The Judd Jog is an annual 5k presented by Polk Sheriff’s Charities, Inc. with all proceeds benefiting the United Way and held at the Polk County Sheriff’s Office main office in Winter Haven. The Heritage All Day 5k was dreamed up in 2021 with a route encircling our church, local school, and dozens of our neighbors. The format is designed to represent the power of prayer and how praying circles around our community can make meaningful change.   Since it’s inception, we have collectively circled our community 864 times and raised over $44,000 towards our mission! We hope you can join us in 2026 for a fun day or running, walking and raising funds to circle and support our community. Our 5th annual event will be in the Spring of 2026 and will have 4 waves of races (7am, 8am, 9am, 10am) each with 2 loops effectively circling our community over and over all morning long –hence the name, All Day 5k. Dolly's Imagination Library in Powhatan is pleased to announce its inaugural 5K color run. This family friendly fun run will start and end at Powhatan High School, and feature celebratory color powdering stations along the way. Registrations and donations will all go toward supporting early literacy through the Dolly Parton Imagination Library which sends an age-appropriate book, once a month, to each child in Powhatan, up to their fifth birthday.

The Western Region 5K Walk/Run is a signature community event within the Make Moves Against Breast Cancer (MMABC) statewide campaign. Held on the scenic Huckleberry Trail in Blacksburg, this event brings together individuals, families, and local organizations to make moves in the fight against breast cancer. Serving as both a regional fundraiser and a model for future community-led MMABC walks across Virginia, this event blends accessibility, physical activity, and community spirit with meaningful local impact. Participants of all ages and abilities are invited to move at their own pace while supporting breast cancer awareness and programs. Registrants will create a personal fundraising page and are encouraged to raise $300 individually or $500 to $1,000 as a team. The 9th Annual Woodfin 5K will start Saturday, April 25, 2026 at 9:00 AM. Your Registration and Donations will make a real difference for the children we are educating at our terrific neighborhood school, Woodfin Elementary.
