the race. People Attempting to Help, or PATH, will receive the proceeds and donations along with the Grace and Mercy Soup Kitchen of the Wesley United Methodist Church and YSD1 Education Foundation. Started in 1982 by the Western York County Christian Ministers Association, PATH has been serving the citizens of York and its outlying environs for 25 years. The not for profit organization includes a food pantry and associated thrift store and provides emergency aid for utilities and other needs for those in crisis. Our mission is to bring glory to God by raising funds for charitable purposes and to provide our community a well-organized Thanksgiving Day family event – a 4-mile walk/run through historic Murfreesboro, Tennessee. We have added two new events for 2026. The first event is an untimed, 2K walk, and participants will receive a race shirt and a medal. The second event is the Borodash Sleep-In Superstar, where the participant will receive a race shirt for supporting Borodash while sleeping in. This year's race is an in-person event. The Borodash 4-mile race starts at 8:00 a.m. and the 2K walk will start at 8:15 am on Thanksgiving Day.
