The Red Wolf Sanctuary is once again hosting it's 5K and 10K Trail Walk/Run, Across their beautiful, 452 acre facility in Rising Sun, Indiana. The event will be timed but recreational runners and walkers are welcome. All proceeds from the event will be used to support the sanctuary and its endeavors to preserve native North American wildlife through environmental education and the rehabilitation of injured and orphaned wildlife. The 5K is a beautiful course, the first couple of miles take you along the waterways, through wetlands and fields and the final mile takes you down the trail passed the large wildlife enclosures. If runners choose to take on the challenge and continue with the 10K they will at one point run up an over 240 feet in elevation in just under a mile. The Country Lake 5K run, walk & jog event was inspired out a of a desire to share the beauty and resources of Country Lake Christian Retreat with our neighbors and our community. In many ways, the sprawling 200 acre property is a hidden gem to those who live the closest to it so we wanted to carve out one special day each year to open our doors and our grounds to our friends, family, and community. We love giving back to the community and have been fortunate to donate a portion of the proceeds each year to support our local schools, clubs and athletic programs. Fall is arguably the most beautiful time of year at Country Lake with the fall colors and breathtaking scenery so beginning this amazing day with a 5K Race is a wonderful way to kick it off. Historically, the Country Lake 5K has been 75 percent rugged trail and 25 percent road race. We listened to our racers and have made an adjustment to the course to incorporate more roadway and less rugged trail. Run the Monon Indy Runners and Walkers - Long Run & Picnic Sheridan/Carmel to Broad Ripple Version Join us for the most fun on a long run, "Run the Monon"! Continuing our "rotation" between Downtown versions and exploring the northernmost section from Sheridan - this year we'll be starting in Sheridan! We'll start at Marott Park in Broad Ripple (park at Park Tudor School across College Ave), load up buses in that parking lot and bus up to our Starts = at Biddle Memorial Park in Sheridan for the 20-milers or the Lowes on 146th/Carmel for the 12-milers, then Run/Walk back down to Marott Park. There are two available distances: 20 miles and 12 miles. Note: This is NOT a race - it is untimed and no traffic restrictions are in place - but rather a unique chance to get in a long training run with a group of friends and enjoy a fun route. RESTROOMS: We will have a couple of portable restrooms at Marott Park. Biddle Park and the Lowes Home Improvement store both have restrooms available. ARRIVAL TIME / BUS PICK-UP 20-miler Runners will need to arrive starting at 7:00 am to check-in and load the buses. The buses will leave at 7:30am SHARP! 12-mile Walkers (Early Departure) will need to arrive starting at 7:00am for a PROMPT early departure at 7:30am to the 12 miles drop-off point. This has been a nice addition for our Walkers (15:00 per mile pace or slower) to get a bit of a head start on the 12-mile distance. 12-mile Runners should arrive by 8:15am. Their buses will return from dropping off the 20 milers, load up the 12-milers, then leave the parking lot around 8:45 am. STARTING LINE LOCATIONS 20-milers will be bused to Biddle Memorial Park in Sheridan. The run will start at approximately 8:00 am, where we will run a bit north to be sure to hit 20 miles. 12-milers will be bused to the Lowes at 146th in Carmel. The run will start at approximately 9:00 am, starting east to the Hagen-Burke Trail, then south connecting to the Monon from there. NOTE: there is construction around 146th St so there may be a slight detour. Be sure to follow the detour signs! Certified 5K course through the Donner Park area. There is ample parking on site. Support volunteers are positioned at intersections.. Check in and same day registration 7:00-8:00 am, day of event. We will walk and run in solidarity with all the market women and peasant farmers in Limonade who, like Polidor, are struggling to become literate. At Carnival time, participants in our literacy program undertake a cross country walk. They celebrate literacy, recruit more learners, and dance and sing through rural communities. Ours will be a companion event to help raise funds for basic class supplies and teacher stipends. ALFA, an extensive adult literacy program, is a project of Friends of Haiti at St. Bartholomew Parish, in partnership with the parishes of St. Anne & St. Isidore in Limonade. This year, we celebrate 22 years of literacy in Limonade Haiti and beyond.

The inaugural Haunted Jaunt 5K & 10K Trail Races will take place on the Lawrence River Trails. This is a nighttime race that may feature a few spooky surprises along the route! Feel free to wear a costume but keep in mind the challenging nature of nighttime trail running when making costume choices. Start Time Sunset is scheduled for 6:29 PM. Races will begin at 6:30 PM. *Please note, depending on field size start times between the 5K and 10K may be staggered by up to 15 minutes. Race directors will make an announcement if start time adjustments are made closer to the race. Light Source Required of all Runners All runners must carry a light source such as a headlamp, waistlight, or handheld flashlight. It will be dark on the course. Course The Lawrence River Trails are relatively flat singletrack with a few short hills sprinkled in for fun. They are flowy and not too technical, with only a few roots or rocks, perfect for trail running experts and beginners alike. Races begin near the Levee gate, go down through the parking lot, and enter the River Trails on the south (right-hand) side. The 5K is one loop following the 5K Loop route. 10K Runners will complete two loops of the 5K Loop route. This is a non-certified course on trail; your watch will likely read a little more or less than 5K or 10K. If the trails are unsafe for runners or vulnerable to damage due to muddy conditions, an alternative course will be provided by the Lawrence Trail Hawks Race Directors. The alternate course will most likely be on the packed-gravel Lawrence Levee Trail. Aid Stations Water, electrolytes, energy snacks, fruit, and other items will be available on the course. A small aid station will be available near the 5K Loop turnaround, about halfway through the race for 5K runners. 10K runners will pass the turnaround aid station during each of your loops and will also have access to an aid station at the trailhead at the start of your second loop. We encourage runners to bring your own reusable hydration bottles or cups, in keeping with the Trail Hawks motto "Kindness to Life and Land". We will provide a few cups by the water coolers at the aid stations if you are in need. Awards All finishers will receive a wooden finishers medal. Awards will be given for 1st place overall and 1st place masters in each gender for the 5K and 10K races. Swag Participants registered by October 10 will receive a Haunted Jaunt t-shirt. Extra shirts may be available on raceday for anyone who registers after October 10 on a first come, first served basis but are not guaranteed. Participants will receive a custom race bib. Cutoff The Haunted Jaunt 5K and 10K races will have an end time of 9:30 PM. Runners and walkers are welcome to take advantage for up to 3 hours to complete either distance. To ensure you make the cutoff time, 10K runners/walkers must leave the trailhead aid station to begin their final loop of the course by 8:00 PM. Participants who choose to continue on the public trails past 9:30 pm do so at their own risk, without support from the race. You may consider parking in the public lot near the Kansas River bridge at the corner of N. 2nd Street and Locust St and take advantage of an approximately 1 mile warm-up and cool-down on on the river levee. Deferral Policy Seeing you cross the finish line is the reason we host this race. If you’ve signed up for one of the events, but are unable to safely participate in the race, we offer the following options. CHANGING DISTANCE PRIOR TO THE RACE Runners may contact the Race Director and transfer to a lower or a higher distance on or before October 10. If moving to a higher distance, a pro-rata charge will apply. No credit or refund can be given for transfers to a lower-distance race. You can also manage your registration on RunSignup and change the distance yourself. NO BIB TRANSFERS The Haunted Jaunt does not allow refunds or for the runners to transfer entries to other participants. Race numbers and official participant bibs are assigned by the Race Director to each specific participant and may not be sold, transferred, reproduced, replicated, or modified. DEFERRAL Runners may defer their race entries to the following year by notifying the Race Director on or before October 10. DID NOT START If you can’t attend, and haven’t deferred, please let the Race Director know at least seven days before the race, so your name can be removed from the starters list. If you don’t show up, and don’t let us know in advance that you can’t make it, you’ll be recorded as DNS in the race results. Rules and Safety Runner safety has always been, and will continue to be, a top priority for our event. Respect all participants and volunteers to ensure a safe and enjoyable race for everyone. Be courteous to others when passing or being passed. Single track trails are tight, so stay alert. Announce when you plan to pass someone, and go around them on the left when it is safe to do so. Kids and families are welcome! Participants must be at least 12 years old and any child under 14 must be accompanied by an adult on the course for the entirety of the race. Any child 14 or older but younger than 16 must have an adult present at the event. The River Trails are not suitable terrain for strollers. All runners must carry a light source such as a headlamp, waistlight, or handheld flashlight. It will be dark on the course. Follow the Trail Hawks motto "Kindness to Life and Land" and pick up any wrappers, tissues, bottles, or food waste that you use on the trail. We love dogs and normally welcome them. However, due to the narrow nature of the trails, the race being ran at night and presence of "haunt cast" on the trails we ask that you please keep the pups at home for this race. Personal music devices are strongly discouraged. No speakers allowed. If you wear headphones, use a low volume, one earbud, or bone conduction models that allow you to stay alert. In order to participate or volunteer in Lawrence Trail Hawks activities, you must be able to respect the identity of runners in regards to race, sexuality, gender identity, physical ability, age and body type. Any discriminatory language and behavior should be brought to the attention of the race director/event leader as soon as it is safe to do so. Anyone found speaking or behaving in a manner that diminishes the ability for fellow athletes and volunteers to participate in a safe, comfortable, and inclusive environment will be disqualified from the race or asked to leave the event and risks being barred from future Lawrence Trail Hawks races and events. Race Cancellation or Postponement In the event the race should be postponed or canceled for reasons beyond the control of the Lawrence Trail Hawks (inclement or unsafe weather conditions; local, state or national emergency), refunds will not be made. Race packets will be available at a location to be determined or possibly, though but not guaranteed, by mail. ALTERNATE COURSE If local authorities or Lawrence River Trail stewards deem the trails unsafe for runners or vulnerable to damage due to muddy conditions, an alternative course will be provided by the Lawrence Trail Hawks Race Directors. Volunteers We can't do this race without our wonderful volunteers! Help is needed for packet pickup and race day. You can sign up for a specific task, or sign up for "As Needed" to be assigned where we need you most. Join us for the 6th running of Mammoth Cave 50K/25K trail race on Saturday, October 24, 2026, in beautiful Mammoth Cave National Park! Named after the historic railroad that once roared through Mammoth Cave National Park from 1886 through 1931, the Bike & Hike Trail provides a scenic, wooded experience within the Park on a crushed gravel surface. The out-and-back trail offers some challenging ascents/descents along its scenic route, and is perfect for the first-time trail runner or racers looking to set a lightening fast PR! Mammoth cave is the world's largest known cave system with over 420 miles created 10 millon years ago. It is also a UNESCO world heritage site. While you are here for the run make sure to get tickets to visit the cave prior to your arrival. There are also many other caves around the area. This destinatioin is perfect for a family vacation. This race was started by Kevin Mays, whom many of you know, and this year he has given me the pleasure of taking over as the race director. He has done a wonderful job of involving the community in the race and I hope to carry on all he has started. The logo has been a white squirrel which is rare in the wild but abuntant in Bowling Green, Kentucky. So maybe you will see one! Seeing one represents purity, transformation, and good fortune. The race will start at 7:00 AM (Central), for both distances, from the Bell's Tavern Pavilion in Park City, KY, and will end by 3 pm. A hard cutoff of 8 hours will be imposed for both distances. Post-Cutoff Finishers: We understand that everyone brings their own pace to the race, and we deeply appreciate the effort and determination it takes to cross the finish line, no matter the time. However, please note that after the 3 pm cutoff, race-day activities will wind down, and many participants, volunteers, and spectators may have already departed. If you find yourself finishing after the cutoff, we want to assure you that your achievement is no less valued. Your perseverance is something to be proud of, even if the crowds may not be there to cheer you in. We hope you'll take pride in your personal journey and accomplishment on race day, regardless of the time. Due to National Park restrictions, registration will be capped. At present, we are opening registration to 150 runners, with the hopes of increasing pending permit approval. Based on demand, we may open additional spots in the 50K distance by eliminating open spots in the 25K, or vice versa and adjust as needed. This event sells out quickly! Understand this is a trail race. We are limited based on where the trail goes. So unlike a road race, the distance is never exact. This is common knowledge to most everyone who has run trail races in the past but it never fails and there is always one who is upset that their GPS watch showed 16.5 miles when the race said it was a 25K. Everyone is racing the same course, therefore it's an even playing field. This will be a "cupless" race. Runners will need to provide their own collapsible cups, bottles or hydration packs for refill at the aid stations. The aid staions will have water, sports drink, and yummy snacks. The Silver Creek Bike Park is amidst the rolling hill country side. It is a superb place to run and the course offers everyone a great time on the trail. Show Your Panther Spirit—Halloween Style! The Panther Cheer Halloween Spirit Run takes place Saturday, October 24, 2026, at Elizabethtown High School Panther Stadium. The event features a timed 5K Run/Walk and a free Kids’ 2.5K Fun Run/Walk. Both races begin at 8:30 a.m. The course features a 2.5K loop around the EHS campus. Kids will complete one lap, while 5K participants will complete two. Whether you are a hardcore runner, friends enjoying a morning walk, or simply trying to outrun the ghosts and goblins, everyone is invited to join the fun. Costumes are strongly encouraged! Come dressed as your favorite superhero, movie character, monster, Panther fan, or anything else your imagination can create. Just make sure your costume allows you to safely run, walk, and see the course. 5K Registration Registration for the timed 5K is $35 through October 23 and $40 on race day. Applicable RunSignUp processing fees will be added at checkout. Participants registered by October 4 will receive a Panther Cheer Halloween Spirit Run shirt. Join Hal’s family and friends as we run the roads he called home. Just a couple of days before Hal became sick, he was out on these very roads, doing what he loved and sharing videos from along the way. Now, we’ll come together to travel those same roads in his memory. The approximately 3.1-mile course will begin and end at the Antioch parking lot and consist of two laps through Hal’s stomping grounds. Along the route, you’ll pass by his home, his farms, and the familiar roads that were such a big part of his life.
