Most races are small enough to feel personal but organized enough to feel official. You can expect a clear course, helpful race staff, finisher medals, results, and a relaxed community feel. Bring your fast shoes, your steady walking pace, your favorite running buddy, or your best “I signed up for this on purpose” smile. We will be glad to see you at the start line. A quick race-day note: because many US Road Running events are small local races, we normally have one or two staff members at each race. EMS is not stationed on site, and water stations are limited to the finish area at the end of each lap and at the race finish. P

Think you can outrun the undead? This October, Waldo MX transforms into a haunted off-road survival course for a one-of-a-kind Zombie Run through dirt, woods, open terrain, and obstacle zones. Walkers, runners, and crawlers are all welcome — but once you enter the course, survival is the name of the game. Each runner starts with flag-football-style life flags worn around the waist. Protect them at all costs. Zombies will be stationed throughout the course, waiting in infected zones to chase you down and steal your lives. Lose all your flags and you’re officially infected — but you can still finish the course. Make it to the end with at least one flag and you finish as a Survivor. Along the way, participants will face obstacles, safe zones, water stations, photo spots, and a few Halloween surprises hiding around the property. Come with friends, bring your best costume energy, and remember: you don’t have to be the fastest… just don’t be the slowest. Whether you’re racing for survival, w

We’re on a mission to make life richer for our PawPals — the companions who steady us, cheer us on, and remind us what connection feels like. As PawRents, we’ve learned that enrichment isn’t just fun; it’s how our PawPals flourish. Every training moment, every social adventure, every goofy spark helps them grow into confident, expressive beings — and strengthens the bond we share with them. River, Aston, and Nova taught us that PawPals aren’t “pets.” They’re family — our shadows, our sidekicks, our PawPals for life. They help us feel less alone, bring out our best, and walk with us through every season. They give us their whole hearts, and they deserve the same in return. RACE DAY SCHEDULE: 8:00 AM - On-Site Registration and Check-In Opens 8:30AM - Opening Ceremony 9:00AM - 5K START 10:00AM - General Awards Presentation Our why: If there were ever a person who symbolized light, Sims Vickers was it. He was so kind, caring, outgoing, and fun. Sims’ life ended much too soon on March 27, 2022. After raising over $25,000 for local, caregiving non-profits the past two years, we’re ready to run the Let It Shine 5K again. This event is our attempt to continue spreading light with a world that needs it. This year, our attention has turned to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Piedmont Columbus Regional – Midtown. It is the only NICU in our region – a Level III, 46-bed NICU – helping babies with health complications to have a fighting chance to thrive. Almost everyone has been touched by or known a family that needed the care a NICU, our local NICU, provides. It is our hope to grow the breadth of care they offer. In our quest to support the NICU, we are specifically supporting the NICU Fund and the NICU Bereavement Fund of the Piedmont Foundation. The NICU fund, itself, provides for the needs of the babies, their families, and the staff while they are in the hospital. The NICU Bereavement Fund assists with end of life care for families who experience such a difficult end to their NICU journey. Your donation will shine a light for real patients and their families, helping them through an incredibly difficult time in their lives. Thank you for joining us in this important work! Help spread the word: https://bit.ly/letitshine5K
