2026 marks 17 years of the Holland Free Health Clinic's (HFHC) annual community fundraiser, Run for Your Life. The 5k fun run/walk is for participants of all ages and abilities and can be run or walked at any pace. Participants are encouraged to use their creativity by dressing in Halloween costumes. Join us for the 10th Annual 5K Run/Walk fundraiser benefiting the Bridge House, a faith-based transitional home for fully rehabilitated women that provides a bridge from rehabilitation to learning or re-learning how to function in society. This is an in-person 5K. On race day, October 24, check-in and late registration will begin at 6:30 am at 38 Gross Ave,. in downtown Burnsville, MS, at the start. The course is a USATF Certified Course. 5K starts at 8:30 am. Early registration fee is $25.00, which includes a youth-sized or adult-sized short sleeve 52% cotton, 48% polyester t-shirt. T-shirts are guaranteed only to pre-registered participants. Early registration ends September 26th. Late registration continues until 7:30 am on race day. Late registration fee is $30. The Red Banks 5K Run/Walk will be held Saturday morning, October 24 @ 8:00am. This race is to benefit the North Mississippi chapter of Joni and Friends. The location is the University of Mississippi Field Station. The University of Mississippi Field Station is a 787-acre research and education complex located in Abbeville, Mississippi, just 10 miles northeast of Oxford. The station features a unique V-shaped valley surrounded by wooded hills, spring-fed ponds, and native wetlands. Funds raised from this event support the mission of the University Research Foundation (UMRF). Here is my story and more about the race- When I found out that I had breast cancer, it rocked my world. I knew that my life would never be the same. I would be a fighter and then a survivor for the rest of my years. I struggled to try to understand why this was happening to me and my family. I prayed a lot. A lot of people prayed for me. My heart became filled with this bigger purpose. This God-given purpose that reminded me that I was given this struggle to not only change me and my life, but to also use my journey through the struggle to help others. After hearing about how the Stephanie Vest Foundation helped a dear friend of mine while she went through her own breast cancer fight, I just knew that I wanted to put my efforts into raising money for this amazing organization that physically, emotionally, and financially helps local women and their families to make it through their fight against this cancer. When you sign up and pay your $10 to participate in the Pink Power 5K, you are giving a $10 donation to the Stephanie Vest Foundation. If you wish to make a bigger donation, there will be a link on the website. That money will all go straight to the Stephanie Vest Foundation. We will also have more opportunities for fundraising at the race. The Dirty Wookie 10K & 5K is a one-of-kind Halloween themed running event taking place in Downtown Reno featuring two unique courses and distances. Come in costume, if you'd like, and join a few thousand other runners/walkers for an unforgettable running experience through the city. The 10K course (new to 2026!) is Reno's only point-to-point 10K. Starting at Reno Running Company – LAKESIDE the course winds through Virginia Lake, beautiful West Reno neighborhoods, Idlewild Park, and finishes at J Resort’s Festival Grounds in downtown Reno. Parking at the 10K start is extremely limited, so runners are encouraged to park at the J Resort, and purchase a shuttle ticket ($10) to be transported to the start. NO shuttle service is provided back to the 10K start line after the race, so if you choose to drive yourself, please plan accordingly. The trail consists of wide grass paths, as well as some sections of single track. Poricy Park is not flat - beware of the hills! This is a trail/cross-country course - race surfaces consist of grass, gravel and wooden platforms - trails are not paved. 5K Fitness Walk: 3:00pm 1mi Fun Run: 3:30pm 5K Race: 3:45pm This 5K run/walk is a costume run! Your participation in this event directly supports the next phase of our apartment renovation project. With exterior repairs nearly complete, we’re now raising funds to repair the interior living spaces so our independent residents can move back into a space that feels like their own. Your participation truly helps us move forward. This year’s run takes place on the stunning trails of Red Rock State Park in Gallup, NM, where towering red sandstone cliffs, wide‑open skies, and vibrant desert landscapes create an unforgettable race experience. Whether you’re running for the challenge, the scenery, or the cause, you’ll be part of something meaningful. NMSU Sprint Triathlon Race will be Saturday, October 24th at 8 am. Due to scheduling conflicts with the NMSU Swim Team, the triathlon has been delayed 1 week from Saturday October 17th to Saturday October 24th. NMSU will be hosting a sprint triathlon event this fall after a hiatus of more than ten years. This triathlon will be in run, bike, swim order and will start at the Aquatic Center parking lot (reverse triathlon). Register now! The sprint triathlon distances for this race will be a 5 kilometer run (3.1 miles), a 20 kilometer bike (12.4 miles), and a 400 meter (0.25 mile) swim. The run will be two laps around the fields behind the activity center and Sutherland Village, the bike will be seven laps going around the back side of NMSU campus following the run route. The swim will be a traditional snake swim in NMSU’s outdoor pool. The transition area is located in the NMSU Aquatic Center parking lot. Check out the race maps on the maps page of our website! We will be offering relay options for this race! Grab two friends and split up the triathlon disciplines, with each of you tackling a portion of the race. Awards The top three individual male and female athletes will receive a race shot glass with the logo and their place! The top three relay teams will also receive custom shot glasses! Finisher medals and race T-shirts will be given to all participants. Age group awards for the top 3 in every USAT age category may be given out depending on the number of registrations for the event. Awards will also be given to the top three participants in the Clydesdale and Athena weight categories (men weighing a minimum of 220 lbs, and women weighing a minimum of 165 lbs).
