Get some miles in at this family-friendly run/walk! Timed events: 5K, 10K or 1 mile options that will take you through Historic Downtown Cape Charles, overlooking the Chesapeake Bay. Start times will be STAGGERED for the 1 Mile (9:00 AM), 10K (9:15 AM) and 5K (9:30 AM). Her work ethic, intellect, persona, and dedication to protecting the nation were unparalleled. It is with great sadness that Betty lost her battle with cancer in 2018. In her memory, JMU Intelligence Analysis (IA) professor and husband of Betty, Dr. Tim Walton, established an annual scholarship. Each year, the scholarship is awarded to a highly motivated IA student from an underrepresented population within the IA program, following in Betty’s footsteps. Captain Fleming’s Third Annual Gator Fun Run

Background:   From about 1921 to 1925 the city of Omaha wintered alligators in Fire Station No. 6, located at 24th & Cuming street. When the weather turned warm the alligators were transferred to Riverside Park, which today is the location of Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo & Aquarium. On March 22, 1922 an alligator escaped its basement enclosure, mounted the stairs, and chased Captain Charles R. Fleming, and the other seven firefighters, from the firehouse. It was an event of some notoriety, receiving several columns of ink in Omaha newspapers.    In memory of this strange, historical moment, the Omaha Firefighters Historical Society (OFFHS) returns with Captain Fleming’s 2nd Annual 5K Gator Fun Run. YCFL Color Run 2026 - Think Green, Run Clean

YCFL Color Run for Environmental Sustainability is co-hosted by the Youth Council of Fort Lee, Borough of Fort Lee, LG Electronics USA, Bergen New Bridge Medical Center, and Peter Magnone Foundation. The 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk will start at 10:00 AM sharp followed by the 5K Run at 10:45 AM.  Packet Distribution will be held on April 24th, Friday, between 5:15 PM to 7:00 PM - the location will be announced later. The inaugural Simon’s Heart of a Champion 5K Run/Walk will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2026 at 8AM.  All proceeds from the event will equally benefit the Simon J. Mariani Foundation, Inc. (Foundation) and the Surf City Volunteer Fire Department & EMS Co #1 (Fire Department), both IRS Code Section 501(c)(3) not for-profit organizations.   The Foundation awards educational scholarships and hardship financial relief distributions to needy individuals. Molly's Miles 5K, 10K and Virtual Run is a mid-Missouri race that raises money to support the family members of police officers killed in the line of duty. All proceeds from the race will be provided to Missouri Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.). The race is named after Officer Molly Suzanne Thomas Bowden who was mortally wounded while conducting a routine traffic stop on the night of January 10, 2005 in Columbia, Missouri. Molly passed away on February 10, 2005 at the age of 26 years old. She had been on the Columbia Police force for over three years and was the first Columbia Police officer killed in the line of duty. The slogan for this race is "In Honor of the Survivors," and focuses on the surviving families and affected co-workers of Missouri law enforcement officers who have died in the line of duty. Love the traditional fall McNellie's Pub Run?  Love beer?  Love baseball?  Then this is the event for you!   This event is not a timed race but more like an all day pub crawl.  You will have from 10 am until 6 pm to complete the "course" we suggest, making stops along the way at Fassler Hall, McNellie's, and finally Elgin Park in downtown Tulsa.  At each stop if you sign up for the beer version of the race you will be able to enjoy a beer.  Those who elect the "beer version" will be able to enjoy a total of five beers during the event (3 during and 2 post event) while those who elect the "non-beer" version will still receive the two post event brews at any of these McNellie's Group Establishments:  Elgin Park, McNellie's, Fassler Hall, or Dilly Diner.   All entries will include a great race shirt, as well as a finisher medal!
