Run for Your Life Race Returns to Lake Robinson! **REGISTER BY SEPTEMBER 19 AND YOU COULD WIN $200 TOWARD A NEW PAIR OF RUNNING SHOES FROM FLEET FEET SCHERERVILLE!** After an incredible first year, the Run for Your Life Race at Robinson Lake, hosted by Hobart Parks and Events is BACK — and bigger, scarier, and more fun than ever! Join us for our 2nd Annual nighttime Halloween race experience at Robinson Lake Park. Whether you're racing for a personal best, walking with family, or just showing off your costume, this event is packed with spooky fun for all ages. Choose between our Family Fun Walk/ Run, competitive 5K Race, or Haunted Trail walk as the trail of Robinson Lake come alive after dark. Event Details: Date: October 24th, 2025 Time: 5 PM - Registration Check In 6 PM - Family Fun Walk/Run 6:30 PM - 5k Race 7:00 PM - Haunted Trail Opens to walkers Bring a headlamp or flashlight, as it may be dark on the trails! Location: Robinson Lake Park located at 5240 S. Liverpool Rd. Hobart, Indiana 46323 Run Details: Family Fun Walk/Run: A fun, non-timed experience for all ages and skill levels. Pick up fun glow items along the trail and take fun photo ops with the family! This is a non-paved route around Robinson Lake. 5K Race: A timed run including a bib and chip for those looking for a challenge. We'll give a prize for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place fastest runners! Awards will be given for top runners in each age group for the 5k Race: 17 and under,18-20, 21-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+. Medals for All Pre-registered runners: Pick up your medal for finishing both the family fun walk/run or 5k race. Race day on-sight registration will be available but only a limited number of race day shirts and finisher medals will be available. Tee shirts will be available for purchase both during registration ($20) or on the day of the race ($25). No dogs, strollers, bicycles, in-line skates, scooters, or wheeled vehicles are allowed on the course. Haunted Trail: After our 5k race finishes up, our spooky trail will open to walkers and those looking for a thrillful night walk. The trail is roughly 1 mile around Lake Robinson full of scare characters, creepy scenes, and photo ops! Costume Contest Sponsored by Play It Again Sports Merrillville: We will have awards for most creative costume and scariest costume! 4 winners total, 1 child and 1 adult per category.
