Campus Recreation is proud to present the Valley View Mike Donahue Memorial 5 Miler hosted at Hydaway Outdoor Center on Saturday, November 7, 2026. The 5 Mile trail race is the 2nd race in the Fall Liberty Mountain Trail Series. The course is run on single track trails and mountain roads along the Liberty Mountain Trail System. This race is a partnership with the Liberty University Military Affairs department to show all our support to those who serve. In memory of Major Mike Donahue, the event is specifically meant to honor and remember this man who made such a positive impact in the community and at Liberty University. Welcome to the fifth annual 5Katie! The 5Katie event is a 10K and 5K+ trail run, along with a 2K untimed walk, created to raise awareness and support for pediatric cancer. In memory of Katie Cobb, and in partnership with the West Virginia Kids Cancer Crusaders, all profits will benefit care and treatment of children with cancer. Join us on Saturday, November 7th on the Meeks Mountain Trails in Hurricane, West Virginia for the fifth annual 5Katie! Race Details: Packet pickup is from 7:30 - 8:45 am on Saturday, November 7th at the big red barn at the front of Hurricane City Park. All race participants can pick up their packets at that time. There will be signs directing you to the packet pickup, as well as to the start line. The race start/finish line will be by the shelter in the “bowl”, located across the train tracks (be aware, and be careful). We will have volunteers stationed at packet pickup and along the way to guide you to the bowl. Please plan for an extra 15 minutes to walk to the start/finish line. Bathrooms are available in Hurricane City Park, and portable restrooms will be available at the start/finish area. Water and sports drink aid stations will be available along the course and we will have post-race refreshments located at the shelter in the bowl. Race Distances: Please note these are trail races, and distances are not exact. The 5k course is a 5k+ course. The 5k course is close to 4 miles from start to finish. The 10k course is approximately 6.1 miles from start to finish. The 2k walk is approximately 1 mile long. As with all trail races, GPS watch readings may vary from the official course distance due to terrain and satellite accuracy. Please refer to course markings for the most accurate information on race day. Overall Awards: The 5K and 10K is a competitive race with awards for overall 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place male and female. Award Ceremony for the 5k race will begin at approximately 9:45am in the shelter, at the bowl. Award Ceremony for the 10k race will begin at approximately 10:15am in the shelter, at the bowl. These courses will be well marked and easy to navigate. Please note, these trails are single track trails and will be easy to moderate in difficulty with terrain and footing. Keep in mind, weather can effect the difficulty of the course. Remember, this is a trail race! Safety and EMT will be on call for emergency situations. Barbour Community Health Association is excited to announce our 15th Annual Belington Wellness Center Turkey Trot 5K Walk/Run on Saturday, November 7, 2026, at Belington Wellness Center. As a reminder, our annual Turkey Trot is about more than getting moving. It’s about giving back to our community. The event raises funds for the Heart and Hand House, Inc. The course begins on the southwest corner of the park with a gradual incline toward the north. The course then winds back toward the start line on trails through a small line of trees. It continues along the service road, where the first mile is at the back end of the parking lot. The course continues through the woods on rolling trails with mile two at a fork in the path. The final 1.2 miles is a near replica of the first, featuring plenty of open space for movement. Overall, the course is rolling with occasional rough footing in the woods, but a picturesque course nonetheless, especially in the fall.

Welcome to the annual Frosty Rock Challenge! Packet Pickup On Race Day, packets can be picked up from 7a-9a. On the Friday before the race, packets can be picked up from 4p-6p at Fort HealthCare Business Health Department (210 Milwaukee Ave West, Fort Atkinson, WI 53538) 12K: The only race of its kind! Take on the challenge as you amble your way through the oak savannah, past the marshes and wetlands, and over the prairie on this 12K mixed course. The race starts at the Fort Atkinson High School, goes through Dorothy Carnes County Park and returns to the high school. The 12K route was modified in 2025 due to construction in the area. The route now leaves the High School from the front entrance, wraps around the back of the school, up the hill to Hoard Road and then east to Banker Rd. This race begins at 9:00am. 5K: The route will explore the neighborhood streets of Fort Atkinson, starting and ending at the high school. This race begins at 9:15am. 5K Course 1 Mile: A 1-mile untimed walk/run will also be offered for those who do not want to do the full 5k. This race begins at 8:30am. All racecourses will close at 11:00am. Awards Race will feature overall & age group awards (12 and under for 5k only, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 and 60 +) for both the 5K and 12K male and females.

The Milwaukee Area Fall Frenzy (MAFF) Adventure Race has 3, 8, and 18 hour lengths with a choose-your-own-adventure style race approach to find checkpoints throughout the Southern Kettle Moraine region. The Bristol Woods Trail Run is a 5k trail run/2 mile hike through the trails of beautiful Bristol Woods County Park (Bristol, WI). The event is held on the first Saturday of each November at Pringle Nature Center. Entry fees benefit environmental education programming at Pringle Nature Center. Shirt deadline is Sunday, October 25th. Shirts this year will be a quality performance material in adult men's, women's and youth sizes! Join us for the Second Annual Warriors of Hope 5K & 1K Fun Run held in loving memory of Irene Aragon, a remarkable woman who bravely fought gastric cancer before passing away in November 2023. Though Irene is no longer with us, her family has come together to continue her mission of spreading awareness and supporting those impacted by stomach cancer. Why HOPE and This Event Matter Stomach cancer is often diagnosed at a later stage, when patients have fewer options. Changing that starts with awareness, education, and access. When stomach cancer is found earlier, it opens the door to more treatment options, more time, and more hope—for patients and their families. A diagnosis doesn’t just impact the body—it affects every part of life. HOPE exists to make sure no one faces that journey alone. Through resources, education, community, and advocacy, we are working to improve outcomes and bring more visibility to a cancer that is too often overlooked. This event is held in honor of Irene Aragon, whose strength and spirit continue to inspire this community. Her story is a reminder of why this work matters—and why showing up for one another matters. Our run does more than raise funds—it brings people together, raises awareness, and helps drive change. In 2025, our inaugural year, 250 people ran, walked, or cheered in person and around the US for stomach cancer patients. This year, we’re aiming to double that. If each participant brings just one more person, we can grow this event and its impact in a meaningful way. These three were amazing role models and incredible leaders inspiring us all to serve our community simply because we want to make it an outstanding place to live! A Time 2 Read is a literacy program that desires to impact the lives of children, teachers, families, and the communities in which they live by enhancing the quality of public education and increasing reading proficiency by 3rd and 4th grades. AT2R volunteers give one hour each week to coach two 1st or 2nd grade students, thirty minutes each, in a research-based literacy program. Ideally, each student in the program participates twice per week, receiving a full hour of coaching between their two volunteers. Giving students one hour of one-on-one time each week is impossible for teachers with a classroom full, so what we train our volunteers to do not only strengthens students’ reading levels but also serves teachers, those on the front lines day after day. For the 2025-2026 school year, A Time 2 Read: -->had over 145 coaches -->coached 180 1st & 2nd grade students in HISD -->saw 2nd grade students gain an average of 346 sight words, meaning they gained almost 3 1/2 grade levels of sight words. The wellbeing of the entire Huntsville community depends upon a successful and high achieving school system. A Time 2 Read is becoming an integral part of these efforts by providing caring volunteers who not only help students build confidence and feel successful but also encourage teachers that their community is behind them. We tutor students, not just to invest in their reading skills but to impact them for life. These consistent weekly sessions with the same adults provide them with encouragement and support that makes them feel valued and empowered. Educator Rita Pierson believed, “Every child deserves a champion–an adult who will never give up on them, who understands the power of connection, and insists that they become the best that they can possibly be.” AT2R volunteers are those champions who make powerful and lasting connections. RUCK MARCH Twice a year Rucks On Main will host a military-themed ruck march at the Santa Fe Plaza in downtown Temple, Texas to honor our Veterans and The Fallen. This ruck march is open to everyone. On Memorial & Veterans Day weekends, marchers will fill their rucksacks with UP TO 40lbs of non-perishable food items to be donated to charitable organizations. The 40lb max is a *suggested* weight, not required - carry what you are comfortable with. Marchers will complete a 6-mile route through downtown and historic neighborhoods in North Temple. Before the ruck march, each participant will receive a t-shirt, and upon completion, each participant will receive a small gift of our choosing. Participants can preregister online, or in person on the day of the event. Participants are not guaranteed a t-shirt or a small gift if they register 30 days or fewer before the event (supplies will be limited). SQUADS Squads are made up of exactly 5 individuals, any gender mix. Squads will be scored by the compiled time of all 5 squad members. Each squad member must carry a minimum of 40 lbs. Awards to the top 3 squads. There is a one-time setup fee of $25 for squads. This is added to the registration price of the person who creates the squad. All changes/additions to squads must be complete by 9 am November 7th, 2026. Incomplete squads will be dissolved after this deadline and members will compete as individuals. There will be NO refund of the squad set-up fee.

The Prosper Veterans Day Honor Run is hosted as a salute to the men and women who have served in our nation’s military and offers three runs, a 5k, 10k & Fun Run. Proceeds benefit the Veterans Memorial, planned for construction at Frontier Park in the near future. The annual race events are held on or near Veterans Day each year and are open to runners and walkers of all ages, including children, parents pushing strollers, and individuals using wheelchairs. US Road Running Races US Road Running races are built for runners and walkers who like friendly, low-pressure race days with just enough competition to keep things exciting. Our events are local, welcoming, and easy to jump into, whether you are chasing a PR, collecting another themed medal, working toward series points, or just getting outside with good people. Most races are small enough to feel personal but organized enough to feel official. You can expect a clear course, helpful race staff, finisher medals, results, and a relaxed community feel.
