Join us for this Thanksgiving Day 5K at Grain Valley High School! The event will benefit the Grain Valley High School Cross Country team. The race will start at 9:00am and participants will receive a race shirt and finishers medals and compete for age group and overall awards. The kids run will be on the track after the 5K. Packet Pickup Packet pickup will be held at Grain Valley High School in Grain Valley, MO from 12-4pm on Wednesday, November 25. There will be limited packet pickup on race morning and those waiting until race morning to sign up or pick up their packets risk not being able to get the shirt size they registered for. There will not be any packet pickup opportunities after the race and no packets will be mailed.

The Annual Hillcrest Hope Giving Thanks 5K will be held on Thanksgiving Day 2026 at 9 AM in Liberty, MO. All proceeds from this event benefit Hillcrest Hope by raising awareness and funds to support its mission to transition homeless families to self-sufficiency. This event will be chip-timed. Each year, Vernon Recreation hosts a Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot to raise funds and collect non perishables for the Harvest House Food Pantry located in Sussex, NJ. The Harvest House Community Lunch Program was established by 13 Vernon Township High School students in 1997 as the VTHS Hunger Project and is a nonprofit 501c(3) corporation that continues with its mission to provide nourishing meals in a clean, welcoming safe environment to those in need. They currently serve 50+ people A DAY through a pickup and go system and together we will help them continue to meet this community need as we head into the colder months. Am I able to bring my dog to the race? No. Loma Colorado Park does not permit dogs. Where can spectators, friends, and family watch the course? Can they be at the start or finish areas? All are welcome to check out the NM Hobbler Gobbler at the start (Loma Colorado Ave., just west of the finish) and finish (Loma Colorado Park). You can be at the different mile markers and water stops. Please be cognizant of traffic and the participants as they run/walk. Please listen to police/security instructions as well. We recommend staying at the finish to see your friends and/or loved ones’ finish under the giant RunFit inflatable! Can I wear headphones on the course? Yes, you can. Please consider keeping the volume low enough to stay aware of your surroundings and any directions or announcements given audibly by race personnel, police, or other runners. Can I run with my GPS device? Yes, participants may wear their GPS watches/devices. However, these items do not count as "second timing devices" and will not be recognized by the event as official times or distances. What is not allowed on the course? For everyone's safety, baby carriers, baby backpacks, inline skates, motorized scooters, bicycles, skateboards, and animals of any kind are prohibited from the course. INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY Weather forecasts will be monitored before the event, paying special attention to the possibility of heavy rain, thunder and lightning, high winds, and extreme temperatures. If necessary, athletes will be made aware of these predictions on the RunFit website: www.irunfit.org so that participants can properly prepare for severe weather during the race and possible course alterations. Severe weather updates will also be sent to participants via email as necessary. The Race Director will monitor the weather and decide if any action will be taken to modify the race. Possible changes include altering the start time for the race or, in extreme situations, cancellation of the event. The Race with Grace 10K Why RwG 3.0?The Race with Grace (RwG) 10K was established in 1991 as an outgrowth of the participation of several men in the Spencerport Canal Days races during the mid-1980’s. It had a two-fold purpose, the more important one being a community outreach. Secondarily, it was play on the current Pastor’s name, George Grace, who was a runner. In our inaugural year we had 185 registrants and 171 finishers. Our attendance peaked in 2015 when we celebrated our silver anniversary race with 1245 registrants and 1121 finishers. Over the race’s 31-year existence, a total of approximately 5,000 individuals have participated. Five men remain who have finished every single RwG and ran virtually in 2020. They are Stan Cipira, Bob Dyjak, Dave O’Leary, Ric Perry and Doug Ralph. The race established itself as one of the best races in western NY. It has consistently been named one of NY’s finest races by New England Runner magazine. In addition, it has been recognized as one of the cornerstone races in the Rochester Runner of the Year series. All proceeds, once race expenses are deducted, go to support C.U.R.E. Childhood Cancer Association. With the current race director stepping down due to work and family obligations, no clear choice for a successor, the race’s future appeared to be at crossroads. Thankfully, as the “door” on the race was quickly closing, the Rochester Running Company and Lakeshore Community Church agreed to manage and host this year’s race.
